  1. man I wish I was that crafty. No way my FI would go for this! He'd just say "its gonna sit in the closet and collect dust"...hes probably right! I'd be all exicted about it for 5 min and then lose that excitement! Too bad you cant rent one of these things!!
  2. Thats so good to hear! My original quote has the GM boutonnieres but I think FI doesn't want to wear one so I might just have 1 for dad and a corsage for mom. I had also had the flowers for the gazebo on there but I think I'm going fresh with that so I don't have to lug even more stuff down! Do you know how much extra the jewls are? Do you mind taking some pics once they arrive and sending them to me? Thanks!
  3. I know there are some cute DIY ones that some of the girls made in the DIY forum. You should check that out!
  4. I like the idea of silk flowers so I can take my bouquet home with me. Thats why I wanted to prevent my toss one to someone...like a keepsake from the wedding
  5. I can't believe someone would be so rude to put stuff on your wedding dress! I haven't even thought this far ahead...one more thing to stress over closer to the wedding!
  6. Thanks for the review! So much good info!! Can't wait to see the pics.
  7. I like the "dance of all ages" idea too. I think we only have like 2-3 single girls so I would feel so bad for them!!! I think you are all right though, we have the cake cutting and first dance , father-daughter dance, etc. And everyone will be drinking so thats not something all that memorable!
  8. I don't really *need* to do anything! I keep on going back to the whole traditional thing, but then again, a DW is not necessarily traditional! I don't know why I got so focused on that!
  9. Hey All, Does anyone have ideas of an alternative to the bouquet toss and garter toss. There are not going to be that many single folks at the wedding and so I feel like there is no point, other than laughing at all the people trying to grab for it!! My uncles cousin played a game instead of the toss where they had everyone stand up, and they started to ask a series of questions (like, sit down if you have never been married....sit down if you have been married less than a year...etc) until the last people standing won a bottle of champaign and some cigars I believe. Since we are at an AI and theres no point in trying to fly with champaign, I think its a cute idea but not ideal. I was thinking about presenting my toss bouquet to my mom, but that kinda leaves out his dad and my dad.... hmmmm....
  10. Thanks so much for sharing. You looked beautiful!! Was your cake the "free" cake? How was it?
  11. Wish I wasnt more than a year away! All these great ideas! Im going to have TOO much stuff!!
  12. I think its def. a great place to stay. I don't know if I would have paid to stay there had my hotel not caught fire ;-) Our Vegas trips are pretty budgeted!! So we have stayed at Monte, The Trop, Sahara, and The Fitz (old Vegas). I would love to stay at NYNY though. We have good friends in Vegas so we try to stay there. If I wanted to stay somewhere really nice and quiet I would choose Signature, maybe even over Ballagio or Venetian. Its just really nice and an escape from the smoke and casinos
  13. That is fantastic. Long ehough to give good info, but not too long (you know people get lazy!!)

When the Monte Carlo caught fire, we were placed at the Signature and let me tell you, it is BEAUTIFUL!! The room is large, the bed is comfortable, you have a flat panel TV (which we didnt use), the bathroom is great (large spa bubble baths!!) with light dimmers and a TV in the bathroom as well. Plus theres ia kitchenette, so if you have leftovers that works nice. The place SMELLS fantastic! I cannot stop raving about it. A bit of a hike into MGM but worth it not to smell smoke all time time (no smoking allowed anywhere inside the hotel). I personally thought it was worth it. We had a Jr. Suite
  15. From what I have heard, its a great resort. They just cant confirm that you will have a private reception since it is smaller than ROR. I believe you can rent out one of their restaurants though at an extra cost.
  16. It was a tough choice for us, but we wanted somewhere where kids were allowed (neice is 2) but wasn't overrun with kids. If my neice weren't around, though I would have gone with Sandals and just made it no kids allowed! Can't wait to see the RIU in person though!!
  17. May 9, 2009. Have a long time to go, but thats ok!
  18. Congrats! Was there a problem with using fake rose petals? I had thought of this but then worried about getting them cleaned up!
