  1. I finally made up my mind . I will have my wedding (may 10th) at Riu Ochi (staying May 6 - 15) and then we are going to Couples Ochi (15-20th) for our honeymoon. I love riu for the luxury of the resort and rooms, but Couples seems nice for all the activities included in their price (scuba diving, snorkling, horseback riding, etc) My question: Couples Ochi recently refurbished SOME of their rooms....does anyone know which rooms are the newer, nicer ones? Please let me know!! Thanks!!
  2. I am having my ceremony @ 4:30 and then dinner @ 6:00pm....and I am still changing. I have a wedding gown and a reception gown. I don't know if I will change before or after dinner. We are renting the disco right after dinner.

It's like a little gift every time he puts it on...haha They say scents evoke the strongest memories.... Mine was Vera Wang, the orginal wedding scent (she has like 4 I think). Hubby wore L'Homme by Yves St. Laurant. Both very light and happy scents. Good luck! I completly agree with you starchild! Certain smells always bring back memories and I want to have a signature fragrance for this special day. Everytime I (he) smells it, I want that smell to take us right back to our wedding day. Also, another thing that is making this so hard for me is that I wear different scents almost everyday. It just depends on the kind of mood that I'm in. I'm a nut......I go CRAZY at the Victoria Secret and Bed & Bath Semi Annual sales and pretty much own every different type of lotion that they carry in the store. So far, I like D&G Light Blue and whatdouknow.....Britney Spears Fantasy. I'm gonna keep looking & smelling around.
  4. Help!!!! I'm trying to find a clean, light, fresh fragrance for Jamaica. I don't want anything to strong, because it is very humid there. Any suggestions? what are you ladies wearing?

  6. OMG Hopels!!!! Can't wait!!..........sorry for also hijacking!!. Pouchie, your postcards are so cute!! I would just go to the stationary store (like staples, or office depot) and get the premade/precut table cards and print your postcard design on them.
  7. Hmmm....i don't want all white. Does anyone know of a really inexpensive place that rents linen or chaircovers in Los Angeles (or is willing to ship online)? Thanks!!
  8. That's great Calia! Thanks for the info. I"ll order it online.
  9. Great!! Thanks Lizz! Did the "Please Post Stamp Here" already come printed on your postcards or did you do that yourself? I'm asking because I've ordered postcards from vistaprint before and they never come with that section.
  10. what if you can't find your ORIGINAL birth certificate. I have a copy of mine....would i still be able to get the copy notorized?
  11. i heard that their prices for simple things like candle holders were ridiculous. i'm bringing everything with me.

  13. Are there anyother linen choices other than white? Do they offer table runners as well? I may just rent the linen from here and lug it with me (although I really don't want to travel with unneccesary stuff).
  14. Good question......i'm not sure. that's why i'm planning to have my own custom menus printed up. Can any previous RIU (Plantation) brides offer input on this one? Thanks!!

I'm toying with this idea also, but i'm not sure of what i should say.
  16. i'm a bit confused because I am giving welcome bags and separate wedding favors.....so i think that I will give the wedding bags out at our welcome mixer on the first night, and then the wedding favors, the night of the wedding.
  17. i wonder if they have an ipod setup?? so we wouldn't have to carry alot of cd's.
  18. Chandlyn never mentioned that to me. She just told me credit card or checks will be accepted. To be on the safe side, I will be traveling with Travelers Checks.
  19. I'm definetly bringing music with me or at least a playlist. I'm very picky about the kind of music i like and I do not want to be dissapointed on my wedding night. i want to dance the night away!!!
  20. Great topic!! I asked Chandlyn about this issue already and here is what she said. Her response is in red. Menu- What menu’s and food choices are available? Kindly see the attached menus for both restaurants. What types of beverages are included (beer, wine, etc.)? With dinner is served red and white wine , sodas, juices and beer. Will our guests need to decide beforehand which meal they would like, or can they make their selections at dinnertime? The selection can be made during dinner from the menu. Since I would like to include our monogram on the menu’s, please let me know what food options are available so I can print those out and make the menus myself.
  21. Thanks for clearing that up Mo......i have alot of family in Jamaica, but I also have alot of people flying in and staying at the resort also, so i don't think that I will have a problem.
  22. your pics look great! How were u able to arrange the first dance on the mainstage? Is that where it is commonly set up before/after dinner? Congrats!
  23. This worries me......i was considering doing a Couples Ocho Rios honeymoon. I wonder if most of their chains are like that.
