Looked really nice lit up at night. I believe I paid $85 total plus shipping ($17.00 each) 30 Beach Mats. I think 20 are red and 10 are blue. I bought them at Pier One for $1.00 each. I planned to give them out in the OOT bags but this is the bag that was forgotten back at MBJ and was just recently returned to us. Please note that shipping may be more for these as they do get heavy Veil - Cathedral length, custom made with 108" fabric (extra full), 110" long, light Ivory, pencil edge, plastic comb. Please see my siggy pics, but I can show you more if you would like. Hanging Orchids - No pic of these but I can take one if you would like. They were not used as they were in the same bag as the beach mats. There are about 16 strands with approx 10 orchids per strand. Wound around carboard and secured in place. DH made them all and they took him 4 hours. Each orchid is strung through fishing line and secured with a dab of hot glue. Ochids are white with a pink center. A fre have yellow centers. They would have looked beautiful....I think all in all, the materials cost $30.00 I think that's it for now. Let me know if you have any questions.... I also just found 5 of those picture frame easels in black. Not sure if anyone is interested in those...

  7. My friends stayed at the Sunspree for 2 nights after their 5 nights at the RIU. They said they liked it just as much, but they are EASY to please!! They loved that you could walk right into the water onto a little island, and they said the rooms are pretty basic. It looked way nicer than the Starfish, which looked....well, old

  9. I will take a picture of them bundled up. I don't want to unravel them since he did such a great job wrapping them up. This would definately save you some time though! The pics should be posted later tonight.
  10. At the RIU Ocho Rios, they did pick up all of the petals, so they will probably be able to do that for you at the RIU Montego Bay. They look really nice

  14. Seriously! No, really...I still like reading 'em

I think I got 3 bites, and I can't even tell you where that came from...no one else got bitten - but I am always the one getting the bites! I did not wear bug spray once, although I did bring it. Yikes, I'm so behind! Scott-Pierre is correct, you are actually paying to have a private bartender keep a bar open late for you and your wedding party. The pool and beach bars I think close at 6pm. Otherwise, your guests would have to walk all the way up to the lobby bars or sports bars, which get busy at night with the shows. It was really nice to have a bar right there! We did book a year in advance, but my TA works closely with the resort and wanted my plans set in stone for me.
  16. Has anyone received their wedding certificate yet?
  17. I booked my photog for 6 hours and he captured us both getting ready, ceremony, all portraits, cake cutting, toasts, formal dances and a lot of dancing and drinking He did not shoot once we started eating as that is a little uncomfortable (a lot of people don't like being shot while chowing down) and also because he was eating with us. 8 hours is sufficient and should be pleanty of time. What time is your ceremony? I'd say it is more than worth the cost. Its the best decision we made.

  19. Here is a link to some video of our Steel Drum band before the wedding. I walked down to Cannon in D and we walked back up to One love. But they have a whole list that you can choose from. The music varies, but it sounds very islandy. jamaica 257 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
  20. I agree with kstinson. We flew US Air and I was totally prepared to put my dress overhead, but the flight attendant was so exicted to have a bride on the plane, it seemed, that she practially ripped my dress and DH's suit out of our hands and then put them right in the closet. Also, not sure if this is normal, but we did not have to pay to check any luggage on the way home from JA. Not sure if its just going and not coming, or if they were just behind.
  21. I agree. I wanted a traditional wedding so badly, but I would NOT have changed my DW for the world. And all the singles have pretty much decided that once they get married, THEY will be having DWs. I hope my PM has helped ease your mind a little Honestly, the BBQ menu at the reception was the best food we had all week, that including Sir Richards which was AMAZING. I felt that we had enough time to do all the "traditional" dances, speeches, cake cutting and every other traditional thing. Plus lots of dancing, drinking and taking shots! And then the party just continued on at the disco and also people really appreciated being able to walk down by the ocean. Trust me, by 11pm a lot of people were really pretty tired from being in the sun all day long and really appreciated being able to decide to do whatever without feeling guilty about having to stay late at the reception. Just thinking back, I don't really remember most any wedding receptions going more than 4-5 hours so this is actually pretty traditional? The party usually goes somewhere else if people still want to party!
  22. Congrats Katy!! I know you are gone, but I hope you have a great time and I can't wait to hear all about your big day Did you and Will meet at Boardwalk Billy's?

We had a fruit filling which cost a little more than if you did not have fruit, but it was awsome! I don't know if they give you a few options, I would just let them know exactly what you want in terms of flavor, and have some pics of what you want it to look like.
  24. I booked my cake with Sheila through my TA so I paid my TA who paid Sheila. No confirm number or anything...just a lot of trust While I was taking pics, though, I saw someone walking through the resort with my cake, so that made me happy.

What was the meal like? Thanks ladies!!! I considered this, but my TA strongly advised against plated service. If you read the reviews, you will see that some people were eating at the plantation and mammee bay, while others were waiting. This also happend to us at our rehearsal dinner at the plantation. The food trickled out and some people were just starting their dinners when others were completely finished. It really stretched dinner out too much - nearly 2 hours - which cuts out of your 4-hour reception time. We used the BBQ buffet and everyone was raving about it.
