  1. oh...yes..fonts....i want to change those....just forgot! (Sarah gave me some that I LOVE...) Problem is....i can't figure out where they download to. Or how to get them to work. So, when my FI comes home, I will get him to show me. And I will use different fonts. I thought I had centered them...though....having really never created anything in powerpoint before....other than stealing Morgans stuff....i had trouble with that. I will try to center them better! I would LOVE to work on yours Courtney! Or, send you this when its done, and you can add your own menu to it. I am going to try to get it right, then print it off and see how I want to display it. I will let everyone know and have a looksee when its done! Thanks girls!

    Hi!

Welcome!! Glad you realized that your first wedding wasn't "you". I know so many brides that have the wedding their parents want, and then regret it! Good for you! And, congrats!!!
  3. thanks!! I used the wording the resort gave me! I changed it in my version! Thanks for the help!! the food actually might change. (I haven't finallized it with my FI. And, we haven't decided exactly what we want. Like...surf and turf for the main coarse!!)
  4. laughs!!! I didn't notice that either! Though, this isn't a finalized menu....just a sample one. I haven't decided how i am going to make them pretty yet. Can't wait to see yours Tami!!
  5. Hey there Any suggestions or help would be appreciated! I started playing around with my menu cards. I am going to print them out on tan cardstock and stack them behind colored paper. (Or, something like that...we will see what I can come up with!) If anyone has any other suggestions, or sees something that I should fix, let me know!!! I couldn't figure out how to upload a powerpoint presentation...everytime i did, it told me it was an invalid file. Else I would upload that instead of a picture. (If anyone can guide me through uploading that instead, i will upload the menu.)
  6. Ok, so I thought I would try using POwepoint myself, instead of stealing something from Morgan! <laughs> So, i started working on my menu cards. I really like how the printing turned out. (This is a first draft...as i still am uncertain on what our menu will be exactly.) i would attach a powerpoint file....but i can't seem to get it to work.
  7. I don't work today. Its Family Day in canada....so, day off for me. So, i am going to be sewing....though, right now...i am stuck on the board! <laughs> Darn addictive board!!
  8. Wow! Four weeks....and here we took 2 years to get to our wedding day! lol. (I am thinking we waited too long!) Congrats and have fun! I would love to see all your preparations!
  9. I don't like that Allison....she is slimy too. I just wanted to hit her!!
  10. let me know what the bags are like. I want to order bags, but want something a bit larger. (Size wise...something you could take to the beach and put your beach towel in.) Thanks!
  11. I like it! <laughs> And, i like the image...but then again, I'm a Halloween girl. (Its my favorite holiday!!)
  12. Ohhhh....you used Brain Candy!! <laughs> I LOVE that!!! Very cool. I have a question....where are you getting your tote bags? I was looking at the ones on Oriental Trading POst. They are cheap, but upon looking at them...they are VERY small. Where are you getting yours? I only want to spend like, a dollar on them...but I don't want teeny tiny ones either.
  13. Welcome! You will find everyone is SUPER nice and a GREAT help!!!! Happy planning! And be prepared to have NOTEBOOKS full of great ideas from these gals!!
  14. I lOVE the notepads you created! How did you create those? Where did you have them printed! What a great idea!!!
  15. My quote.... We are going to the Sandals Hicacos for 7 nights. It came to $2000 per person, all taxes in, flying from Saskatoon. And, when I was looking, Cuba was cheaper than MExico. Many of the TA i talked to said you couldn't get to Mexico for under $2000. (Unless you got a REALLY good deal.) Our budget was we wanted to spend no more than $2000 per person. You have the option of trying to book an online deal...but the problem with that is the fact that you may not get ALL your guests there. If you book through a TA, at least you can get a fixed Group Rate, and have a guarantee all your guests will be at the same resort. My TA is awesome! If you want, I can send you her name. She is really good at finding a place for your budget. (Though, I think that may be a little low....)
  16. thanks for the ideas! I tried googling some more ideas....and got pretty much the same ones everyone is quoting! <laughs> Though, i REALLY like the Rose Ceremony. The Rose Exchange (Short Version) In the elegant language of flowers, red roses are a symbol of love, the giving of a single red rose is a clear and unmistakable way of saying the words "I love you." For this reason it is fitting that the first gift you exchange as husband and wife would be the gift of a single red rose. Please exchange your first gift as husband and wife. You both have given and received one of the most valuable and precious gifts of life - one I hope you always remember - the gift of true and abiding love within the devotion of marriage. ______ and ______ I would ask that wherever you may make your home, that you choose a special location. And at those times when words fail, that you leave a red rose at that spot you have both selected -- a rose that will say what matters more than all other words..."I still love you; The other should accept this rose for the words that cannot be found, and remember the love and hope that you both have shared today. The Red Rose Exchange (long version) The Bride & Groom give each other a red Rose as their first gift as husband & wife. Two roses are all that is necessary. ______ and ______ your gift to each other for your wedding today has been your wedding rings - which shall always be an outward demonstration of your vows of love and respect; and a public showing of your commitment to each other. You now have the most honorable title that may exist between a man and a woman - the title of "husband" and "wife." In the elegant language of flowers, red roses are a symbol of love; the giving of a single red rose is a clear and unmistakable way of saying the words "I love you." You both have given and received one of the most valuable and precious gifts of life - one I hope you always remember - the gift of true and abiding love within the devotion of marriage. In every marriage there are times when it is difficult to find the right words, and the ones we love the most are the ones we can most easily hurt. There are times when it may be difficult to say "I'm sorry" or "I forgive you" or "I need you" or "I'm hurting." ______ and ______I would ask that wherever you may make your home, that you choose a special location. 17. I LOVE this idea!! And, i went to the Blurp website! VERY cool! I am going to make a wedding book from it! (After we get married!!) What a great way to show all your pictures! And great gifts for fmaily members too! Thanks for sharing!
  18. I like the idea of personalizing my ceremony. At first, i thought it would be nice to throw something into the ocean...as an offering or something. Like shells, or rocks, or crystals. (Which, we still might do, only...maybe in private.) I found this ceremony, that I am going to tweak a bit. I really love the idea of...when you are steaming mad and being stubborn, and not wanting to say sorry....a rose says it for you. *********************************** The Rose Exchange In the elegant language of flowers, red roses are a symbol of love; the giving of a single red rose is a clear and unmistakable way of saying the words "I love you." 19. Hi all. I tried searching to see if anyone had any other ideas, but maybe couldn't find the right wording to use in a search. I was wondering what people are doing to personalize their wedding ceremony. We all know about writing our own vows. And, adding sand ceremonies, etc. I was thinking more of the unusual ways. Like, in another post, someone talked about throwing seashells into the ocean after they have been wished upon. Or rocks. Does anyone else have any cool and unique ways they are personalizing their weddings??
  20. I am planning on doing a boarding pass invite for my reception bbq when we come back from our wedding. I don't think there is anything wrong with that! It just shows your unique style. (Plus, for a Destination wedding...it is fitting, don't you think!) I say go with the boarding pass invites!
  21. I was looking for something to incorporate the ocean into my wedding as well. Something where you threw something into it....i like the wishing shell thing. Thanks!!!
  22. Hi there I am a sandals Bride to be as well. Though, Sandals Hicacos I think all Sandals are different. Or, at least mine seems different. I don't have to pay for a reception. Though, they WON'T seat us all at a restaurant together, due to the fact its a couples only resort and they don't like having large tables in the restaurants. So, we are renting the banquet room. This resort hasn't given me any other info though. No welcome party, or anything. I have to organize that myself. There really wasn't all that many options for us. <shrugs> Other than wedding locations. I even asked about having a bonfire on the beach, or a supper on the beach....but was told they don't do that. So, we will see what happens!
