  1. We had post cards made on vistaprint, using a picture i had taken on our first ever trip to cabo before we were engaged. We had enough made to give a few to each guest. Then we put Canadian postage, and our mailing address on 1 card per OOT bag for guests to write a note to us upon their return. Then they don't feel they have to write something on the spot. It is fantastic! It is so much fun once the exitement of the wedding is all over, to get these cards in the mail!!! We are going to get a small album to put them all in. This will be a keepsake that we can look back at over the years!
  2. Thanks for the kind words everyone! I love looking at my pics... i look at them about 3 times a day. I LOVED my wedding day and i am glad to be able to relive it whenever i like!!

Maura i know you said that someone who have to know they were there... but what if some PERVY decides to search for... say "cute brunette in panties" or something along those lines?? i think photobucket you can search pretty much anything right?! 12. Here is a small portion of the 1000 pictures! Alberto Misrachi in Cabo was AMAZING! http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...5YsnVg&notag=1
  13. Abbie they are so beautiful! Perfect!! I am sooo sad i didnt end up doing one (especially since my dress is trashed anyways...) LOL You look so beautiful (fake blues or not!) ; )
  14. Glo and Mark - First aid kits were from the dollar store. We did the labels ourselves, and put extra items in the kits. ripcat - the gazebo is overlooking the ocean. but it is practially RIGHT beside a bar. When i told Erika the wc that we were pretty sure on beach, but wanted to see gazebo just in case she said no... it is not a nice spot. Then i saw for myself that it was not. It is a beautiful gazebo, but right beside it is a bar, and pool chairs. I will try and post a pic or 2 of the gazebo tonight! We took some pics on our vacation in the gazebo. Made some some nice pictures, but was too close to everything! Disco rental was $500 USD including bar staff and a dj. I thought it was worth it to have a couple hours in a private area.
  15. Are you sitting down?.... It was 500 usd plus set up fee of $150. Thats why we rented bows too.... same set up fee of $150 to set it all up. i am glad we paid that though!

We did not have him during dinner or disco. If anyone is getting married at the Santa Fe and wants to see some pics from dinner or disco that arent in the album, let me know i can email some! WEDDING PICS http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...5YsnVg&notag=1 Thanks to all of the brides, new and old, who have given there ideas and feedback on this forum. So many ideas came from you. THANKS A MILLION! LOCATION Riu Santa Fe, Cabo San Lucas WEDDING DATE July 8th,2008 DATES AT RESORT July 4th – 9th HONEYMOON Dreams Los Cabos July 9th – 13th RIU SANTA FE A Great Resort. Checkin – fast and efficient. Erika the WC came to great us. FOOD A- Lots of selection at the buffet! Breakfast was pretty much the same every day, but there was always some variety at lunch and dinner. A La Carte restaurants. The quality was pretty good, not excellent. I usually enjoyed the salad and appy bar more than the dinner itself. We had 3 dinners reserved ahead of time for the group, and Erika was always there to say hi and make sure everything was going well. ROOMS A- Clean, simple, large, with mini bar and liquor dispensers. LOVE those! We had 32 guests, and everyone arrived on different days. We made sure to be waiting in the lobby to greet them as they arrived, OOT bags in hand. (This was time consuming, and took a lot of time away from everyone else that was already at the resort, but it was a nice touch, and everyone loved the greeting!) (I will post more info on the DIY projects in the DIY forum.) Bag…fans…parasol… DIY….Spanish/English booklet, first aid kit, postcard from vistaprint (that is a photo from our first trip to Cabo before we were engaged) , mint gum, SPF Blistex lipbalm. WEDDING!!! WEDDING COORDINATOR - Erika Rangel - A When I first started my planning, she was hard to get a hold of, and hard to get answers from . BUT looking back, I think it was because I was concerning myself with tiny details 6 MONTHS before the wedding… which clearly, I didn’t need to do. After that hurdle, she was amazing. The best way to find out things from her is by emailing questions in point form. Then nothing gets missed, and you don’t have to ask the same question 2 or 3 times before getting a proper answer. She must have kept every email to and from me (as I did) because any time something came up via email, she would always be able to refer back to previous emails. (yes I was a bit anal, and repetitive… but its my WEDDING! LOL) And also when we finally had our meeting with her in Cabo, she pretty much knew what I wanted before I had to go over things in person. When meeting with her I was worried cuz she seemed so non-chalant about everything. BUT she was like a sponge, and even when she didn’t make a note of something, she still remembered it. She was on top of everything on the wedding day, and although I didn’t see her much, everyone else said she was running around making sure everything ran smoothly. All in all she was AMAZING! HAIR / MAKE UP - Neysa Berman See my review on her here…. She was great, I would recommend her in a heart beat. The price was totally worth every penny! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t25774 PHOTOGRAPHER - Alberto Misrachi - A See my review here… http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t25779 VIDEOGRAPHER (Will grade later, still do not have video back yet) FLOWERS A+ I made sure ahead of time that Erika would be able to get my flowers that I had requested. We only wanted the bridal bouquet and bouteniere that came with the package. I requested bright pink roses only… no fillers… and requested black ribbon. They were perfect! This photo was taken after about an hour of the flowers being in the heat and wind! For the bridesmaids I ordered fuschia parasols for them to carry instead of flowers. I loved them and am so glad I decided on the parasols! (Think I ordered these from asian ideas) Good shot of the flowers and the parasols next to one another. FANS A I ordered black and fuschia. I had DIY tags for them with our monogram. They were supposed to be fanned out on the chairs, alternating color…. And I heard they were done on the chairs perfectly! WEDDING ARCH B I had asked to see a pic of the one they use, and I didn’t like the way it looked. I decided to order a wooden arch from Cabo Flowers. I also ordered fuschia chair bows from them. The only complaint I have is that I wanted only fuschia sheer fabric on the arch, but there was white and fuschia on the wedding day. It still looks great, but not exactly what I wanted. SILK ROSE PETALS A From Petalgarden. You can order a bunch of samples for free… then place an order after you chose. I loved the ‘raspberry’ and ordered 3000 petals. They were not the high quality of some ‘silk’ petals, but they looked perfect on the sand! I hoped 3000 petals would provide thick coverage on the aisle, and some for the dinner tables, but for the ceremony, it was so windy that it just looked scattered. HOWEVER it was still soooo pretty! Erika laid them out, and arranged for clean up after the cerermony MUSIC CEREMONY A Honestly… I don’t really remember the music. I know the right songs were playing at the right time. And everyone could hear the music. RECEPTION NONE DISCO B The music that we wanted to play for the first 20 minutes of guest arrival, was perfect. The first (bride and groom) and second dance (groom and mom / bride and mom) played when they were supposed to. We did not have a playlist ready for dancing… and we were not crazy about the dj’s choices. I reget not having my ipod ready with good songs. CEREMONY A+ Was not a legal ceremony. We did not do a sand ceremony or any type of signing. It was fairly quick, and was all about us and our vows. It was perfect! One of my very best friends who could not attend the wedding, helped write the ceremony. One thing we may have done differently would be to have microphones. Guests had a hard time hearing us. CHAMPAGNE A We had a champagne table set up right beside the ceremony site. It was great! Right after saying our I do’s… we walked back up the aisle, followed by our wedding party and guests, and drank champagne and listened to the salsa-ish music we had prepared. Even though right when we got there my husband hugged someone and dumped his champagne on my hear and down my face… it was great! LOL (be ready for anything on your wedding day!) DINNER – Torote (steakhouse) B The guests had a 2 hour break before dinner when we did our pics… and had time to freshen up. Dinner set up was simple, it was too windy for our rose petals to go on the table, but we had starfish, and Erika decided to improvise (LOVE HER) and put glasses of water with fuschia flowers in them, on the tables. (our colors!!) The food was not fast, and did not come all at once. SUGGESTION – Listen to Erika if she suggests limiting the choices for guests, or getting them to decide ahead of tie what they are going to have. The appy and salad bar was great as always, but the entrée was OK. Not perfect… but I didn’t care! = ) CAKE B We asked for plain white cake. We gave rose petals for Erika to put on cake. When we were eating dinner we noticed the cake table sitting in the corner of the dinner area, and there was a plastic bride and groom on it!!! So, I grabbed flowers off out table… walked over to the table.. pulled the figurines off the cake and replaced them with a couple flowers. Only a couple people saw me do it… and it looked much better! Erika saw what I did (I obviously did it quick and didn’t pay too much attention) so she fixed it and made it look even better. It was delicious cake (filled with booze) and everyone mentioned the cake throughout the night! DISCO A We decided we would rent the disco for 2 hours, and it was a great idea! We did our speeches, first and second dance, and still had over an hour of dancing before the disco opened to the public. I would do this again!!! However I recommend having your own music ready on a disk or ipod! Hope this is helpful!
  17. So funny! I got married at the Riu Santa Fe on the 8th, and we honeymooned at the Dreams! We could see the reception from our balcony! We also heared the hooting and hollaring that night! LOL Somehow we missed everyone jumping in the pool! (Wish we would have seen that!!!) We heard about everyone jumping in the pool from one of your guests who was in our cab the next morning. They said it was the best wedding ever! CONGRATS TO YOU!
  18. Ana... i dont know what the policy on the trial is. i didnt do one. I would think at the trial... if you dont like it, she will just keep trying until she gets it right. I THINK! But if you have lots of pics to show her... i am sure it will be perfect!
  19. I have stayed at the Riu Palace, the Riu Santa Fe, and the Dreams. Out of those, the Dreams was my least fave. I was married at the Santa Fe.... LOVED it and would not have changed a thing!
  20. Sorry..... the flowers were actually from the resort!
  21. I had never heard of him either... that's another reason why i was reluctant! Here is where i found him! A Cabo San Lucas wedding photographer, wedding photography is our specialty, with over 10 years of experience.
  22. Bridal make up $85 Bridal Hair $110 Bridesmaid hair $85 Bridesmaid makeup $65 Fee per stylist $35 I had to pay day pass at the resort. (check if you need to do this) She then charges $85 per hour if you would like her to stay for touch ups after ceremony or pics. She is not cheap.... BUT she was worth EVERY PENNY!!!!
  23. Alberto Misrachi. He was AMAZING! Here is the review.... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t25779
  24. I was reluctant to spend thousands of dollars on photographer. I found Alberto and his prices were very reasonable. I think i paid $1500 for 3 hours with photographer, and 2 hours videographer. I was worried cuz this seemd SO cheap compared to everyone else.... i though i may get some average pics at best. Here is the thing. i didnt want albums, edits... anything like that. I wanted disks with as many pics as possible to do what i wanted with. So thats what we agreed on. Keep in mind if you do this... not every pic is going to be good. He gave me 1000 pics... and I had PLENTY of amazing pics to make albums with. He was a PLEASURE to work with... was very creative.... BUT i suggest going to the shoot with some ideas of your own too! I will post video as soon as I get it! http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...5YsnRw&notag=1
