  2. I received a metallic paper bag with a thank you tag with lots of food goodies at a wedding we went to as an OOT bag. It was a surprise and much appreciated since we didn't buy any snacks. When I looked into bags for our OOT bags, the nicer paper bags were more than the ones we used from cheaptotes.com that doubled as beach bags. They were easy to transport to Mexico since they didn't take up much space. We paid 99 cents each and used iron on paper, but made our bag logo pretty generic. We put our names and wedding date on a tag we tied onto them with their names handwritten on the back so we would know who to give them to. I saw many people using them at the resort ... I don't expect people to use them afterwards, but they were nice to use for the beach, pool and shopping. Our OOT bags with generic logos (There are some contents missing from the picture, chips, pashminas, some other stuff I cannot remember right now): I did use white plain paper bags I bought at Michael's for the BM and parents gifts and made sticker labels for them. They also got OOTs. The kids got paper bags with stickers I made on them as well. The GMs got canvas drawstring bags (from JoAnn's) and they were used as well. I never got around to putting logos on theirs but they did have tags BM bags (the other bag pictured is an Environsax, they were rolled up in thsir gift bags): So my advice is do what fits your budget. People are not expecting anything like this, so anything will be a nice touch.

The place where we got the BM dresses only keeps one size in stock. Since she was preggers, it wouldn't have worked anyway. His sister was also pregnant when we ordered, but she was having her 3rd child and had a better idea of what size she would be. Quote: Originally Posted by LC_Rachel Thanks Paula. SHe's bitched about the dress from day one. This is the 2nd dress too. The first one she didn't like (I wasn't too fond of it either) so I bought a second one. Now this one is too long. It's like a never ending pain in my ass. Oh well- the day of the wedding I won't even think about it. BUT there will be no pins in the dress. Oh my... okay, attitude check on her ... did she forget you are the bride? Here's to hoping she doesn't even try!

I went to a small school in Ohio where, in my time, probably 70% of the school went Greek. All houses did things together which was nice. I like how Maura described it, it is different at each school. I didn't rush until my 2nd year of school though. This little Mexican girl's view of a fraternity was 'Animal House'. Coming to the US for school was indeed a culture shock for me, and I used to be very shy too... quickly got over that my freshman year, learned more about the school's culture and found myself in the middle of Rush somehow. It was a great experience, probably glad I only did 3 years of it instead of 4. I did learn that you can mouth 'watermelon' to most any of the songs if you cannot remember the words and you will appear to know them all Oh Yari, don't know if you had this one, but I have pictures at my wedding singing 'Mary Margaret'! That's the one song I DO know all the words to!
  9. Long time in the making! You are going to be a Mrs!
  10. If it does happen, just let it slide... you need to enjoy yourself and take in all the good things beacuse it goes by too fast! I found out the Saturday before my wedding that one of my BMs did not fit in her dress at all! Long story short and not to hijack your thread, but I haven't shared this yet ... this BM was pregnant with her first child when we ordered her dress... and she lives in Mexico. The dress was ordered larger than we thought she needed, here in the US according to the designer's sizing. She would have had the baby by the time of our wedding. She didn't tell me it didn't fit because she didn't want to worry me. She did everything possible... looked for material to match, add material, find similar dress, with no success. (It is a hard colour to match when you see it in person). I was mad that I didn't know. I could have ordered her another dress if I would have known, but she thought she could fix it. They couldn't take it apart because of the boning. She cried, she broke out in hives, she didn't want to ruin pictures or even walk down the aisle... the important thing was that she was there with me. With that said... at that point I didn't care that she wore a different dress, she walked down the aisle, she was in the pictures, it didn't matter in the end. I am glad she was with me.
  11. I posted a pic in another thread, let me go find it. Found it: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...2-6#post264438 My comparision pictures are in this thread between the plam shoulder bags and the cheapie canvas ones I ended up using.
  12. Corey you looked beautiful! I have tears in my eyes! Congratulations once again on becoming a Mrs. and I wish you two a lifetime of happiness.

I am holding my ground though. I still haven't heard back from her. Yes she did tell me that, this is the case for many vendors. They have certain ones they work with and she could give you a choice if you ask. I think many of us want to control the details which is hard from afar. I know I did... but they have the wedding packages and such for a reason. They have a wedding almost everyday at Dreams Cancun. I look back and think I should have just let them plan it all as the package was... less stress for me and it still would have been just perfect!
  14. I was in Target the other day and in their kitchen stuff area they have white bowls that are are shells. very similar to what we actually used but it had a base. I wished they would have had them when I was looking. I think it was about $3.99 USD. I bought one because we are going the shell we used to our ring bearer in a shadowbox frame.

  17. That is a cool idea! They can be very creative. Hmmm... you do have a lot of guests... could you have an instant camera or someone in charge of taking those photos? I would think it could eat up a ton of your photographer's time if they did it.
  18. When I read the post title the first thing that came to my head was the action that the do in "Friends" to flick people off. C'mon you know what it is... I do that every now and again. Non words that are words in my own little world? 'Gai-gondo-mondo' is latest one we use.

I wished we had given the booklets out when we saw people instead of waiting until Friday night when we gave out the in OOT bags. We gave out the OOT bags and then went directly to the welcome dinner and then people partied, so they didn't have much time to review the content. That was just my opinion. We were a small enough group, everyone kept in touch and knew where to be.
