I had to argue to get them to go bring the other one, and told them we were assured that they would be brought to the dinner to be used as centerpieces. Then, we had paid extra to have the medallions cut into two pieces and floated in the pool at the Health Bar (this was Raphaela's idea along with floating lanterns). Again, they only did the one. I didn't bother arguing this time, but I did go in the next morning and got my money back for the extra lantern I had paid for that wasn't used. So our experience was totally the opposite of yours as to their willingness to decorate using items we had already purchased. We were told if we didn't take the medallions with us at the end of the night they would go into the trash can, so we took them back to our rooms for the rest of the week. I've experienced sort of the same thing. Monica told me they can only move decorations and/or centerpieces one time. I had to choose to have the hanging bouquets either moved to the dinner or to the reception at another location. Sounds like Shannon lucked out!!
  2. What fun pics! You looked awesome in your dress. Congrats!!
  3. You should look at Mrs. V's pictures of her wedding. She posted her link a couple of weeks ago. She had her dinner at the health bar and has some amazing shots of it. There is a big pool on one side and the ocean on the other. That is where I am having mine and am so excited after seeing her pics!
  4. I wasn't planning on doing anything either, but my friend bought me a cute tote that says 'Bride' on it. I was planning on using that tote as my carry on, especially because she'll be on the flight with us! I'm sure you could make something cute if you really wanted to wear a veil on the plane. I

  6. Our OOT bags are also gender neutral (mostly meds, snacks, and a few fun things like coozies). We just got the single guys black beach bags. Other guests are getting aqua and yellow bags.
  7. I think the Casita Gazebo only holds up to 8 people now. I am getting married at the presidential gazebo in July. I can let you know what it is like and how private it is. What time of day is your wedding?

Absolutely love David Sedaris - Amy Sedaris has written some funny stuff too! Amy Tan also writes good beach reads.
  9. Inappropriate Men by Stacy Ballis is a great beach read. Shes Come Undone by Wally Lamb might be a good one too.
  10. You guys are doing such a great job. I have been monitoring the thread and will try to do two weeks before the wedding. What has everyone lost so far? I'm dying to know the final numbers at the end of the week. Keep up the hard work!
  11. Ladies, whether you got married by a judge or a minister at EDR, did you tip them? How much?

I might have reserved the wedding location a little earlier maybe 5 months out now that I think of it.
  13. I have had some communication with Monica this week. She has been pretty responsive with me. A lot of EDR girls really liked Valeria though so maybe try to switch?
  14. Congratulations. Those are great pics. I can't believe how amazing the water looked in all of the pictures. It looked like a perfect day. I loved your cake too!
  15. That is a great list. We have very similar tastes in music. I have almost all of these songs.
  16. Shannon, I love your dress and the red and pink on the beach just POPS! You guys looked beautiful.

HELP!My guests really want my advice on this, and I don't know what to tell them. I haven't sent my newsletters out yet, so they probably don't know anything about this yet. That is good to know you can book excursions through other companies. Hopefully some other EDR girls can tell you what their guests did. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

It's such a dreamy version. Everyone commented on how much they loved our music! Tami, I am so copying you and am using Just Like Heaven for my bridal party. I love the Cure, so finding this song that is more wedding appropriate was perfect. Thanks for sharing. Here it is if anyone doesn't know it. YouTube - Katie Melua - Just Like Heaven' I will walk down to Forever by Ben Harper. I love him and have seen him in concert a few times. He comes in for Jazz fest sometimes. YouTube - Ben Harper- Forever Processional song - Island in the sun by Weezer. I know a lot of girls on the forum use this song in their playlists. My FI and I love Weezer and this song can't get more summery! My sister used I'm a Believer, so I don't want to steal her song, even though that is the perfect processional song! 20. Congrats! I love the action shot of you throwing the bouquet. You are smiling ear to ear - entirely too adorable.

Thanks I am pretty sure you have to book excursions through Lomas Travel at EDR. Here is their website. Transfers, Tours and Hotels in Cancun by Lomas Travel - Online Reservations and Travel Vacations I included this in my newsletter for my guests, so putting it on your wedding website is a good idea.

I was thinking brown rice.
