I went on a SCUBA trip to Cozumel a few years ago and spent 2 days in Cancun before we flew out. We did Chichen Itza, but on our own w/o going on a tour. We rented a small car, got up early, and drove ourselves there. I have heard that you can no longer climb the pyramid, but I don't know if this is true. We were able to do it when we were there...but that was a couple of years ago. I'm glad we did it on our own as we went at our own pace and were able to work our way around the large crowds from the tours. We picked up a tour book in the gift shop and read that as we walked around. We did catch a few of the guided tour lectures for some of the sites and didn't feel the book was missing anything. I can say that it was allot bigger than I was expecting, it was pretty amazing. I think the best part was that on the way back we stopped at a few small villages and a small town. The small town was having a farmers market, which was awesome. For us, going on our own and at our pace was the right choice. I’m not one for tours and think I might not have enjoyed it as much if I’d gone that route.

Yah Christa. I'm so excited for you. I completely forgot about the mower. Joel said you guys could have it. It's been sitting unused for over a year...so it's going to need a tune-up or maybe a little work as a result. We really have no idea. But it’s yours if you want to come pick it up.

Need Advice on Necklace
Lilpaisley replied to angitalia23's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I own a jewelry shop and I agree that $65 is too much for that necklace if it's GF. It doesn't say how big the pearl is...but it a cultured one and should make that much difference. You could easily make something yourself for allot cheaper. If you want guidance on design, contruction, or where to get supplies...just let me know. A necklace just like that would take 10 min max. -
I just sent an e-mail to Dreams about getting wedding info for this resort for '09. If anyone is interested in what I find out...let me know.
-
Wow, this is great. PV has been the front runner on locations for us. I wonder if we can get more info for '09.

I know about the extra software w/ the Cricut...but its biggest drawback for me is that it doesn't have a digital eye. After using the machine to create my DIY for my wedding I want to be able to use the machine in my business to create unique signage and packaging...and that feature will be needed for that. I found a seller on EBay that has new Craft Robos for $249...I'm seriously thinking about that as it's even cheaper than a Cricut

I haven't written them about dates yet. We are still trying to work with family to figure that out. I was however looking at April and May myself...so I'd be interested to know what you find out. I did write Deams Cancun for the prices, packages, etc and did hear back from them...but I haven't written PV yet.

I was on Tripadvisor today trying to narrow down the resort we want to have our wedding at. Dreams is one of the top choices...but then I read this in the forums: Puerto Vallarta forum: Cruise Ship Crowds at Dreams - TripAdvisor Has anyone else heard of or experienced this? They say in the thread that one of the cruise lines offers Dreams as a day trip. If this is true how do you think, for those that have been married there, it would effect a wedding.

I've been on a few cruises over the years and we always needed one, this was requires by the cruise lines. My friend realized she forgot hers while we were still in Miami for a few days and she had to have her dad break into her house and Fedex her passport to her at our hotel...and this was over 5 years ago. Best bet...don't risk it...get passports

We just got a PS3...about a week ago. So we don't have many games yet, but when we were at Fry’s they had 2 Rock Band demos going. It was almost painful to walk through the gigantic store and not be able to get away from teenagers doing bad imitations of classic rock.

My sister got married last June and they got 3 digital picture frames as wedding gifts...and they didn't even register for one. She couldn't return them because she had no idea where they were purchased...so she and I gathered and scanned all the family pics we could get our hands on and gave one of the extra frames...loaded w/ family photos to my parents for Xmas. My parents loved it as they had long ago divided up the family photos among us and didn’t have copies themselves. I think they are great and the scanned photos…even those horrible ones from the 70’s looked really good on the frame. I think I want one now.

I bought our cake topper!
Lilpaisley replied to Lilpaisley's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I've actually thought about doing cupcakes. My daily perfume is cupcake themed...it smells like buttercream frosting. Not long after Joel and I started dating he told me he can't go to a bakery and look at cupcakes the same way again So now for every special occasion I make him cupcakes. I didn't think that many of the resorts would offer a cupcake option...but even if we go that direction, I'll still have the topper on the table w/ them. -
I use Juno Reactor as workout music. You might all recognize them from the Matrix films. It's mostly techo stuff. I like the Matrix sound tracks and the Bible of Dreams album

I highly recomend Sycamore Canyon in Ventura County. I have always loved that spot. It beautiful. Many TV shows, films, etc are filmed there because it's so lovely. Bonus...it's right off PCH and just up the road from Neptunes Net...and you must eat there!

Does anyone have a computerized digital die cutter? I'm thinking of buying one. I am not talking about the Cricut, that takes cartridges. The machines I am looking at (Xyron Wishblade, Quickutz Silhouette, or Craft Robo) all hook up to a computer via a USB cable and have software that lefts you design and cut anything. You can even print out something on your normal printer and send it through the cutter. I've been doing allot of research on these and think I know what I want, but I was looking to see if anyone had one so I could get some feedback. I've wanted one for a long time and all the DIY plans I have for the wedding might just finally justify a purchase. It cuts vinyl and t-shirt transfers and I want to make “Bride†Tank tops as a first project.

Yah, they are Day of the Dead or El DÃa de los Muertos. One of our fav restaurants in Seattle, called El Chupacabra, had one of these as décor in the restaurant and I always wanted to steal them. So when we got engaged…I knew exactly what I wanted. -
I'm doing things completely out of order. We haven’t picked our location in Mexico yet….but I was home sick yesterday and did a little shopping on EBay. Well I found the perfect cake topper for us. Joel loved it and I got it for a steal…so I made my first official wedding purchase. For some reason it all feels real now that I’ve made a wedding related purchase. They are bendable, so I can pose them as we want.

OMG! Gary Oldman! He is my fav! Did you get to see him? I would die if I ever got to meet him. You will all most likely think I'm strange, but I think he is so sexy.

A dance off...count me in

No, we have a small zoo at home. One dog, 2 cats, and 2 Praying Mantis. We also have a small army of crickets...but that is just to feed the mantis. I can't tell you how strange it is to hear crickets in your house when it's snowing outside. You think its summer for about 1 second. Christa, I'll ask Joel about the lawn mower tonight when he gets home from work. It's been sitting in our garage a while and might need a tune-up or something to get it running again. Here's a little cuteness overload for you all. This is Cleo and Eros. They are best buds and allways together.

It was so much fun last night. I can't believe some of the strange places our conversation went. We should have a doggie date for sure. Cleo loves to play and a new dog park just opened within waking distance from my house

Why would we be scared? I don't think it would be the same w/o you. I'm counting on you for comic relief
