  1. Toby I love that dress, its absolutely gorgeous! Don't order it too small, I did that with a bridesmaid dress and let me tell you I still needed to get it altered because I didn't lose weight like I said I was going to, and the damn dress had barely any room to be let out, I was panicking, I didn't think I was going to be able to wear it! I did wear it, but let me tell you I was so uncomfortable all day, I was afraid to bend down for fear of splitting the zipper! Just order the size you need, you'll lose weight you'll get it altered to fit you perfectly and you can cut the size tag out right when you get it, so you can "forget" what size it was!

  3. Laura, have you gone to any bridal shops and tried on any dresses to get an idea of what you really want?? This is what I did and then I looked for the dresses on ebay, and I ended up buying one that was a similar style to ones I had tried that I liked but sometimes you can find the exact dress too. Another option, which might be a really good one for you if you don't want to spend a lot, have you checked out davids bridal?? They have a lot of different styles and a lot of different prices, and they ususally have sales every few weeks, so you'll be able to save even more. Don't wear a dress you hate, but if you like it and think you can be happy with it, then get it altered. But if you really think you don't want it don't bother with the alterations.
  4. Mishi, I'm so glad you're having a great time, your pictures make me want to go away now! now go enjoy your husband!

Now mind you seeing all the posts on this site makes me want to look at others too! The problem with the costs is paying for 2 additional people to travel. That money feels like it should not be spent when everyone else is paying for their week of vacation. So in the end I wrote a budget of 600-2000 and we will probably use the resort photographer unless we find someone in the area (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic). When I talked it over with my girlfriends who are married - they said that you really only look at a few pictures of your wedding mostly and as long as you get some to remember the day by is what really counts... Sorry this is getting long but I can't see how we need 8 hours of coverage when many of us are not having a rehearsal dinner and the actual wedding/dinner isn't that long. Any ideas for my photographer situation would be welcome. Attached is the one that I inquried about. Toronto Wedding Photography - Boston Avenue Photojournalist - Photojournalism your thoughts sound very similar to mine, I really wanted a great photographer, but it didn't seem right for us to pay for a photographer to travel, when some of our family can't even afford to come, I think if we were going to pay for anyones travel it would be our family members that we really wish could be there, but can't afford it.
  6. kash, my FI is like you in that he'd rather we spend money on doing things while we're in mexico and on the whole "experience" he doesn't think we need tons of pictures because we'll have our memories of all the stuff we were able to do, and I half agree

But he will in NO way allow me to spend more then 2 grand on something he dispises. Originally I wanted my cousin and uncle to take my photos since they are excellent with photography... but the more I thought about it, the more I want the expertise of a wedding photographer. my FI doesn't hate photos, he actually really enjoys being photographed, but he doesn't see the need to spend so much money on pictures when we're going to end up choosing one or two that everyone will end up having hanging on their wall, blah, blah, blah.... So we compromised, I got a photographer that I'm happy with for 3 hours for $1000. I originally wanted Juan, but FI almost died when I told him how much! Not that I don't think Juan is worth it, but FI made a good point, we're only expecting about 20 guests, so we really don't need 500 pictures of us and our 18 guests, it would just be a waste. I think with 3 hours we'll get the perfect amount.

I can't wait- I got an extra chair so you can sit right down and enjoy the ceremony if you want to! Sarah, its so cool that you're going to get to meet Tammy! Be sure to have juan get some pics of you two!
  9. one of my friends was on accutane, isn't that the one that you have to always go for blood tests? Thats one of the reasons I would never go on that stuff, that just scares me!
  10. I didn't look into Riu so I don't know much about it. But the reason I chose dreams was because it wasn't super huge, I wanted a mid size resort, they allowed children, my WC highly suggested them, she said they do beautiful weddings. And I fell in love with the gazebo
  11. Yay! Thanks Lisa! Now if I could just pull myself away from my computer for an hour to go workout!
  12. There was a bouquet I love with callas, orchids & roses, it was gorgeous and I wanted it, but I emailed it to claudia awhile back & she said she'd have to get a quote and at that time I didn't know I could get credits for things I didn't use in the package, so I told her to forget it because its really not that important I can pick from the package bouquets, but I just with they had more with orchids in the included ones because I am obsessed with them!

Hello - what is City Hall for?? Anyway, I told him how I haven't been to the gym in a month...and have been running 3-4 miles...4 or 5 days a week and seeing no results...and was really excited to go to the class and now I couldn't go. Sorry this is long... Anyway, he said well what are you trying to get in shape for, so I told him I was getting married in August and really need to step it up. SOOOOO he said he did a boot camp class Mon, Wed & Fri from 5:30a-6:00a and for me to start coming.....FOR FREE...for a month....for my wedding gift from him. Normally his boot camp class is $125. He also told me he would take my body fat and put me on a clean diet and I would totally be ready for my wedding! I was like wooo hoo!!! So, I went to the gym this a.m. at 5:15 and ran a mile then did his 30 minute boot camp....it rocked!!! I thought that was so nice of him to do this for me for free! Lisa thats great! You're so lucky you found a bootcamp and for free! I was thinking about trying that clean diet too, I need to find more information on it. Quote: Originally Posted by AQHARIDER Wow that's awesome Lisa! I wish there was some sort of bootcamp around here! I've been at the gym every day this week. I'm alternating legs and arms every day. Off to Cabo in 5 days! I'm nowhere near where I wanted to be by now, but these last 6 weeks in the gym have really helped alot. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for procrastinating so long! sarah, you look beautiful, you're going to be a beautiful bride, and have a beautiful wedding, you've worked hard these last few weeks and soon you'll be off to cabo!

Or "leave it", this is only funny because its what we say to our dogs when we don't want them to touch something. Either way I think he'll get a kick out of either one!
  17. Paula, you can send claudia pics of what you want and she'll get you a quote, I don't know if it will be cheaper, but just a thought. Also, does anyone know what this "upgraded bridal bouquet" is?? At first I thought you got to choose from the VIP list, but I guess thats not it either. Why can't they make this easy??
  18. I think you should use the red. You should have seen me staring at the computer, I got up really close to it, scrunched my nose, and I'm like she's got to be joking Then I scrolled down a little more and saw the note, that was a good joke!
  19. Ann, the lost passport application is on the passport site, I have to do one too because I can't find mine and I need to get moving on it ASAP, after listening to you girls!

  21. the brides bouquet is, some of the packages include corsages/bouttenieres(sp?), but I don't think they include bm bouquets
  22. At least the prices are all fairly close, so it gives you an idea of what the BM prices will be.
