Just walked in my door - I need for you to make a post on the BDW forum to warn all girls that are planning on bringing in outside photog & any destination wedding photogs that have weddings booked there. I have never in my life been as scared as I was yesterday evening (my last night at the resort) - the goons at the Photoshop had one of the bellboys come threaten me during (another bride's) reception in the disco. He was trying to pull me out, demanding my room #, etc. Was so glad it was my last day there & would be leaving this am. I am going to lodging a formal complaint with the main office of the RIU, and so is the bride - she was livid!!! I'll also put out there that we had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS AT ALL with Michael or Photoshop. We booked a FREE package - and Michael is not notified of those weddings. HOpefully, if you book the free package and bring an outside photographer nobody will bother you... Heidi.........any updates on this situation? I wonder if it was a BDW bride?
  2. Did you get your cake topper from ebay. We have the exact same kind. I added bling to mine, but i am not planning on having a fancy cake stand. Here are the pics: our cake:
  3. If your cake is pretty plain, go for it.......bling it out, but if you are using that cake stand, i think you should try to keep things simple. The cake stand design draws in alot of attention just by itself.
  4. OMG Lizz!!! I'm going thorough the EXACT same thing right now as we speak!! But my problem is on BOTH ENDS. People that didn't rsvp, suddenly calling me for my TA's info (after it was already sent in the invite, reminder, and posted on our website) and people that did RSVP, but I'm finding out through the grapevine that they are not coming.......didn't even call me to let me know. I've cried and screamed plenty of times regarding this issue. I even have some people that haven't even gotten their passports yet! This has absolutely been the worst part of the wedding planning process by far!
  5. what can you guys recommend that smells literally like fresh laundry!! Clean, light, airy, not to strong or overpowering, but very beachy. I've searched high and low but still can't find anything. I even purchased Light Blue.......loved it when i tried it in the store, but when i got home and wore it the next day, it almost gave me a headache. I want something very subtle and fresh. Any suggestions??
  6. I'm suddenly considering trying to make a wedding banner for our reception. Me and FI got into a huge argument about our proper name introduction. He wants us to be introduced as Mr. and Mrs. John Doe........but I am choosing to hyphenate my name so I wanted us to be introduced as Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Jane Day-Doe....... To make a long story short, he's not having that, so we decided to compromise and have his introduction, but something at the reception site letting people know what my full name is, so i thought that maybe a wedding banner would be a good idea. Now the problem is, how the heck do you make it!! Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!!
  7. Okay, i just finished with mine. We got the same exact one that you got, but we got ours in gold and i ordered swarovski crystals is jazz it up. HEre is our topper and our cake: our cake:
  8. That's a good idea Maura. I'll check to see if she carries peach. I can't remember if i saw it on her website. I also told her that I wanted alot of mini-cala's to make it look fuller, but she said she only carries them in one size, so she seems a bit limited.
  9. that's true carly, i didn't even think about that!!! I'll wait to see if the new sample is any better before I make any rash decisions. She said that she would send it tomorrow so we'll see.
  10. I just sent her an email and she is going to send me another sample tomorrow. She said that the cala's are actually more orangy, but it's hard to tell from the picture. Here is what the mango ones look like on her website: WedIdeas.com - Wedding Silk Flowers for the Unique Bride - More Flowers I sent her an inspiration picture in the very beginning. I hope i like the new sample better. On the bright side, she was very nice and really wants to make me happy, so that is good!

I didn't see any on her site that I liked in particular so i just told her the kind of arrangement that I wanted and she sent this to me.

Anywho, I sent Chandlyn an email to see about splitting the layers and of course, I've been waiting for her to respond. I think the resort is charging $250 for the cake that I want.

[email protected] I'm actually considering that!! I have a love/hate relationship with my planning......i'm constantly complaining about how busy i am, but anytime that i have a free second, I'm daydreaming about what I should do next. I think that i'm addicted!!!

  16. I ordered my silk flowers online (AA was fully booked so i had to go elsewhere). I just got a sample pic of what my bouquet looks like (except it will have chocolate satin instead of the green) I don't know if i like it all that much. It looks kinda fake to me and I don't like the fillers. What do you guys think. Please give me your HONEST opionions.

  18. Just finished my cake topper. I posted pictures on the very first page. It's kinda blurry, but i will update later.
  19. this is cute and RIGHT ON! I sent it to FI!!!
  20. I think that you will be okay. I just sent mine off 3 weeks ago and got an email from Chandlyn saying that they received it this past monday. If you send it REGISTERED today, it should get there in time for your wedding. I would also follow up with Chandlyn to let her know that you've already mailed it off. btw: Sending them overnight is going to be SOOOO EXPENSIVE!!!
  21. You are not alone........My dad is from Kingston and my mom is from Spanish Town (St. Catherine) and most of my family that is attending the wedding are Jamaican.......honestly, I don't like rum cake, but they would KILL ME if i didn't have traditional rum cake. I think this is a standard option at Riu. I am asking Chandlyn to split the layers.....one layer, traditional rum cake, the other layer, yellow....maybe.
  22. Finally, I was able to access it when i went home............everything looks great!! You are so cute!!! I"m so excited that I'll be there soon. Thanks for taking so many great pictures! You guys look like you had a blast!!
  23. i have less than a month left......how long would it take for me to start seeing a difference? I've already been wearing a waist cincher for about 2 months, but I need my waist to be more defined. I'll try the plank......heading off to the gym. thanks for all of your input ladies!
