  1. You are likely to have a hard time finding a 3 row channel set ring. The way that the channel set rings are constructed makes this not an easy task. Which is why you often see it with boarders like the ones you have pictured. I'm a gemologist, not a metalsmith...so I'm not 100% on that...but I can check with a few goldsmiths I know. Also if they are emerald cut, and not baguettes...that ring is going to be pretty wide w/ 3 rows.
  2. I'm sorry, but all I can think of is Monty Python... Every sperm is sacred. Every sperm is great. If a sperm is wasted, God gets quite irate
  3. Thanks everyonje who voted (doesn't matter if you are in the NW or not) a little business like mine can really use the free advertising that comes from winning this contest. Remember...you can vote daily. Thanks Again!!!
  4. I ordered from Carabella a few years ago and the swimsuit I got from them has been my Fav. It's on it's 5th year and still looks great. I haven't look ath the suits this year yet...but I had a good experience with them. Carabella Collection - Swimsuit, Swimwear, Lingerie, Eveningwear, Daywear, Dress, Catalog
  5. Thanks I'll have to check that out. We have both Whole Foods and Trade Joes near us. We got the BBQ covered. What gave us the idea was the new grill that FI bought. I've named it Behemoth. The thing is gigantic and we ar going to have a veggie side and a meat side.
  6. Don't know about the sink/float...but I know a quick way to tell that they close to done. Take the egg from the water and spin it on the counter. If it spins fast like a top its likely done. A raw egg spins slow and off kilter. Seriously...try it...it's so strange!
  7. Some of the time diff is because of the types of stoves. I know that I have adjusted the time when cooking of a gas stove vs an electric stove. The ice bath stop the cooking and makes it easier to remove the shell. I got my technique from the Joy of Cooking book
  8. First off, place the eggs in the water and then place it on the stove. Don't put the eggs in while it's boiling, they'll break. I boil mine for 13 min and then put them in an ice bath asap.
  9. OK Ladies I could use some help on this one. FI and I are thinking of throwing ourselves a engagement party/BBQ in June. We are getting married in Jamaica so I want to a Caribbean theme and serve Jerk Chicken. My problem is that we have close friends that are vegetarian and a couple of serious vegans. My homemade jerk sauce is already vegan so that isn’t a problem…it’s what to put it on? What do I use instead of chicken? Is there some kind of fake chicken I can use that grills? I was raised in a serious meat eating family and have no idea. I’d love some help. Also…what else should we serve with the jerk?
  10. I think I can say that I might have just walked away from this marriage...but hey I'm not her: Local News | Man marries, receives 18-year assault sentence | Seattle Times Newspaper
  11. I stayed there about 5 years ago, so it's been a little while. I had a great time, but each Sandals seems to have it's own flavor. I think it is one of the older Sandals on the Island. We even visited Sandals Royal Carb for dinner one night. We went in Nov just after Thanksgiving for my birthday and were upgraded from the lowest level room to an Ocean View one...it was pretty cool. As for the airport noise...I really didn't find it to be a problem. I did notice it once and a while while I was laying on the beach, but all it made me think was "how sad...they are going home...well at least I'm still here" I got my SCUBA cert while I was there, so I spent allot of time reading my instruction manual on the beach in a lounge chair with a frosty drink....the best way to study!!
  12. I've got a fairly good one. My little sister got married last June at my parents brand new house. They had just finished building it and have moved in only 2 weeks before the wedding. The house is minutes from Yosemite National Park and not near any real city, so they rely on well water. I have extremely large family. (my Dad’s side with just aunts, uncles, and cousins is 90+) and many of them were staying at the house or had RVs parked near the house using hookups. Well about halfway through the reception the water reservoir tank ran dry…no water. The well can pump to refill it, but it takes over 24hours. I thought my parents would freak, but they were having too much fun dancing in a champagne haze that they just told me to put signs that the well ran dry on all the toilets and facets and to use the RVs in the mean time. Without skipping a beat everyone did just that and it worked out fine. You would have never known. They next morning the reservoir had refilled enough so we could take showers and by that night we were back to normal. It made me realize how great my family is…no one cared or freaked.
  13. Yah, I'm in. I love these. Elfster signed up and PM sent.
  14. and congrats! I'm a fellow Montego Bay bride. We are doing the new Riu next Feb. It's just the 2 of us and no guests...so it is easy for us to be flexible if there are problems at the new resort. I can't wait. You must be so excited.
  15. I'm so glad you guys were able to get the lawn mower running. I was worried that it would be more difficult because it had been sitting for so long unused. I was just happy to have more space in the garage...well it didn't last long. Joel went out last night and bought a behemoth of a BBQ. Its still in the box, but when it’s all assembled the thing will be 6 feet long!! Seriously look at this thing (note this pic does not show the additional large smoker box he bought as well): Now we have 2 BBQs…guess I see a Criagslist posting in my future. Boys and their toys
  16. and congrats!! I love St John. It's so beautiful. You'll find lots of great advice here.
  17. Wow, allot of the things you guys can't get where you are we have here in Seattle...maybe because we are just hours from the border. I filled Joel's Xmas stocking with Bounty bars...he love coconut. I also buy Kinder eggs and MacKintosh's Toffee all the time. The one thing I love in Canada...but I'm not sure they make anymore is Miamis. They were made by a brand that is similar to Little Debbies here in the states, but the Miamis are little coconut puff ball things. They were kind of like eatting coconut angel food cake....so good...but ssoooo much sugar. I haven't seen them the last 2 times I was in Vancouver, so if they don't make them anymore I'll be sad.
  18. and congrats from a fellow Riu bride
  19. Abbie, I have an EBay store if you want me to list it for you I'd be happy to. I take consignment in my store all the time for customers an sell it on EBay for them...but heck...for another Seattle bride...my treat
  20. I know about this and wasn't that concerned. I did a little more research and found that for some reason, and I don't know what it is, some Jamaican politicians don't like the Riu Co. While they seem to coddle the Sandals resorts they hit the Riu resorts with everything they can, even though most of the times the Sandals and Couples chains are doing the same thing. They have over 9 months before we go and we will just be sent to one of the other Riu's on the island if it isn't finished.
  21. Hey ladies...I would love your help. My shop has been nominated for the Northwest People's Picks awards. Last year I came in 2nd in 2 categories. (Jewelry shop and vintage boutique). This year they changed the categories a little, but I'm still up for the Best Jewelry shop. (nominations have not been listed for antique catagory yet)I would love a vote! People's Picks 2008 | NWsource You can vote upto once a day from each computer...so vote often! My shop is Lil'Paisley...just like my name. Thanks, Kris Mods - if this post is not accepted, please let me know. I couldn't find anything that fit it in the rules. Thanks
  22. We are paying $1100 p/per. This includes flights from Seattle, all inclusive at RIU, taxes, and insurance. This is an amazing rate as flights alone from Seattle to Jamaica are $$. I think the resort figures to about $99 each per night. The one thing to consider is that you can not book your actual wedding until after the resort is open. The RIU planner did say that it may be sooner, but I'm not holding my breath. It's just us 2, so we are flexable and this doesn't bother us.
  23. I think it's fine to throw yourself an engagement party. Our family is all out of state and we are eloping...so there isn't anyone to throw us one. I think we will have a small party at our house this summer as our egagement party. As for the BM / MOH idea. I love the shot idea. I, however, would gather all 4 at the same time to do the shot and pass out the cards...but that's just more my style. Also who says you have to pick the MOH right away. You can take some time to think it over more and see how all the girls react to the invite...or who says you can't have 2 MOH?
  24. I just realized, I got my stimulus check today and made about the same amount deposit today....so I just "stimulated" the Jamaican ecomomy
