Flowers/Centerpieces in Jamaica - Any Megastores?
Jenn replied to Jenn's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
My WC gave me the email address - [email protected] - I sent them an email and will let you all know if they write me back. I'm hoping to hear something soon so it can be one less stress to deal with! -
Daily Health Challenge (Spark, WW, everyone!)
Jenn replied to gkashmira's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Alright ladies... I know we all slipped a bit this weekend (at least I did), but its time to get back on track! I'm working late today, but I'm hoping to squeeze in the gym once I get home, and no more junk food! My mom's was brutal on that end... and I was NOT good. I even had a diet coke! For this week, I challenge myself (and you guys) to drink my water everyday, and fit the gym in 3-4 times for cardio, and at least 2 days of strength training. I also plan to detox from junk food with lots of whole grains and veggies. -

My ring was supposed to be done...

I hope not too long, that's one thing you don't want to be stressed about. BTW (now that I already wrote a novel)...do you need the Philly girls to help you with anything in the next month or so Just let us know! They didn't give us an exact date for the ring, but even though we ordered it a month ago, they ordered it 2 weeks ago. So, I'm hoping it won't be more than 2 weeks... Right now I think I'm on track with wedding stuff, but I might need an emergency Philly get-together as we get closer... lol. -

Let me know how the second ring works out!!! I'm sure it will work out, but I'll definitely keep you posted. They did my e-ring, as well as another ring Sam bought me, so I wouldn't be too worried - and you have time if there is a problem. This is the first time we've had an issue, and they didn't fight us to remedy it. I honestly think if I hadn't called today they would've just reordered it and not told us it was in. But, we'll never know on that one... -
Thanks again everyone I love the simplicity of my dress, and I was really happy when I put it on again after the weight loss and saw the difference. I still have about 5lbs to lose to be really happy in a bikini, but I need to be careful not to lose too much more. For those that are interested, I've been using Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople and exercise. Being accountable for what I put in my mouth has really made a HUGE difference. FI has been really helpful as well, as we've encouraged each other to stick with healthy foods and he's a gym rat, which motivates me to go to the gym! For those that are still a couple months off, you can do it! Getting started was the hardest part, but it does get easier

That sucks! I can understand wanting a Saturday, but I think a Tuesday would be fine if people have enough advance notice. If you love Dreams, then go for it... maybe you could talk to a few key people that you want there to see if the long vacation would work for them? -
Thanks ladies! The first pics aren't completely fair since the dress wouldn't close and I was holding it up. It was actually a size too small and had a zipper back. I opted to have them put a corset back in, because I loved the dress and didn't feel comfortable with them having to let it out a few inches. I love it though, and I don't think I had realized how different I look until I looked at both pics.

Yeah right... there are a lot of things you can say about Steven Singer, but great prices and discounts aren't one of them - lol! Oh well, they'll get it right, and it better be right soon or I'm going totally bridezilla on them! -
Thank you Julie!!! I love it and it will definitely be in my bouquet!

In terms of other snacks as long as you dont look like you are trying to feed someone there (a la rice, ketchup, etc...) you should be good with getting into the country. honestly, most times I tell them I have nothing to declare and go right through, and I am jamaican! Thanks for the info! I'm so worried about everything we are bringing, and don't know if we should declare 'something', nothing, or everything! We only have 20 guests, so I know some of you definitely have it worse than I do... just hoping a little green goes a long way if need be.

but it was done wrong! Just need to vent a little... We ordered my ring a month ago, and since its custom we wanted to have a little time in case something happened. The ring is a thin eternity band, but instead of all diamonds, its 1 sapphire every 3 diamonds. We were assured that the stones would match my e-ring in color (I have 2 sapphire trillions flanking my diamond). Well we called the jeweler today to check on it, and after 15 minutes on hold, the girl said that its in, but they aren't happy with it. They wouldn't tell me what was wrong though! So we went to the store, and not only do the stones not match my e-ring, they don't even all match each other! Some are very light sapphires, and some are very dark. For the amount of money we are paying them, I was really disappointed! So they are redoing it (I think they ordered it instead of doing it themselves). I only hope it gets done correctly this time, since my wedding is really creeping up!

It really depends on what type of ring you are getting. If you can see a lot of the metal on the wedding band, you may want to get platinum. Although white gold and platinum will look very close in color initially, they oxidize differently, with platinum being a bit more gray, and white gold looking either whiter or even golder. I was hoping to be able to get wg, but when I tried on white gold eternity bands, I could tell the difference in color, and it bothered me, so I went the expensive route.

Flowers/Centerpieces in Jamaica - Any Megastores?
Jenn replied to Jenn's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
We actually found a floral wholesaler in MoBay (TPG Distributors), so we are hoping they will have what we need to make centerpieces. My wedding coordinator is being completely unhelpful recently, so we did a fairly extensive internet search. I'm hoping the wholesaler will have glass bowls and also be able to sell us flowers. My mother's boyfriend is a florist, and it means a lot to him to make my bouquet, etc. The ridiculous part is that my WC quoted us prices to just buy the flowers from the local florist, and the prices were higher than if they MADE my bouquet! Our plan is to drive back to MoBay when my mom arrives and hit the shop before picking them up at the airport... (a day before the rest of the guests arrive). -
Shelley - Have a wonderful rest of your b-day!!!!

To my Secret Santa - Thank You So Much!!! I got your gift from my landlord's office today and I love it!!! It is an aqua starfish for my bouquet, and it is beautiful!!! I will definitely be thinking of you (and all the BDW gals) on my wedding day But, who are you To my Bride... your gift was mailed today, and may even be there tomorrow or the next day! Hope you love it!

I think we got ours on Drugstore.com. I'm not sure if they deliver to Canada though... -

Welcome and happy planning!

Anyone know if these exist in Montego Bay or Negril or even Ochos Rios? My wedding coordinator has officially pissed me off and has become unhelpful, so it looks like I need to come up with glass bowls/vases to make into centerpieces. I really don't think flying them down is a good idea, so I'm hoping that there is a superstore somewhere...
