One thing you may want to think about is flights. They could easily be more expensive or less available. Other than that, I agree that the extra vacation day may help your guests out a lot. But I would go ahead and let the guests know, b/c some people make plans for their holiday/vacation time off well in advance!

Wow, 10 days. That was quick! Does anyone know if you have to send the documents beforehand at a certain time? I think I read (but I cant remember where) it couldnt be more than 3 months than your date. Still trying to decide on whether to do civil or symbolic!!!

I think that is fine. You have to plan ample time for pictures not only with your guests, but you and your hubby as well, so I think that timing works out perfect. And if guests want to freshen up for dinner, that allows time for that too. A cocktail hour sounds good too.
