  1. thanks guys! You made me feel better. Maybe I was just panicking!!! Preston Bailey is in charge of other weddings. For some reason, not at this resort! Your right, i am sure I can speak to my WC and get things somewhat to my liking. When I tried to ask my WC about different things...well...i still haven't heard back. So, added to my panic! Thanks for talking me down guys! I actually enjoy planning the wedding too. Had at one point considered being a Wedding Coordinator myself. I think I just got stuck on the whole....i am going somewhere else, and what can i alter so far away. (I have never been to a DW wedding before. I am and still are unsure what you can alter, what these typically look like, etc.) Anyways, thanks again. You all made me feel better!!! Who is TA Jennifer? How would I find her to contact her about it?
  2. These were the starting point! And, I love them. But, upon adding them to items, like my brochure, they felt like they were floating. So, i tried adding a circle around them. (Keep in mind...i have VERY limited experience with working with graphics!) I wanted to add some purple to the monogram...but decided I think i like the blue one best!
  3. Heres the monograms that were developed for me!
  4. Well, i thought I would try blogging. Write down my success, my failures, and my attempts! And, see where it goes! Upon reading everyones awesome ideas...it left me wondering if there is anything truly original I can add. probably not. But maybe I can add a twist on something someone has already done. Then again, maybe not! But, we will see! I want to thank Morgan for all her ideas. I have to admit, I am stealing a LOT of them! lol I always want to thank Sarah for all her work on creating my monogram! It is MUCH better than what I could ever create for myself! I will post them, and what i THINK may be my final pick! Well...heres to blogging! And, the journey!
  5. Ok, i am freaking out a bit. I googled some pictures of weddings at the resort we are going to. (SRH) I wanted SOME sort of idea of what they do. I am now having second thoughts! I think we should have chosen another resort!!!! The weddings are very simple. 15 mins tops. They use a flower heart arch that just looks cheesy. Then, off for a quick toast and cake cutting. And your done! I feel like its a shotgun wedding!!!! I am kinds getting disappointed! Its already too late to change resorts!! I am trying to think of any way to make this ....i don't....less rushed feeling! I didn't think i wanted anything fancy, but upon hearing and seeing some of other BDW pictures, i realize I want the chairs in the sand, a nice fabric draped arch. (Or, heck, something longer than 15 mins.) Am I being unrealistic? Or too picky?? I just feel like....why am i making all these plans for things like fans, and flowers....when the wedding is going to be so rushed?? Lisa (Feeling very disappointed and wanting to cry.)
  6. Wow! You guys are great! Would you mind helping me with mine! I tried using powerpoint...and..well..i am NOT a computer person! lol. It ended up looking dumb, with just letters and no image. Our info is: Lisa and Greg Sandals Hicacos, Cuba December 5 2008 Thanks for any help!!!!! You guys are the best!
  7. where did you get the picture of these fans from?? They are wonderful! I really like the look of them! Thought maybe someone on this board had made them, and had posted instructions on how to do it! Otherwise, let me know how you make them! I want to make them too! Lisa
  8. Ahhh...sorry! I did see some colored ones on site. I just plan on using the ribbon to give them some color....though....wonder if you could spray paint them bright colors.
  9. oops...link doesn't work. Anyways, just search bamboo fans, you'll find it. They are $7.95 per dozen.
  10. I am getting my fans at Oriental Trading post. They ship to Canada, and don't seem too expensive. http://image.orientaltrading.com/otc...resize(250x250)
  11. Hi all I was wondering if anyone is giving their WC any type of gift? Seems that we bring things down for staff as tips, etc. Anyone getting anything special for their Wedding Coordinators? Lisa
  12. Thanks for the download! Now, i have to figure out how to read the one! lol. (Not so computer savvy!)
  13. wow! You guys are amazing! Thanks for the great ideas! For any Canadians out there...if you look in the summer time, Superstores carry travel mugs for $1.00. Just an FYI.
  14. thanks. I really liked that he found a ring that said "lisa" You know? Plus, he knew me well enough to pick it out himself! AND, the symbols have meanings. (The lady who handmakes them researches the symbols on the rings.) Added to that, they are a globally conscious company and help build houses in the countries they get their stones from. Yes...my FI is a good boy! lol
  15. I am actually creating a puzzle book for my guests...though, more for the plan ride than by the pool. (maybe) I am going to do a crossword puzzles that incorporates clues from all my guests lives. (That way, people have to talk to one another.) As well as word searches with spanish words. (With english meaning beside them.) A crypogram that is a thank you letter from my FI and myself....
  16. I would leave out things like sunscreen....as they should be bringing their own. Someone told me i should pack bug repellent...cause cuba have mosquitos and night. (??) Never thought of a travel candle...
  17. My FI bought my engagement and wedding ring here. And, he picked it out ALL on his own! No input from me! I love it! Designer Wedding Rings, Diamond Engagement Rings & Wedding Ring Sets My ring is called "wind and waves" Its white gold with waves etched in it. The stone is a sapphire. (I hate diamonds.)
  18. I think they are a hit! GOod job! I sent you a request for the template as well! (grins) We are ALL going to copy you!
  19. Hi there I was thinking of creating a puzzle book as well. Only, i was going to give it to my guests in the plane...complete with a personalized pen with our wedding date on it. That way, they can do it in the plane. I was going to have a crossword in there....but use clues from the guests lives. That way, they have to talk to one another to get the answers. (Great way for everyone to get aquainted.) I was going to create cryptograms that are messages from the bride and groom. A thank you letter basically. As well as word search in spanish. (With english beside it.) Perhaps a puzzle that tells how my FI and i met. Things like that.
  20. where did you get those luggage tags? There great!
  21. Hi. I was wondering about itinerary's....if you really need them? Should you have something figured out when people are there? Or let everyone "fend for themselves"? How did everyone figure out what they wanted to DO with their guests. IE...how did you find out about a bonfire on the beach? Or, cocktail parties? Did you ask your WC at the resort?? I guess I think i should have SOMETHING planned for my guests...even something small. I like the idea of inviting people on an excursion...but that everyone pays their own way. If they want to come....how did you decide which day to do this? Did you book ahead?? (Sorry for all the questions...but i am still unsure about this.) Lisa
  22. this is a great idea! I am going to work on one myself. Add that to my welcome letter...and pamplet....eeks!!!
