I really enjoyed busting my ass to come up with a plan in order to stop hearing about how I'm keeping FI from his friends and they have to do a 'drive-by' with their presents for him because of me. And now that I've planned everything with 30 people in mind---- starting with the trip to the casino, the nice sit-down dinner, the custom cake I already designed and ordered, and the private party I arranged for at a local pub------ NOW you feel the need to tell me that only 6 of you are actually going to attend because you have other shit going on. Signed, The mouse who just ran circles in her wheel for NOTHING! (PS- You can fucking forget whatever brief idea flits into your ADD minds when his 50th rolls around----I'm taking his ass out of town and turning off the phone so you can't call him at 6am on the weekend to see if he happened to watch some obscure interview on TV the night before) Why are people so rude? Maybe this is why I prefer my cats to people sometimes. LOL.
  2. Where are all the WW brides?

Ambulances and fire engines don't yield to you. When they approach with siren and lights flashing stop - don't try to be the last car that makes it through the intersection. Someone's life is being risked so you can get your soy latte 2 minutes faster. Red lights still mean stop. My green turn arrow goes from yellow to red 3 times before I get to go. Why? Because 3 of you see the red light as your opportunity to turn, thus blocking my intersection and preventing those of us with green lights from going. And another thing, I slowed down to let you cut me off. You aren't entitled to that, it was a nice gesture on my part. It's called a courtesy wave. Learn about it! I couldn't have said it better myself! This morning I had my turn signal on AND my arm out the window and the people pulling up to the red light wouldn't let me into their lane...just stopped right next to me and looked at my arm like I was some freak girl.

  5. Dear self Get your butt out of bed in the morning and get on the exercise bike. It's in the other room...stop making excuses. You will feel better. Understand that your mom is going through a really hard time right now and it's ok if everything is about her. She is still happy for your wedding/marriage even if she is acting completely uninterested and not how you thought she would.
  6. I haven't done either waxing or sugaring...but wouldn't the sugaring still hurt because you are pulling the hair out? I always thought that was the painful part. anyone remember Epilady I tried that once when I was younger and now am afraid of anything that would "rip" the hair out. lol
  7. I did my first weigh in this morning. I lost 2 pounds my first week on WW. Yay. I think I need a digital scale though. Mine is hard to read accurately.
  8. We were planning on having one and have been telling people we would. But now we are reconsidering it (or at least I am). FI mom has offered to help pay (since she gave us a huge guest list if we have it). If we do it I want it to be very simple. nothing reception-y. I didn't want a big wedding and I don't really want a big party either. As others have said, we would rather save the money for a house.
  9. Iwas going to suggest claudia Rodgriguez but it looks like I am too late. I haven't booked anything yet but I am going to try and go with her. Cross your fingers that she is available.
  10. You look awesome. I love a good success story.
  11. I agree about the straw. I tend to drink more when I have my bottle with the straw and I forgot it at home today. Argh. I just tried the Progresso Light soup last night...ZERO points for a serving (1/2 the can) It's 2 points for the whole can but that is dinner for me and I can't complain about a 2 point dinner. It was really good too. Thank god it's almost fall and soup will be sounding tasty.
  12. I hope I can be a parent like earlier generations (to some extent). I want my kids to be kids. I want them to fail and be disappointed so they can learn from it. I want them to have discipline (that will be easier said than done. hah. I am such a pushover)
  13. I love these. Soooo cute. I would love to put them in my OOT bags. It might be too much to transport though. I will bookmark the site for sure.

The key is to get dark enough coverage, without something so cakey that it cracks and makes lines under your eyes. Most liquid concealers I've tried from the drug store are too transparent and don't give enough coverage. I find the solid sticks are too cakey. But, the MAC (it's a liquid in a tube) does the trick for me. i have actually tried the MAC concealer and now that I have run out and am using some drug store stuff, I am noticing the difference. The MAC really did cover better. I will have to get some more this weekend.
  15. I was considering getting facials every couple weeks (at least until my wedding-i want to look good in pictures!) but I don't know if that will help or be a waste of money. The pampering would be nice.
  16. I keep a bottle at my desk but I still only manage about half the water I should be drinking. i really don't get all that thristy during the day. It's still more than the zero water I used to have. lol My problem today (and this week) is my period. I have really bad cramps today and eating (and lots of advil) makes it feel better. It is really going to be a challenge to stay away from the snacks today since I work in an office that has a kitchen full of cookies, candy, chips. Arrrgh!
  17. anyone have any good remedies for dark undereye circles? even a good concealer would be great.

I've gone down one pant size so far, but the scale hasn't budged much yet. No time like the present. I assume once you lose weight for your wedding you will want to keep it off, so you might as well start learning new eating habits. The old ones are really hard to break.
  19. I'm in!!! I need all the support I can get. lol I just started this week and am still figuring out points. And serving sizes. Ack. Who knew they were so small? haha What are some good zero and 1 point snacks? I am a snacker and it's hard to quit cold turkey.
  20. No one has posted here for awhile. Any Weight Watchers girls still out there? I am starting today. So far so good(except a bit hungry until i figure out this point system) I have a couple girls at work who are on WW so I thought it would be a good support group.
  21. I was feeling exactly how you are about a month ago. I really just wanted someone to pick a place for me. I needed something easy to get to from Los Angeles and Colorado. When I first started my search, Mexico was the one palce I didn't want to go because of being too resort-y for what I wanted. But then I looked at smaller beach towns that were next to resort towns and suddenly it didn't seem so bad and I am getting married in Mexico. Now I am not inviting 200 people so I didn't do any research into places that could have a party that big. Did you look at Hotel Brisas del MAr in Zihuatenejo? That was my 2nd choice location in MExico. I went with Isla Mujeres. Some of the hotels I looked at in Isla required you to book the entire hotel in order to have a wedding there. That didn't work for me, but might for you. The hotels there may be too small for you, though. Good luck.
  22. Funny how we all have these expectations of our moms crying and emotional over us in a wedding dress and none of them did that. Where did the expectations come from? As long as we get the dresses we are happy with and make us feel good, I guess it doesn't matter how others react. Maybe the look on FI face when he sees me in my dress is all that matters.
  23. A coworker just told me about this story this morning. I was (and am) horrified. Besides the obvious "how can this still be happening in 2007?", how did I not hear about this before? I look at lots of online news sites and I never saw anything about this.
  24. My mom lives in a different city so will probably not be with me when I try on dresses. She has been less emotional/excited about my wedding than I thought she would be, though. She loves my FI, but is strangely uninterested in the wedding. Doesn't ask about it much. Very strange.
  25. Those are adorable. I also vote for the first one. Maybe I will have an AHR after all so I can get some cute invites.
