  1. Wow! That is definately the best way to describe that slideshow! I was in tears! So so beautiful!

If the resort has a downfall, it's getting a hold of Charm! It is nearly impossible. But I have talked to a few brides from there and they all tell me that when you get to the resort she is great and gives you tons of attention. They also say that the ambiance of the resort and great staff make up for having a difficult time getting in touch with her while planning. It can definately be frustrating at times though. I still have quite a bit to plan, but I also have done TONS of research on the resort so if you have any questions please ask! And here's a tip: If Charm doesn't reply to your emails or calls, send a message to the contact on SATPs website and they will make sure Charm gets in touch with you!
  3. Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate the advice. Sometimes a girls just gotta vent you know!?
  4. The following link doesn't really help out with a thank-you note to the parents, but it will help those of you out needing to write thank-you notes for gifts received: Wedding Thank You Cards Sample Wording - Make Writing Thank You Cards Easy By Following These Examples
  5. I feel like I took on too much. I am a university student right now in my 4th year of my education degree, a dance instructor, and planning a wedding. On top of that, my fiance just got a job in another city and will be moving right away while I stay here (he's moving about two hours away -- great opportunity though so he had to take it). This is hard because we've lived together and never been apart for the 6 years we've been together. Plus, my uncle (whom I've been really close with all my life) is in the hospital dying of cancer, my fiance's grandmother was just told by her doctor that she has a year to live, and to top it off, I'm sick! Anyway, sorry to sound like such a complainer, and clearly I digress, but I actually do have a question out of all of this, especially for those that are teachers or university students themselves. I am thinking about withrawing from just one course in school. I think that it might just remove enough stress to keep me from going crazy! What I am worried about though is will it effect my chances of employment when I finish school (I know principles will look at transcripts). I have actually been on the Dean's list in the past, but I don't want all my hard work to be ruined just because of one "W" on my transcript. Anyone know anything about this? I'll stop now before this post turns into a novel!

It would be very helpful to see how the chairs were spread out and stuff.
  9. Everything looks wonderful! I especially love that parasol...gorgeous!
  10. Thanks everyone for your nice comments! I'm really not that creative of a person but looking at all the great ideas out there on these forums inspires me! I am always in so much awe of everyone elses diy stuff and its so hard because I want to do it all!

There was no bridal shower and sadly no bacherlorette party unless I plan it for myself and pay for it!! I'm the only one out of the "group" to get married. I'm sorry, i just had to vent! I'm in the same boat! None of my bridesmaids are married, and none have made any attempt to plan a shower or bachelorette party or anything for me. Infact, only one of them has applied for their passport and we leave within 3 months! I love them, but yeah, as you put it, not the most responsible girls!
  12. How cute! I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
  13. Welcome to the forum! As you probably know already there are TONS of Riu brides here that I know can provide you with lots of great information! I am getting married in Jamaica too but at Sunset at the Palms. Happy Planning!!
  14. Have you tried customizing a menu with your wc? Sometimes in Jamaica it works best if you say "I have ____ amount of dollars to spend, what can I get for that?"
