  1. Hi Tammy: I have a bunch left over from my old style of luggage tags that I don't sell anymore. I'll send you an e-mail - I can throw them in with your other items if the timing works.
  2. Having had Nathaniel as my photographer... I whole heartedly agree. Seriously, he's the nicest person you've ever met, totally responsive and so easy to work with. And (oh yeah), he's an amazing photographer. Taking Nathaniel to Mexico was the best decision we made in all of our wedding planning. (Choice of the groom is a close second.)
  3. Thanks ladies! I can't tell you how fun it is for me to know you by name for your monograms and then come and see your monograms here so that I can tie you to your user names. I'm absolutely loving designing these monograms for you all!
  4. Yay Lauren!!! I can't believe it's just a week! It will drag like nobody's business between now and Friday, I'm sure. But you're going to have the best time and we can't wait for your photos!
  5. Yay!!!!! You're a Mrs!!!! Congratulations - your photos were absolutely amazing!!!! And you were stunning - but how could you not be?!?! I'm glad you're back - we've missed you!
  6. I think you may see a lot more about people flying photogs not because it's more common, but because it's something that gives people more trepidation. LOTS and LOTS of brides use local phptogs or their hotel photogs. Personally, I did fly someone down (Nathaniel Thompson - I'm a huge fan!!!!) but that was mostly circumstantial - if he hadn't been available, I would have gone with a local photog. But take a look at the work your hotel photog has posted, I'm sure they have a website, and see what you think. If you love it and can imagine your own album looking like their style, GO FOR IT!
  7. On the shirts front, DH wore an ecru linen suit with a white suit, and my dress was ivory as well. He also wore a pink and blue tie, so maybe that broke it up a bit, but I thought it looked great! We thought about a cream colored shirt, but decided that he would be too monochrome if he were in all cream.
  8. E-bay is a really good option for these. There are a couple of China-based sellers that have some really cute charms. They are just some sort of base metal - not silver, pewter or anything of note - but certainly good enough for invites, etc. Just search for starfish charms or something like that.
  9. Have you saved it to photobucket? That's the easiest way to load images onto BDW.
  10. Thanks ladies! I loved putting everything together for my wedding - hence the reason I'm doing it as a sideline, now. The wedding was almost 11 months ago (wow!), and I still love everything we did! As far as how long it all took? I couldn't even begin to guess. However, we got engaged at Christmas, started planning in February and got married in August, so it wasn't any longer than that.
  11. I think you have 60 minutes or something to change the text on a post. It's not very long. But I think its only the mods who can change the names of threads and/or make them sticky.
  12. Ann - you can find almost everything you need there. The really American things (peanut butter, for example) will be more expensive, but places like Harrods will have them (the peanut butter was really expensive). But mostly you'll find familiar brands of all sorts of things. My two thoughts would possibly be (1) Advil, if you use that (people tell me that the ibuprofen there is different somehow), and (2)formula if Gwen is still on it (not something I ever looked for) - I wouldn't risk upsetting her tummy with a full-blown brand change, so maybe bring some of that and slowly start introducing her to something local. When I went, I had the luxury of a week's trip prior, and went into Boots (the local version of Rite Aid/CVS/Longs) and they carry everything - right down to the same contact lens solutions, shampoos, hair sprays, etc. And all of your department store brand cosmetics are there, too. Oh! Dryer sheets. I had a friend bring me dryer sheets when she came to visit because the ones I was finding didn't work as well somehow (and I love my downy dryer sheets), also, it's difficult to find chlorine bleach - they mostly have non-chlorine bleaches which work just fine, but not the same with whites. Not that you're going to carry liquid bleach, but just be prepared if you're a bleach fan. They do have Dreft and some of the other pro-baby detergents. I was actually very impressed and surprised at how many biologically/eco-friendly products they have (they call them "bio"). Maybe post a list of the specific things you think you might need to take with you (or PM or e-mail me) and we can let you know if you can find it there?
  13. Yay!!! Happy anniversary!! Oh dear... where does the time go!?
  14. I love the dress! It's perfect for a beach wedding - the color is spectacular! If you think it's the one, you MUST HAVE IT.
  15. Yay!!!! Congratulations! It sounds amazing! Now get off the computer and go enjoy your wedding week! ...unless you have photos, of course!
  16. I have to agree with Sandra. Just tell him you found them while you were cleaning and ask him what he wants to do with them. If you were to reverse the situation, and he were to have found old letters or photos of you with an ex, and tossed them without consulting you first, would you be okay with it? Personally, it would tick me off, because there might be a reason I was keeping them - like may be the letters point out to him all the things he did wrong in that relationship and he keeps them to remind him what not to do. It's a stretch, but better to just tell him you found them and not risk him feeling like you're invading his privacy or trying to somehow get rid of his past.

I am trying to decide whether to use one from there, or fly one in. I want most of my pictures to be candid, so I need someone who is good at being unseen so they can get some great shots. I will still get the standard pics of us with certain family members, but I don't want to spend two hours taking posed pics of us with our wedding party. Any recommendations for a photog who takes great candids? Also, how long did you have your photog there for? I am thinking I want someone from when I am getting dressed through to at least the start of the dancing. And one more question, how many of you did a video of the ceremony and who did you use for that? How did it turn out? Ahh! So many questions. Now that my day is booked and I've almost got things arranged for the price, I am getting so excited. I don't think I've slept well in 3 weeks now. Can you imagine when I actually get close to the day You will love Carlos. We didn't have the lighted floor, but the pictures do look so amazing! As far as photogs, we brought ours down - Nathaniel Thomspon - and I LOOOOOOOOOVE him! Can't say enough. Really. If you decide to bring someone with you, talk to Nathaniel. And for time - I think you will probably want someone there to take some photos of the dancing as well - we love the photos from the party. Not necessarily until the bitter end, but at least for the first hour or so. Of course, we had Nathaniel to the bitter end, which meant he got photos of us getting in the pool at midnight. Good luck!
  18. Oh seriously!!!! Who do we have to petition to stop the rain already! I swear I'm getting webbed toes.
  19. I'm a big fan of Duri's Rejuvacote. My nails peel terribly and it really does help.
  20. Hi Ladies!!! I feel like I'm always apologizing for being MIA... but I do miss and love you! I guess it will be more like June/July 2010 if possible. We are planning on going on a site visit in late fall to finalize our location. Is this too little planning time? Also, where can I find more Paradisus Wedding Reviews/Pictures? Thanks for any help! Sara Hi Sara! Welcome to the party! There are a bunch of photos of the resort and setups in my slideshow - Chris and Rebecca's Wedding by Nathaniel Thompson Photography Quote: Originally Posted by featherchick Does anyone happen to have Perla's direct phone number?
