  1. Ok all you crafty and creative types, I need some help with ideas for our engagement party. It's next weekend and we are throwing a Jamaican themed BBQ. We will be serving jerk chicken as the main dish. I'm looking for fun creative ideas for food and/or decor for the party. It's outdoors. I keep looking online and running into Tiki and luau stuff. Hula skirts and Tiki gods aren't Jamaican, so they don't work. Help. I don't want cheap or cheezy party store junk. I don't mind putting in a little time into making it myself...I just need ideas. Anyone got any?
  2. Cute stuff...but some of it is pricey. $95 for a shirt with a rhinestone skull...wow, I think I'll make my own.
  3. Wow these are so great. I can't wait to see what everyone's gets! So fun.
  4. I also wash mine in a mesh bag in the washer hand hang to dry. However, Nordstrom makes a special lingerie wash that works really well. I use it on my swimsuits and I've had the same bikini for over 4 years...and it still looks great. I don't normally spend allot of $$ on my bras...but if I did I would use the wash from Nordstroms instead of being lazy. If I buy one of those VS bras (I generally can't wear VS bras as they don't make many styles in size 32) I would be washing it by hand.
  5. Tammy B LALALALALALA...ok we are warmed up now. I think we are ready for Idol!
  6. 3. When I was 5 you said you'd bring me a pony...you lied...I'm here for that pony.
  7. 3. I dunno, wadda think...is it even worth the $2?
  8. Oh...I wanna play. Here are my 5. It was hard to pic 5..there are so many good ones...I'm a total nut job: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
  9. I can't beleive I forgot this one. I went to high school and ran track with Marion Jones. She was a B*#@! and stuck up...I'm not at all surprised that she took drugs and got stripped of all her Olympic medals.
  10. I've had a few brushes with the famous over the years. Here are a few i can think of off the top of my head. 1. I won a radio call in trivia show and got to spend the day with Tori Amos. I was there to watch her do a radio interview show and got to go to her concert that night. I still have the autographed picture she gave me. 2. I was a hotel maid at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, CA while in college. They were filming a music video for the Soup Dragons song Divine Thing. Well I guess they liked my look and I ended up in the music video as an extra. I still have never seen the video myself. I have an autographed CD single for the song...they didn't pay us to be extras, just gave us the CD. 3. I went to a Rammstein concert with 10 friends. 3 girls and 7 guys. Roadies were waitng by the entrance and picked me out of the crown and gave me a backstage pass. I convinced them to give me 2 and we snuck in a 3rd girlfriend after the show. It was pretty mellow and boring until my BF at the time freaked out (he was drunk) and started banging on the doors (he was locked outside) "Rammstein kidnapped my girlfriend". We had only been in there like 10 min and all the guys were supposed to be hanging at a near by pub for us...but my Ex had other plans. If only he'd know that the conversation I'd been having with the band member was about what he had been doing the night the Berlin Wall had come down. I've got more...like Tony Hawk, Steve Perry etc. Oh...I thought of one last funny one. Tom Skerritt lives near me and I once knocked him off his feet in a coffee shop by opening the door into him.
  11. We have an Xbox360 and a PS3...so I can't convince FI that we need a Wii. But I want one as well just for Wii Fit.
  12. Alright!! I'm no longer the only Riu Montego Bay bride on the forum!! We'll have to share info.
  13. I love the name Sage, but I do think Willow is a female name. How about sticking in the herb family? What about Basil? I almost name my cat that. My FI and I when the hystory/mythology route. Our pets are all name after either creatures of myth or famous historical figures...and they had to be 4 letters long. We are proud parents of Loki, Cleo, and Eros.
  14. Germany (esp Berlin and Leipzig) and Croatia are my fav places in Europe.

  18. from a fellow Jamaica bride. What area of Jamaica?
  19. I'm in Seattle now, but I grew up in Hawaii! I thought about doing our wedding in Hawaii, but to me Hawaii doesn't have a vacation "feel" to it...so we are going to Jamaica instead.
  20. Here is the link that has the most up to date info about the Hurricane Ridge contruction: Olympic National Park - Hurricane Ridge Road Construction (U.S. National Park Service) You can take a few different ferries to cross the sound. Which one you take depends on where you are staying and how much af a senic drive vs. fastest route you are interested in. You can also drive south to Tacoma and take the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. I like the ferries much better, but the toll bridge is allot cheaper. Bsiclly you just need to get on US 101 to get there...and however you get to the 101 is up to you. Normally I think we take the Edmonds to Kingston ferry, but I think Seattle to Bainbridge isn't a bad choice if you are coming from Downtown. I think it's about 2.5 hours to get there from Seattle.
  21. If you want a bride and groom at the top. Do it! We decided to have fun with ours. I just love them.
  22. Personally Olympic is my favorite. The Lake Ozette trail is a hike through the rainforest that dumps you out onto the beach at the end. Simply incredible. However, Olympic Park is an all day adventure. It's a long drive and a ferry ride from Seattle. There are lots of great little towns along the way. If you are an antique shopper at all...there are tons of great places along the way. The drive and ferry ride are beautiful. I'd suggest this one if you don't mind hitting the road early. Snoqualime Falls is the closest to Seattle. The falls are beautiful and there is a cool lodge to have lunch at. If conditions are right you can hike all the way down to the base of the falls. I've actually jumped in the water at the base before. It was COLD!! Mount Rainer is also worth the trip. There is lots to do there, but it's a bit of a drive as well. In July you should have no problems with road conditions, but it's always wise to check the road status before leaving...just in case: Mount Rainier National Park - Road Status (U.S. National Park Service)
  23. That sounds like so much fun. I've been tempted to take one of those cruises o many times. I live in Seattle, so if you need and help with Seattle questions, just let me know. July is an awesome time to be in Seattle.
  24. from a fellow Montego Bay bride!!
  25. Does anyone have the pics of the free bouquets? I'm curious to see what they look like. I think RMB will be similar, but they don't have that stuff set up yet.
