  1. I need your advice and opinions!! Aaron and I plan to go to the courthouse to get married before we head to Mexico for our symbolic wedding May 10th. We do not really want to get poked for the blood test in Mexico and do not want to mess with all of the translation and legal issues of it. I had told him that instead of having the boring justice of the peace "ceremony" here, if we could afford it, it would be neat to fly out to Vegas and get married there, just for the fun of it! I love Leigh's "drive-thru" wedding pic and the idea of that or a ceremony in Vegas. Now for the dilemma: We are going out there at the end of October. Aaron has to go out there for business for a week and I plan to fly out with a few of his co-worker's wives for a long weekend. Do you think early Nov. would be too early for us to get legally married in the states but have our "wedding" in May? Another aspect of this is if we got married this fall, Aaron be able to include me on his taxes. He gets raped by Uncle Sam every year because his is in a high tax bracket and has no deductions. He brought it up again today and asked if I thought November would be too early. Do you think it would be wierd to be legally married in Nov but celebrate our anniversay on May 10th? I am anxious to hear your thoughts
  2. Thank you so much for posting your review Karen! I am very excited to have our wedding at Dreams Tulum as well! It sounds like you guys had an amazing time! I will warn you, I may have some questions for you! Thanks again for posting!!!
  3. Welcome back and congrats Laura!! I can not wait for your review!! We just decided on Dreams Tulum and am anxious to hear how your wedding went!
  4. Congrats Jason and Karen!! It sounds like you had an AMAZING day!! I have been waiting to hear how your day went for a few weeks!! Aaron and I finally decided on a resort last night and we chose Dreams Tulum. I can not wait to hear more about it!!
  5. Although it is at the southern end of PDC, Dreams Tulum looks like a great resort that allows children. We were looking at Secrets but decided it is a bit pricey for some of our guests and have now began looking at Dreams. They are owned by the same company that owns Secrets Capri. They also have a great wedding package! Just a suggestion!
  6. Welcome back guys!! I have been waiting for you guys and Laura to return so I can hear more about Dreams. We are most likely going to book there! CONGRATS to you both!!!
  7. Welcome to the forum Niki!! I am also getting married May 10, 2008, but in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Welcome!
  8. Tara and Kash, would either of you be willing to share a template of the back of your postcards? I have yet to figure out how to make them... although I haven't been feeling well and haven't dedicated a ton of time to them.
  9. I am a little late to this thread but thanks for pointing this out Matt! I was really interested in El Dorado Seaside Suites but have not been the happiest with Lomus. I just think it is just another hassle and hurdle to jump when you have to deal with an additional third party to plan your wedding. That only leads to more lapses in communication and more confusion and problems. I sent an email to the Karisma website requesting wedding info. I was then sent an email from Lomus stating that they needed a deposit to book my wedding and what not, but never explained WHO they were or why I would pay them instead of the resort. I went round and round trying to figure out if they were soliciting or if they were legit. Hopefully they will straighten up they business practices soon!
  10. Tami, I really like your postcard and invite ideas!!! Did you design and make both yourself? They look great! I just wish I knew how to do that!!
  11. We are giving 1 bag per couple and 1 bag to each single person.
  12. Aaron and I were talking about TTD sessions and he says that as long as he can have a few drinks prior, he is all about having them taken! I was super excited to hear that because I thought he wouldn't want to have them done!
  13. Wow Jess! You did an amazing job!!! I love your bags!! Way to go!! Only a few more days to go!!!!
  14. Those are super cute Ashleigh!! I have never seen them before! Thanks for posting!!

The fight would have been ok but it was an all-girls league and NO CONTACT so no fighting allowed!! I would definately say I won. She was out to get someone all day and decided to try me. She got me down on the ground and went to skate away so I pulled her down and started punching her If only I had HALF of that energy I had back then!! Hopefully someday I can feel better and play again!!!
  16. I do not have anything nearly as exciting as some of you but here is some info about me: I am currently being treated for Lyme Disease, although some of you know that. The past year and a half has certainly been a roller coaster for Aaron and I, but made it even more clearer that he is a wonderful FI! I also played ice hockey for 7 years! I even got kicked out of a game when I was 15 for getting into a fight with some chick we were playing against in Canada. My coach was pretty pissed at me to that, but only because I was the captain of our team and was not setting a "good example"
  17. I am in the same situation with my younger sister. She has been dating a guy for just over 3 months and talks about bringing him. I do not mind if she does bring him because they will keep one another company. I think because it is your FSIL, I would let her bring him.
  18. I emailed Turtlebay and heard back right away. Try emailing at: [email protected] or maybe contact the girl who emailed me, Jennifer, at: [email protected] I had emailed asking for pricing on the 1st cake that comes up, the one with the shells, for approx 20 guests. This was her response: Hi Amy, Yes we could do a smaller version, maybe a 2 tiered cake. Your choice of cake, recommend buttercream frosting. With the white chocolate shells & delivery the total would be $155. We have beautiful silver cake stands that the cake are on. All cake tiers are four layers, we can do fruit layers in the middle. Please let me know if I can answer anyother quesitons. jennifer Jennifer was very quick to respond. Let me know if you get through to her.
  19. Yay Jamie!! Congrats!! How exciting!! I am so happy for you!! Can't wait to hear the details!!
  20. Hey Laura, I have LG bookmarked from the email you sent me. To be honest, I haven't had a chance to look around much but I will. Thanks again for all of your help!!
  21. Hey Amy, I am trying to make a standard size post card. The bad thing is I am not familiar with Photoshop so it takes me FOREVER and because I am not feeling good today my level of patience is slim to none so I am frustrated I can not seem to even attach a copy of the front of the postcard either... leading to more frustration. Let me know your suggestions. I emailed my FI's graphi design girl at work, hoping she can throw something together. I know it would only take her a few minutes, where it would take me 45 mins to do the same thing.
