  2. I have posted a review of her work... and pics! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...774#post475906
  3. She was a pleasure to deal with before we arrived in Cabo. I sent her many pictures, ideas etc for myself and for my bridesmaid who had her hair and make up done. I recommend sending her lots of ideas ahead of time. She did an AMAZING job. We had some bridesmaid drama, that put us back a bit, time wise. But she pulled through like a star!I would recommend booking longer than you think you will need JUST in case! I would recommend her, and would hire her again in a heartbeat! From the moment she walked in I knew i was in good hands! Here are some pics. She did my hair and make up, and my bridesmaid Shawna's hair and make up. Let me know if you have any questions!
  4. THANK YOU to the WONDERFULLY talented Neysa on making my wedding party beautiful! There were a few 'dramas' with the wedding party, but she handled us very well... and we looked great!! i will post pics soon, and will do a longer write up when i post my wedding review in the next week or so!

Fushchia and black hand paper fans on the seats @ ceremony..... Fuchia bows on the chairs.... Fushia fabric on the wedding arch.... 3 mini fuschia parasols for on the plain white wedding cake (i think).... FUschia silk rose petals for the dinner table..... All my oot bag & personalisd stuff has black and Fuschia incorporated into them.... Black Pashminas for the bridesmaids (i am not sure if they will even use them... July is HOT).... And a few other things with that color scheme. I will post my planning piccs soon.... my wedding is..... 3 WEEKS AWAY!
  13. SHOOT! These are sooo nice! Only problem... I have already created my welcome letters for our guests! My fiance will KILL me if i start a new project! (Note my ticker!) YIKES why didnt i see this post earlier?! I think I should give it a shot!! Great Job!!!
  14. Oh geez.... This thread has given me one more thing to stress about! We are having dinner in a semi private restaurant. After dinner we have rented the disco for 2 hours for speaches, dances cake cutting etc. So we are going to be totally out of the norm.... IS IT OK to have speaches and the dances in a location like this? We wont do speaches at dinner. Is this weird? i just thought it would be nicer to not have strangers listening in on our speaches... but now I am not so sure!! Ah what to do?!?! As for the wedding party dance... we are doing something slightly different. The members of the wedding party dont know each other very well... actually they dont know each other at all. So to cut down on the awkwardness we are going to have... #1 - Bride and Groom #2 - Groom and his mom... Me and my mom (Dad is not coming) #3 - Best man + Me..... Maid of honor and groom..... then everyone else can join in mid song.
  15. I am renting the disco for about 2 1/2 hours after dinner. (We are getting married at the Santa Fe.... not Palace) I think it is worth it... it will mean you have somewhere private to do the 1st dance (and father daughter dance etc...). We are going to also do our speaches and cake cutting there. It will be private... so i think totally worth it! As far as having a set menu... we are not doing that. Nobody is going be in a big rush.... and I am having just a few less people than you. I always think it is weird to ask people what they want to eat a month in advance. I know if i was asked to chose in advance... and the day of, i would want whatever the next person was having! lol As for champagne on the beach.... its champagne on the beach! How often do you get to experience that? Do it! i am totally doing it! You may regret not doing it. in the grand scheme of things.. what is an extra 100 bucks or so! Good luck! = )
  16. I am getting married at the Santa Fe in July. YES you can hire an outside photographer. You will have to arrange it ahead of time with your WC. You will have to pay a day pass for the photographer. Riu says no outside venors, but you just have to ask, and insist that you want someone else. Sandra was married there, and had an outside photographer. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19192
  17. How much were the mariachis? How long did you have them for? Were you happy that you went that route?
  18. We are going to use CaboFlowers, when they bring the arch they are bringing hot pink bows to match the fabric on the arch. The riu chairs will be there covered in white, and they will put the bows on. (this will also be covered by the $150 set up fee.) My friend just suggested instead of disco we can all head to the beach and have toasts, dance etc. But i cant imagine we can just show up and do it. PLUS... I want to have the wedding event timeline on the welcome letter. (control freak) so i can say "9-11 disco" as opposed to "9-11 lets just walk around and fin a place to hang out" LOL Ah... time to go look at your photos again.....to see what other questions i come up with! I need to read your review again too.
  19. Thanks for that! The reason why we are considering paying 500 for the disco, was because we would probably have about 2 hours between dinner and the disco opening, and i am so convinced that I will be upset if we dont have a private area to do cake cutting, speaches and first dance. The we can have our own music with us, and have a couple hours of fun before other people get to the disco. i understand where you are coming from. BUT like i said, I am a control freak... and $500 is nothing if it means i KNOW we will have the time and privacy for that stuff. Oh goodness... what to do! my FI is not much help, he just says his usual.... "whatever you want dear". Oh what to do! We were going to have the cocktail party basically to kill time before dinner... but i think people will enjoy the free time to freshen up in their rooms before dinner. July is going to be scorching. So maybe we can scrap that idea! This is the way cabo flowers is going to set up our arch... picture it with white and hot pink sheer fabric... (just the arch not the chairs) http://www.bluehawaiiweddings.com/ha...ing%20arch.jpg We are not ordering flowers from caboflowers, so had to rent the whole arch. This was fine by me, cuz i like the look of the wooden arch..... OK it is starting to sound like i WANT to spend more money than i have to... its no wonder my fiance has started calling me "Holly McSpendsalot" LOL Sandra, thanks for your advice.... I may ask more later. You looked so gorgeous and happy in your pics, and it sounds like everything was so perfect.... I wish i could just 'go with the flow'... but like a said...MAJOR control freak.
  20. OK Sandra, you have ha some time to relax after the big day(s)! = ) Now I have some questions for you... hope you dont mind! #1 - I see you had some private time in the disco. How long did you have, and how much did it cost you? We are going to get 2.5 hours after our dinner. They are charging us $500 and that incudes open bar and a dj. Is this good? #2 - Walk down the aisle. How long was it? How long did it take you to walk down? #3 - How did the arch look? I ended up renting one... and i hope i wont regret that! (we paid $250 rental plus $150 set up and take down. Well the 150 incudes the set up of rental bows, and the arch) We rented arch and bows from Cabo Flowers. (which i know you got your flowers from) #4 - Did they do a good job with your music for the ceremony? Ie playing it, changing songs etc... #5 - We are having our dinner at the Steak house (thanks for recommending it) and was wondering if it felt fairly private, although not private? Weird question i know... but i am a bit of a control freak, and want to know what to expect. LOL #5 - Did you have cocktail party before or after ceremony? We might want one before dinner... but the only the bars in the back section of the resort are open at 6pm, when we would need it. it is pretty far right? They said we could have private cocktails on the beach before dinner for i think... $15 per person open bar, for 1 hour. Is this worth it? We are having ceremony at 4... and dinner at 7... so thought cocktails at 6 would mean less waiting around for dinner. What do you think? Sorry for all the questions! But the answers will be so helpful... i appreciate your advice! i may have more questions later. THANKS!
  21. I hope it's not in poor taste! We are doing it! I really dont think that it is. The cost to rent a private area, and then pay for food and alcohol was way too expensive. We decided to do it at the restaurant (which will not be private), but we are going to be renting the disco for 2 hours before it is open to do our cake cutting, speaches, first dance etc...to have some privacy. We have to pay to rent it, but it was cheaper than doing private dinner. I think you should go for it also!
  22. I am trying to figure out if bridesmaids and myself should walk down the aisle to the same song or not. 5 bridesmaids and myself. I was thinking 2 songs... but what happens when the bridesmaid have all walked down, and the song is still going... do they just stop it? And then it will only take me like... a minute to walk down... then the song gets cut off again? i have been listenening to songs, timing myself walking down the hallway. ARGH I am sooo confused! The songs will most likely have words (i have not chosen the song/s yet) so maybe 1 song is better to avoid cutting off 2 songs? What is everyone else doing... 1 song or 2? HELP!
  23. Thanks for posting! You can only order 1 though....I wonder if i can order 1 of each?! Hmmmmm......
  24. Maura, i love the dress that you dont like! = 0 ) Who makes it?
