  1. No Requirements. If your photog is a guest, then you are good to go!
  2. I agree with Scott-Pierre. Book as far in advance as you can! Get your TA to help you with this if necessary. My wedding was May 9th, and I think that we had my poolside reception booked the July or August before. Also, keep in mind, if there is a beach party that night, you can't use SeaGrape, since that is where the beach party takes place. I know someone else on here had a makeshift reception area set up on the beach because they could not use SeaGrape, but it seems to me that sometimes they make the exception, and sometimes not. Good luck to all of you luck ladies!! Time flies!
  3. Here are the pics of my cake, provided to me by Sheila's Bakery. It is a 2-tier vanilla cake with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. It was $300.00...I highly recommend them! Before adding my own Gumpaste Seashell decorations: After adding my own decorations:

In total it would have cost me $62 per table. So I said no thank you, and did my own, plus I got to keep the stuff. I think my centerpieces maybe cost $32.00 each table instead. So, yes, you can get centerpieces through them. They would be through Tai Flora and you might want to ask Chandlyn what the costs are based on what you want.
  5. I used FREE Wedding Websites | MomentVille Really easy to use. Everything is laid out for you. You just choose your background option and start inputting.
  6. Congrats and great review. Hubby and I are thinking about going to RIU Negril for our 1 year anniversary. I know its a long time off but we loved the RIU and Jamaica!
  7. I paid $350 for 1 hour at my ceremony at the ROR. Apparantly they were very good ;-) I only heard a little bit but they came and entertained our guests, then played for the processional and recessional, during our sand ceremony, and a little bit after the wedding.
  8. Worn for the ceremony and pictures. $55 including shipping in the US. Would have to check prices outside of the US. Custom length: 110" long (Cathedral) Extra Fulness: Cut from 108" wide material Narrow Pencil Edging Plastic Comb See my siggy pic for picture. It is very hard to take a pic of this veil! I have more pics if you would like to see.

Thanks for that tip! We bought them from Bed Bath and Beyond. Buy good batteries and then test them out. Or make the throwies and use those instead! It might have just been the batteries, but who knows. Quote: Originally Posted by Jacilynda We are doing paper lanterns w/ LED throwies that can last about 2 weeks! Look at photo # 108 to see hers all lit up! 04.04.09 Sarah and Jivan | Ana y Jose Tulum | Photography by Sol Tamargo You don't know how much we were kicking ourselves for not making these. We were so close to buying all the supplies, but we just ran out of time, motivation and energy. Dont get me wrong, even not lit, they looked really nice. But it would have been nicer to hae them lit up!!

Fri night, we were at the Plantation and there was a dinner reception above me that moved to poolside after dinner. I only know that because I could hear and see them from my room. Saturday night was my poolside reception, and there was also a reception that I know of at Plantation. This was the beach party night so no beach receptions could take place. I could faintly hear and see the beach party from my reception. We had 27 including us. It was a perfect location for that size and you can definately have more or less in that location.
  11. Once we got there, no mention of it seriously ;-) Just a lot of joking around about it
  12. Ok, so we took 25 of these down to ROR with us for the wedding. We also bought $1 store batteries (bad idea??) The lanterns were hung around 6PM~ish, give or take 20 mins. You can seen in the beginning of the pics that they are glowing. Well, DH and I look up maye an hour in and none of them are glowing!! So our paper lanterns lasted, oh, about 1.5-2 hours. Just an FYI. They still looked really nice, and I assume they are still up. They said they would take them down for us but never did and wanted to relax and enjoy our vacation so we stopped asking. I think that the plug in kind would have been better, but oh well.
  13. Beautiful!! Roberta was amazing to work with. I cannot recommend her enough!!
  14. Beautiful pics!! I so wanted to jump off the ledge in my dress but it never happend.
  15. Well, I am sure that your 11 year old is going to have a fabulous time and you are going to be beautiful!! I would go with whatever you are most comfortable with. If you can do it, bring a photog on the resort for at least a night.
  16. Thank you :-) We actually did no use it at all. We had the steel drum band for the ceremony and after that we just used our Ipod and docking station, then for the reception we did the same. We did use their sound system for our vows and whatnot and it was loud and clear. I did hear/see a girl get married the day before me and they used the CD player, I believe, and it was very loud and seemed to work well - so you are all set!! You are going to love it and I can't wait to hear all about it ;-) Just remember - do NOT stress and have a great time!!

I think that rule is absurd, especially when they make it so difficult to plan ahead of time. Even if I wanted to use their staff, the few pics I've seen online on their site is compiled by an un-named group of phototgraphers and I think it leaves a lot to be desired. I would not know who the person is until that week probably, and who is to say they are any good? If I were to do this all over again, I would NOT pick this resort chain. I assume you have kids coming to the wedding? We looked at the Beaches chain because we had my niece there. I felt overwhelmed with the choices for kid-friendly resorts but then DH kindly found this site and the RIU for me. My friend's photos looked beautiful (again, she brought her own...), so I am sure that the resort and your wedding will be perfect, but I agree that the policy is absurd! I just hope it all works out for you!
  19. Just getting back to the real world.... Anyone else feeling a little down that its all over??
  20. My friend got married at Beaches Boscobel last year and brought their photog with them. They called him "Uncle so-and-so" the entire time he was there! I guess they are really strict. RIU is much more laid back and I only had to pay the $75 day pass, so that was easy. Others are definately more strict.

They were free, so no additional cost. They also set up 2 flood lights that we turned since they were so bright!! We had the reception from about 6:30-11ish. You get 4 hours, but our started a little late, and went a little late. It was absolutely perfect. We only had 1-2 rude people just walk on through, but oh well, we just made some snooty comment and didnt see them again :-)
