  1. I didn't technically do a site visit, but I had lived in Bermuda for five years growing up, and knew I would return to get married. It just always felt like home, and nothing else would really have felt right.
  2. It's funny how even after two years, there are moments that are as clear as if they had happened only moments ago. ~Looking at my MIL and seeing a mountain of tissue on her lap (she got a teensy bit emotional) ~trying to get the ring on my husbands finger only to push it too hard resulting in a re-broken finger (long story short, hubby broke the finger a month or so before but didn't go to the doctor. Finger healed, but now ring wouldn't fit over knuckle..fun times!) ~our first dance in the sand, and having a wave crash up beside us ~seeing my neice sitting in the sand in her pretty dress, acting as if there were nothing else going on but her being able to sit and play, it was too cute
  3. Congrats to another Bermuda Bride! I was married in 2007, but we went through a cruiseline's wedding department to save money. It saved some money, but I wouldn't reccommend it. The people are really nice, but tend to "misplace" information on a regular basis. You really have to check up on them to make sure things are going smoothly. You also don't get to spend nearly enough time on the island using a cruise (although I LOVE cruising), especially since one day is dedicated to the wedding. That said, I loved my wedding and wish every day that I could do it over and over...what can I say, I'm a sucker for weddings. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I lived on the island for five years when I was growing up, and have a rather good feel for the lay of the place. All the best in your planning!!!

The World Online Premiere of the trailer from the most anticipated film of 2009 is happening right HERE on Trailer Park after 7:45 PM PST on Sunday, May 31. We're getting the chills just thinking about it and don't know how we're going to handle the wait. MySpace.com - Movie Trailers I own a Twilight Mom's group and I'm part of a livejournal community for the series too, and I can come post the clips, links and pics here ..no problem. It's always like a big online party any night something Twilight goes down. lol Savannah, I love you...really love you!!! How did I not know about that part of youtube? I'm always on there looking at um...stuff (aka, fanmade trailers/videos/etc). One of my faves is this one here: YouTube - 'Twilight' Parody - By "The Hillywood Show" You rock!
  6. Not sure if any of you heard (Savannah, you probably have, haha), but the trailer for New Moon is premiering at the MTV Movie awards tomorrow night. 2009 MTV Movie Awards - Full Show, Photos, News, Gossip, Hosted by Andy Samberg I don't get to watch here in Canada (no cable, BOO!), but I thought you'd all want to know and set your dvrs. Only five and a half more months! *sigh*
  7. I'm late getting to this, but am so excited that you are doing a Disney wedding! I'm slightly addicted to the DisBoards' wedding forum, the brides have such great ideas...almost as good as the brides here! We honeymooned in Disney and had the time of our lives. I'm hoping for a Disney vow renewal for our 25th...we'll see what happens.

I mean, they didn't even mention Jasper's ability at all. How on earth can you go an entire film and mention nothing of what one of the key players in the sequels is capable of? It's not like Twilight (the book) glazed over Jasper's gift. It was discussed AND utilized more than once, so I don't see where this chick even came from just leaving it out entirely. Not to mention, the meadow scene...oooye, my meadow scene. W.T. EFFFING EF??! lol Why the hack job? Could she not have taken that ten minutes, put them on a hiking trail...a real one, NOT 100 yrds from the damn school grounds, and let it just HAPPEN? The way the first movie treated their relationship, people who haven't read the books are likely going to go into the sequel not understanding the girls devastation when he leaves because it came off as flippin puppy love in the first film. She spent so much time adding crap that wasn't in the book, thinking it was going to entertain moviegoers, that she left out huge chunks of what needed to be in there. I'm done. Thinking about this ditz is givin me a headache. I'm off to look for a TTD online....that's my current happy place...la la la la laaaaa! LOL! I think you just covered all the things that bothered me the most. Oh, but I forgot, I was so upset she left out the Biology scene and replaced it with the field trip and the little dance in his room. Cute, but so not what the book felt like. At least she cast Alice right. If she had gotten her wrong I might not be as forgiving (and I have been very forgiving in regards to this movie, I'm just a sucker I guess).

I'm addicted and I love discussing all the books, so I tend to ramble in case ya can't tell. *how embarassing* I don't know if it fully explains it, but in one of the books it is mentioned that Victoria has a talent for aversion, which could explain why Alice didn't see her coming. And no need to be ignored at all, I tend to ramble on myself far too often...my friends just laugh at me and let me go, but I have given them permission to physically stop me if I go on too long Quote: Originally Posted by BillysBride It was all Catherine Hardwicke's fault. I tried to watch the movie with the commentary but had to stop, Hardwicke just drove me nuts! I'm sure she's a perfectly wonderful person in her own way, but I have never wanted to smack someone so much. I really enjoyed the movie myself (saw it eight times before it was released on dvd), but there are so many things she left out and without good reason.
  11. Wow, you are just the cutest thing! Love the one with the sunglasses. Your pics are gorgeous, congrats to you both!

  13. Hope your day was everything you hoped it would be!
  14. Welcome to another Bermuda Bride! And all the best planning your wedding!

It wouldn't have been a Bermuda wedding without them!! Oh here are the pictures I have posted from some of our guests. I set up a shutterfly page. http://kathyandpawelswedding.shutterfly.com/ The password is - carderwalczak I can't wait for my pro pics!! I should have them by the 26th at the latest. I made sure Bruce knew we needed them for the AHR. I know, there is just not enough time to do everything in so few days. We're hoping to go back in the next couple years, the island really left an impresion on Timm! You needn't have worried too much about the Bermuda shorts, they're pretty much required attire for local weddings, for the minister not to show up in them would have been quite the faux pas! Ours wore bright red ones, loved it!
  17. oh these pics are sooooo pretty! I actually am getting teared up, both from how happy you look and the whole homesick thing from the beach pics! I've said it on your review thread, and I'll say it again, congrats to you both, you look sooooo happy!
  18. Congratulations Cattie!!!! I am so so happy that you had your perfect wedding! 9 Beaches holds a sentimental spot in my heart, it used to be the Canadian Forces base, and I spent many many days of my childhood on the beach and the property in general. All the best to you and your hubby!!!!
  19. We had a simple but wonderful first anniversary as well. I wasn't allowed to do any of the planning though, the hubby wanted to do it the first time around. I'm really not that picky though, I would have been happy with some great food ordered in while watching a romantic movie on the couch. Like I said though, Timm had other things in mind. He ended up booking each of us half hour massages (my first ever)...why, oh why did I wait so long to have a massage? It was heaven. He had me go first, and while he was getting his massage, he arranged for me to have my hair done. I get easily frustrated with my hair, there's a lot of it, it's thick, and never does what I want it to, so this was a wonderful thing for him to do. Following the hair and the massage, we went for lunch at an open air market I'd been wanting to try. Very yummy. The finale to our day is something we're going to keep up every year, at least, we're hoping to. We went to have our pictures "professionally" done at a photo studio. It wasn't a professional studio (it was in a grocery store, but the price was right), but it was fun and the pictures turned out nicely. This year we're using a friend who dabbles in photography (and does an amazing job) for some more professional style photos. Needless to say it was a great day, from start to finish.
  20. I would have definitely added a videographer and extra photography. I got a lot of great pictures and my sister-in-law got some footage on her personal camcorder, but I love seeing all the videos you girls got There's not really much I could cut out, we had a very simple set up to the wedding. Not using NCL's wedding company is the only thing I would really want to cut, but that might have ended up costing more (if our original calculations were right).

  22. Most cruises to Bermuda stay docked overnight, often for more than one day. They do not however go to any other ports if they stay docked for that long, so I don't know if that is an option for you. Take a look at Royal Caribbean and NCL, as they are the ones with the best Bermuda Itineraries. Holland America is adding some Bermuda itineraries for 2010, so you could take a look at them as well.
