  1. What a tough decision ... but good for you for wanting the best for both of you. When I read your post I my heart went out to both of you --- I can't imagine how hard it was for Amos to speak up because he didn't want to hurt and disappoint you ... and I can't imagine how hard it was for you ... but the two of you have made the right decision. It's so easy to get caught up in all the planning, the details, etc ... but it's the man that you love and the life that you're building that matters.

    Hello there

    Welcome to the Forum!
  3. Hi Girls! Jill was super-nice to check on our list of things at Costco --- and while it looks like alcohol will be readily available ... no candles / mirrors. I'm still thinking about doing my own centerpieces because we'll only have 5 or 6 tables. I'm getting the trio of big hurricane lamps (one small, one medium, one large) for each table through my WC because I didn't want to travel with those ... But I'd rather look for mirrors to go underneath on my own and maybe do my own flowers (something super-simple). I know that I've read posts that say flowers are readily available ... what about vases? I'm sure that flower shops will have some ... but I don't want to end up paying a whole lot! There have been some great posts of on-line suppliers with a variety of vases for under $5 --- anyone know if I might be able to find something similar in Cabo? Is there a Wal-Mart / Target equivalent other than Costco? I'm just trying to avoid bringing them with me! Any suggestions? Thanks!
  4. Our WC uses Pez Gato ... I emailed Sunriders a couple of times and never heard back, so we booked with them. It is open bar and "heavy" appetizers. At first we wanted to do a complete meal - that's why we looked at Sunriders. I know they've gotten really good reviews. However, both the WC and my FI mentioned the possibility of people not wanting to eat a lot on a boat because of a chance of getting sick. I think the maximum number of guests that the boat we are on is 60 --- so it might be that if you used them, you would end up with the whole boat to yourself even if it is a "public" tour!
  5. They're too cute! Congratulations on checking it off your 'To Do' List! Doesn't make it seem like every time you finish one of the tasks it's like "Yep - we are REALLY getting married!!!" ...

Welcome to the forum and Congratulations! Where in Ireland?
  9. I did the same thing as some of the other girls - I changed the names manually instead of copying and pasting. I can't seem to post my template, but I'm glad to email it to you if you'd like. If you're printing your own at home, this method doesn't seem to take that much more time ... especially if you are printing on the backs, too. As one set was printing, I was changing the names on the next. However, if you have a large guest list and / or are planning to have them printed at Kinko's or somewhere else ... then this may not work for you. I found that it was frustrating in the beginning - getting used to grouping, ordering, etc. - but once you play around - it gets easier! Good luck!

I will keep a spreadsheet. After Christmas I will revive this thread and PM those who have already said they'd be interested and we'll get official counts and start negotiating with the company. Does that sound OK with everyone? Thanks for organizing Carly and Trish --- you guys are awesome. Put me down for 15 --- if I don't use some, they will make easy teacher gifts later in the year! I'll get back to you soon on the colors ... I need to look at the website again - but tonight I really, really have to study!!! (I'm allowing myself 15 minutes on the forum, and then cutting it off!)
  11. That's too weird --- I was surprised at how responsive Monica has been! I checked my email and I have the same contact address ([email protected]). I asked whether or not I needed to put down a deposit, and she said "no". She sent me a confirmation email and we planned to touch base again 30 days before our arrival. If you don't hear from her tomorrow or the next day --- if you PM me, I'll try send her emails, too. That's a lot of $$ to come up with if you don't have to!

Welcome! I'm a Cabo bride --- but you're in good hands ... there's lots of Jamaica girls here! Congratulations!
  14. Hi Maura! I'm getting married in San Jose del Cabo in March! Let me know if there is anything I can help you with and CONGRATULATIONS!
  15. too cute! i love that you went with a color! ...the shoe bandit thing is too weird, but i'm glad they left the shoes with their rightful owner!
  16. I would definitely be up for pitching in ... I won't have my final count until after Christmas as well ... as long as this isn't a problem - I'm in!

I think that this sounds like a great solution for your situation. Depending on how many different hotels you are talking about, I just worry that you trying to drive around and catch all your guests could be stressful! In fact, your "recruit" wouldn't even necessarily have to be staying at the other hotel --- for example, I have a few friends that are coming 3 or 4 days early and they are renting cars. I'm sure that they wouldn't mind dropping off a batch if I asked. But - if I chose to ask someone to make a special trip (i.e., if they weren't staying at the hotel where I'm asking them to deliver) - I would definitely limit it to ONE trip --- I wouldn't want them spending a day making deliveries! Are most of your guests arriving on the same day?
  18. did you send a STD? we directed everyone to our website which had the travel information and itinerary. we're doing letterpress invitations which can get pricey - so, since everyone already had this info - we just opted for the traditional invite and rsvp card.
  19. Thank you, thank you for all the comments! I'm settled on not adding the flowers during the ceremony, but may still add them after I take off the veil at the reception. Seriously --- I'm an only child - so I don't have any sisters to beg for opinions! My two best girlfriends are both amazing and have been so supportive --- but one is expecting her first child in 2 weeks and the other is recently married and just moved into a new house! It's great to have all of you girls to chat with about all things wedding! Thanks again!!!

I'll let you know if it's good for runners and walkers! I did the Jog Tunes Indie Podcast last night and I really liked it ... I didn't know what to expect - but it is pretty much like a radio show where this announcer guy introduces the song as it's beginning and tells you how long it's is and the steps per min. (which is just a fancy way to gauge your tempo). It is all indie music from "new" artists ... but I liked just about everything I heard ... there were a lot of different types of music - from bossa nova to electronica to indie rock --- it definitely passed the time quickly and I liked hearing new songs. There is also an option to quit at 30 min. or continue to 45 - 60 min. I actually did it on a rowing machine - and he also says that it can be fine to use on an indoor bike --- I've never used podfitness ... so I don't know if it is more "instructive" --- but this was just music that allows you to increase your pace at intervals and generally keep you moving! It's free on iTunes ... Hope this helps!
  21. I think that we're doing it on a different day ... our ceremony is at 5 and I definitely want late afternoon / evening sunset light for the TTD. The other consideration I thought of ... for both you and me ... is whether you're wearing your actual wedding dress. My girlfriend got married in Cabo last August. She actually used a different dress for the TTD (got it cheap on eBay). The pictures were stunning (Shout Out to Leigh Miller) ...
