  1. That sounds so pretty! The first time I ordered them, I ordered 100 and none were broken... second time, I ordered the same amount and 6 were chipped (not completely broken) ... I would def get 100 to be safe
  2. That's a great deal! Can I ask how big the lanterns are?

  4. Hey Melissa - when you get a chance can you tell me where you found the program for cheaper? Everywhere I look it's atleast 250... might as well pay someone else to do it for that much!
  5. Thanks for posting! This info will def come in handy soon
  6. Glenda - I wish I had known you were here! Oh, and I completely agree... moving here from NY was def. an adjustment, but now that I am here I love it For the most part, people don't even mind that I am a yankees fan, hehe...
  7. LOVE them!!! I think my favorite is the first one... you look so happy and natural and in love... gorgeous pictures!
  8. I love those maracas! I have been looking for ones that werent neon, and those look perfect! Let us know how they look when you get them
  9. I looked everywhere, and finally found precut circle stickers at paper source: Red 2.5 Round Labels - Paper Source I know WB Mason sells them for cheaper, but I needed ones that work with an ink jet printer. Hope this helps!

I told him that his website was posted on a big wedding forum and I'm sure lots of us would order from it, but he said the prices are for wholesalers and that the cost to do a single order would be at least 20% higher. Galit, how did you get your order put through? I'm curious! I don't know who you talked to, but I set up an account with Kelly. She was super nice and she knew it was for my wedding. Maybe try calling and asking for her. I remember talking to some guy who was really unhelpful once when I called to check up on some stuff that was backordered.
  11. Sooooo.... after searching high and low for bargain prices on OOT bag items, I (actually, FI gets the credit) found this website: WEINERS LTD · supplier of travel size toiletries, medications to hotel and hospital gift shops. I know a lot of us have been scouring the internet for the best prices, so I hope this helps everyone. You have to set up an account with them, but you don't have to be a business or order a minimum $$$ amount. FI and I really wanted our guests to get a lot of use out of the OOT bags, so we ended up ordering: sunblock after sun care lubriderm lotion certs mints gum pepto bismol sudoku books advil gold bond powder kleenex chap stick We are also throwing in some pool floaties and flip flop playing cards, and some other fun stuff. I hope this helps
  12. I just spent the last 20 minutes reading through all these posts... I am at a total loss for words. I am just so sorry for you I can't even think about it. I am just sitting here praying for you that everything will be ok, and somehow everything will work out. Mu heart trully goes out to you...
  13. I second the last post. I went to Walmart in August on my site visit. We were definitely focused on food and water (it was the day before the hurican hit) but I walked through the other departments. I remember them having EVERYTHING - linens, candles, decorations, etc - but the prices were def. a lot higher than back home.
  14. Welcome to the forum! I am having about the same number of people come to Occidental for my wedding in less than 4 months! (I invited about 170 and 110 have booked) This site has so much great information... definitely do lots of searches and don't get frustrated if the WC's at the hotel dont seem very responsive. They do so many weddings a week that they don't really focus on you until 5 months out. Good luck!

The 3rd box, which contained 30 embroidered towels (made in Pakistan) cleared without any issues. Luckily, I had enough time to react and the boxes were returned a few days before I leave for Mexico. Moral of the story - - Toiletries that is orally taken cannot be shipped to Mexico. Customs will not remove smaller items to clear the package - it is automatically returned, and the shipper is responsible for the return shipment, AND - - duties and customs fees, even if the package doesn't technically arrive in Mexico. Thanks for posting this information! I know a lot of girls have been going back and forth on this. I have been planning to ship my decorations for the last 3 weeks but I keep procrastinating because... well, thats what I do! I am happy to hear your towels went through - I have 100 chair sashes and a bunch of table runners that I need to ship
  16. Quote: Originally Posted by violethaze2b YES, I keep forgetting about decorations! lol What info do you have on that?! And pics of an actual wedding would be cool. Hi Violet! You basically have 3 options for decorations: 1. Bring everything yourself (which, I am sure you realize, is a huge PITA). The pros are you get exactly what you want and it will cost you less. The con is dealing with shipping or worse, packing it in your suitcases... as well as trying to get your loved ones to bring some stuff in theirs too. 2. Ask Marialma to put you in touch with their "decorations supplier". Marialma put me in touch with a coulpe of companies, and most recently I have been dealing with a man named David from a company called Zuñiga (try their website: decocancun.com). The pros are that he is super nice and has been trying to be helpful. Plus I wouldnt have to worry about clearing customs with 15 glass bowls and linens for 100 people. The cons are that the prices are INSANE (think 17 dollars to rent a single tiki torch) and you are not going to get exactly what you want. 3, Take a chance and wait until you are down there to go to walmart, home depot, costco to buy everything. I decided to do a little of each. I started out not caring about things like decorations and flowers, and then as my guest list grew, I started becoming more and more concerned. After talking with the suppliers, I got so frustrated with the prices that I decided to reconsider what was and wasnt important to me. For example, I really wanted to hang chinese lanterns across the ceiling of the beach club. The first place quoted me 2500 dollars and David quoted me $1700. Also for votives, the price is $2 per candle... I mean, really?!?! In the end, I will be forking over the money for the lanterns (although I think I can get the price down a good amount) because they are important to me. As for all the other stuff, I ordered custom linens from ebay for less than what it would have cost me to rent them from David, I am shipping glass bowls and votives, and Marialma promised to check out the price of tiki torches for me at Walmart when we get closer to the wedding date. Wow... I wrote a lot. I have a lot of prices on decorations if anyone is interested. Please feel free to PM me for more info.
  17. Hi Leslie! Welcome to the forum... as Violet said, it can be a big pain in the butt to get info from the resorts, so please let me know if you have any other questions. I am less than 4 months out, so I have accumulated a crap load of random info pertaining to music, food, decorations, etc... Also, let me know if you would like to see pictures of weddings at Occidental. I posted the pictures from my site visit back in August, but I also have pictures from other brides who were married at Occidental Happy planning!
  18. Thanks everyone! I constantly put them on with the excuse that "they need to be broken in" hehe Quote: Originally Posted by trisha0612 They are so sexy! 19. Thanks Sol! I am all about food, so I will definitely be checking out your recomendations
  20. I don't know if this is "cheating," but I am just going to buy white chocolate starfish from someplace like this website: 24 - Edible Ivory Sea Shells I know there is a better website, but I don't have the link right this second.
  21. So happy for you Michelle! I was super excited when I booked Elizabeth last summer... I think after saying yes (to FI) and picking a hotel, she was my 3rd major wedding decision
