  1. I want to do it too but I am thinking I need to do it a little closer to my wedding. Maybe like two weeks before. I know if I do it now, I will gain all of the weight back before the wedding once I start eating normal.

  3. I was actually just going to start a thread like this becaues I have been thinking about this a lot. I wanted to know if anyone tired the Nivea Cellulite remover. It comes with a pack of pills. GOOD-BYE CELLULITE HELLO BIKINI CHALLENGE - NIVEA I find the the only time my cellulite is not as noticeable is in the morning when I first get up. I think that is just because of dehydration. It's no fair, my mom doesn't have any cellulite!!!
  4. Here is my experience. I did not have a RSVP deadline and never heard from some of my invitees. When it got to about two weeks to the payment deadline, I actually called these people to make sure they were not going. I do not know what other brides have done that may have worked. After the STDs, we only sent invitations to those who booked their trip. We are also sending some to our grandmas who can't come mostly for a keepsake. I think the rule is there really are no rules. Just do what makes most sense for your situation and guests.

I am so sorry and really know what you are going through. My dad is having a really tough time right now and is not going either. At least I do not think he is going because he has never mentioned my wedding to me since we got engaged in November. I am sending you good thoughts that they will surprise you and make it. Are you having an AHR? Maybe you could do your father/daughter dance then?
  6. Here is a picture I found of her boy fairy on her photog's website (she is also my photog). I like his scab on his head - such a boy. He wore little tiny black shorts that just covered his diaper and this white t-shirt. The were originally going to have him go without a shirt! Poor kid. Abigail Kreuser Gallery

He was 1.5 years old and wore these black wings and a mohawk. Sounds a little odd but it was super cute. The funny thing was he was scared out of his mind by the wings. He screamed the whole way down the ailse while he kept looking back at the wings - trying to run away from them. Not the churubic scene I think my sister was trying to capture!
  8. My sister had her 2 year old daughter as a fairy in her wedding last summer. They got married in this beautiful garden near Pikes Peak in Colorado so it was perfect. Here is a pic of my neice Lola as a fairy.
  9. Wow, I am really impressed. You really have done a great job pulling everything together. I love your guest book. I wish my FI was as stylish as yours! I had to beg him to agree to tuck in his shirt. You are going to have a really beautiful wedding!
  10. I used to use crest strips all of the time and they really work. Now, they kill my teeth. I can only wear them for about 30 seconds before excrutiating pain begins shooting up my teeth. It does the same to my FI. If you can stand them though use them. My BM uses them and has the whitest teeth I have ever seen. We recently bought the Aquafresh trays (actually we bought the Target brand). These burned our gums a little but we did not have any tooth sensitivity. We just finished one box and will do another before the wedding. It lighted my FI's teeth about 2 shades in one box.
  11. Wow, the sweetheart neckline made the dress even more perfect. You look great!
  12. BDW girls could rule the world! You guys are really great. Ann, I just read this thread and the one where Gwen was born, and I can't believe your story. I am so happy for your family that Gwen is getting bigger and stronger every day. I think driving (or a train) is your safest bet. If you do drive, make sure the car or SUV has a GPS or buy yourself one. In case you need to find a hospital or anything right away, this will make your life a lot easier. I think the drive would be about 33 hours. That of course is without stopping all of the time for the baby. This wouldn't be too horrible if you had some people to share the trip with.
  13. I just read this thread today, and I'm rooting for you!! What did you end up doing exactly to lose those lbs?
  14. This is one of my favorite conversations to have with people. I went to high school with a guy named Jammin. That was his birth name. He played guitar and had long hair, so it was perfect. (He was dreamy - lol) The worst name I ever heard. Stormy Weather. I heard it called during a graduation ceremony. I had to look down at the program to make sure that was what I heard.
  15. A friend of mine is making mine. She took one look at the veils at the bridal salons and she said she could do it at a fraction of the cost. It is so cheap to make (just a simple veil on a comb) that she said if I choose not to wear it, it is no big deal.

We decided to leave it down because of time and my MOH was having heck trying to get it to look right up. The hairdresser told me to use White Sands Medium Hold Liquid Texture. Its a heat activated hairspry. We had to buy it from her but it was amazing. It was fantastic and I didn't feel like my hair weighed a ton. It was not that windy on the beach but was VERY windy on the sailboat ride back. My hair didn't get frizzy or blow all over the place. It moved, it wasn't like my hair was stone. It was super humid too. Plan for both and see how everything goes the first couple of days you are there then decide. So to answer your question...YES I would wear my hair down again. I love product!!! You did a great job with your hair because it looked fantastic. Very romantic and beachy!
  17. Great pics, Mandy. You looked amazing in your dress. I really like your hair too. Did you get it done by someone at EDR?

My one big advice would be to just enjoy the ceremony- I didn't think I'd be nervous -at all-- and I kinda freaked out. The ceremony is kinda blurry bc I was all crying and emotional (embarrassing now- )-- but I just wished I had taken a huge deep breath right before and enjoyed every second and let it sink in--- I told my DH we needed a "do-over" where I wasn't crying and all over the place! (preferably at EDR with a week long vacation along with it-hehe) It's funny you wrote this, because my boss just gave me the same advice. She told me to just take my time, breathe, and try to make myself look at everyone as I walk down the aisle. A friend of ours who had a DW recently said she would have enjoyed hers more if she didn't worry as much about the details and just let the resort do their job - which they obviously seem to know how to do well. Don't be embarrassed about crying, Shannon, it is such an emotional moment. It is very sweet actually.

They did great with the music- I was worried about that too. Also, they just played straight from the iPOD at the reception- it worked out really well-- you have no worries! Thanks Shannon. Do you sign your certificate during the ceremony? Do you suggest I include a song for that with the CD? How long does it take? I'm so thrilled there are so many new EDR brides just back to answer all of my insanely neurotic questions!!!!!

I felt like the lily's I played around with were too big for me.

Ooohhh, I like that idea too! My sis is a fantastic hairdresser and doing my hair. I'm sure she could do something like that. We will not be able to do a trial run until a couple of days before the wedding.
  22. Ladies, As I begin to plan final details (and have a mild anxiety attack every day), I wanted to ask you about what I should do with my hair for the wedding. I have been growing out my hair, and it is pretty long now. I sort of envisioned myself with sort of long wavy hair, maybe half up for the ceremony. Maybe like this (I will have a veil and flower too) Did any of you who wore your hair down (or mostly down) regret it? I'm afraid my hair will get stringy because of the humid salty air and wind. Everytime I go to Mexico, I always end up wearing my hair up because it is so hot as it is. It will also be in JULY!!! I live in Louisiana, so my hair is used to humidity but it is different in Mexico. In other words, I'm begining to have doubts and am thinking I should wear it up now. Thoughts?
  23. Okay, I am obviously in the worrying mood today, but how did everyone do their ceremony music at EDR? I asked this before and some people said ipod and some said cd. If you did cd did you have all of the processional songs on one disk (or playlist) and the recessional song on another?

However, she did switch her reception from Tucanes to the Health Bar as she liked it's location across from the beach better. We did get a geat breeze there that you don't get at Tucanes, and they actually leave 4 or 5 tables with the chairs at the back of the Health Bar. It did keep some people back there rather than dancing, but they seemed to be glad for a place to relax and they probably wouldn't have danced anyway. The Health Bar also has a pool beside it and we had the large flowers from the gazebo cut into 2 pieces and floated in the pool along with some lanterns (Raphaela's idea - the head WC at EDR). Thank you so much for the reassurance. We are having a reception at the Health Bar as well, so I am now very excited. I'm so glad that person posted that picture and review on Trip Advisor. It does look nice with all of the foliage. Thanks again for taking the time to look at it!
  25. I think a lot of us are going through this. I found it was helpful to book through a travel agent that will include flight and hotel in one amount. Some places will let you set up payment plans. My FI and I made monthly payments towards our trip as well as many of our guests. Also, I don't know about Dreams Cancun, but at EDR we do not have to finalize anything until 30 days before the wedding. If this is the case, you can at least put your names on the books and downsize as needed depending on your guestlist. People will find a way to go. We found out a friend of ours took out a loan to go. I almost started crying when I heard that. Good luck.
