  1. I was planning on bringing cds as Chandlyn did say that there is a cd player and speakers to rent. I thought this would be easier than worrying about the docking station for my ipod. However, would recommend using an Ipod instead?
  2. Thanks so much, I'll look at that thread!!
  3. Hello Ladies, Wow! A month and a half before I had to the ROR and tie the knot! All the information on here has been extrememly helpful, but I still have one question. I was wondering if any past/future brides who booked the Seagrape beach and just rented the cd player and speakers (instead of hiring a DJ). My thoughts are that I would probably be bringing my own music anyway, so why not just save some money and play it ourselves?! If you could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
  4. Hello Ladies, For those of you who have already gotten married at the Riu, what do you recommend bringing for decorations? I have purchased the Royal Package, but still I am confused if I should be making things to bring with us? Also, what are the chairs like? Are they wooden or plastic? I am considering making sashes for the chairs! Thanks so much
  5. Great post! Sorry, I can't help answer your question. However, I would love to see what decorations are included with the Royal Package as well! I am getting married on the Beach Gazebo:)
  6. Hello Ladies, I was just in touch with Chandlyn and she was able to send me pictures of the basic flower bouquets! Unfortunately, like most people on here, I don't really like any of the arrangements. I was hoping that they would have tropical flowers, seeing that it is Jamaica and all, but don't seem to have any. Chandlyn told me that I can upgrade through Tai Flora Services Ltd. - Jamaica's Full Service Florists. Has anybody gone this route? If so, have to I go about doing it. Do I have to call them to have the bouquets arranged ahead of time? Or does Chandlyn take care of that once you are there, since it is the resorts florist?! Thanks once again! Xo
  7. I was curious whether most people decided to hire a band (i.e. steel drum band) to play before and after the wedding)? I have a particular song I want ot have played as I am walking down the "aisle" and I don't know if I can bring a cd for this song or should just have the band play? Thanks so much!!!!!!! You guys are such a great help!!
  8. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me a brief overview of the dinner/reception options?! I have read a lot about this, but still slightly confused!!!!!! Is it possible to have the dinner at one of the resturants and then move to the beach for the dance/drinks? Or, if I have a beach reception does the dinner have to be on the beach as well? If so, what types of food would that include? Do most people hire a DJ for the dance/reception? Would you also bring a cd with "your song" on it? How does this work?! Also, does anyone know the wedding coordinators (Chandlyn Edwards) contact info-email address? Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!

How to I go about booking things such as the wedding reception, dinner etc? Do I have to wait 2 months prior to the Wedding when the coordinator contacts me?

  11. Hey Everyone! My fiance and I are getting married at the Riu, Ocho Rios in Jamaica on Feb. 17, 2009! We fly down on the 14th and everyone flies back on the 21st. We are staying an additional week! We are super excited and although we have the wedding date already booked we both still have many questions! Hoping I may be able to find some of the answers to them on here!! Thx!
