Leaving for Maui tomorrow...anyone need anything?
*JillD* replied to Jessalyn's topic in Maui Weddings
Have a great time! I wish I was leaving for maui tomorrow! -
I didn't exercise today. I had to get up super early this morning for work and I had planned to take the dog out for a walk/run this afternoon but then we got a tornado warning & severe thunderstorm warning, so that squashed that idea, so instead I loafed around on the couch and this site, haha! working extra hard tomorrow, hold me to that!

Make up trial pics
*JillD* replied to TammyB's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Tammy the makeup looks great! I think I'm going to do the same thing. Can I ask, how much did it cost for the makeup? I'm scared to find out! -
Congratulations Leigh!

Sabina, exactly as susan said. They are paper bags with either a cutout or something printed on them and you put sand inside to weight them down and a candle, so they glow, kind of like little lanterns. I was going to have them line the terrace and maybe some walkways, but I know they have some lights on the walkways, thats why I asked her because I wasn't exactly sure where we'd put them. She didn't say that there would be a problem having the staff set them up, so I'm assuming she knows I want them to do that, haha! Some of the girls on the forum have made theirs, but I really don't have the time for that and I'm not crafty, so I ended up ordering them from Oriental trading company, they are white bags with 3 different cutouts, hearts, doves, & wedding bells, I would have preferred all hearts, but they had a variety pack that was cheaper than buying single packs, but I only ordered 30, don't ask me why, so I'm going to have to order more, I think I want to bring about 100, Sarah said she had 95, so I figured 100 would be safe.

where are you finding all these good recipes!
-
This sounds really good leigh, and steve LOVES cooking in the crockpot, I can make him make it!
-
Susan I never would have considered doing it before either but everyones pics have come out so beautiful, but I'm so nervous that mine will come out awful! I'm still on the fence about it, I've been trying to work out and eat better because I want to lose some weight before the wedding, so I guess I'm kind of waiting to see how that goes and then make a decision when I feel a little better about myself. You should definetly do it, your hubby to be will love it!

Is it awful for me to say that I kind of like claudia being out sick, I get responses so fast!! Thats awful! Anyway, I emailed her today to ask if it was okay to use silk flowers for people to throw at the end of the wedding, she said of course I also asked her about luminary bags, I am planning to do them, I don't know if anyone else is, she said no other brides have ever done them but thinks they will look nice, so she didn't know how many I'd need so she said to bring plenty, she also said they put out tiki torches. Just wanted to let you know.

Hey Girls, I know some of you are looking for sunblock for OOTs and its so damn expensive. anyway for any of you that have the grocery store "super stop & shop" I noticed they were buy one get one free when I was there yesterday, so its not a great buy like $1 each, but at least its half price! also, I know most of you don't have christmas tree shops in your area, but I got banana boat full size bottles there for $2.99 each good luck!

By the way, I emailed Claudia to see if she would give me any credit for not using her photographer which is included in the package (36 photos). Her reply was "So sorry but item does not used is losted". i have heard some girls got other stuff if they don't used part of their package. Is it true? I have silk flowers too, I'm hoping its okay, I meant to ask her in my last message and forgot. Also, she told me there server was having problems the last few weeks, I think you had the same problem I did. She is home with the chicken pox, so I have a feeling thats why we're getting such quick responses, if you ask her could you let me know the answer as well? I asked about a credit for the photos too and she told me I could get a longer video, but others have gotten a credit, I think I might say something about that, I really could care less about the video, I just took it because it came with the package, I'd rather have the credit for the pictures.

I think your timeline looks good, the only thing I'm doing different is cocktail hour isn't starting until 5, and I had told her dinner at 630, but I might push that to 7 to give us time to do our first dance and in case we run over during our pics, I still want to try to get a few sunset shots. How many hours did you get citlalli for? I got 3, but feel like it might not be enough.

As ann said elizabeth medina & del sol are two top RM photographers and I'm sure everyone thats used them would agree! I am using Citlalli from Claudia Rodriguez's team, claudia has been great to deal with (she wasn't available for our date) I'm super excited about our photographer and they did have great prices for what we had in our budget.

I did 45 minutes of turbo sculpt this morning, I'm so sore!

If we were getting married here and expecting most of our invites to come I totally would have done them over, but I just didn't see the need of the added frustration!

I sent them this morning. I tried to get the envelope open without ripping them, but it wasn't going to work, they were stuck! And I didn't want to have to buy more envelopes and print more labels, etc... probably sounds lazy, but after looking at who was in that pile, there were only 2 or 3 that I thought were coming, the rest probably won't rsvp anyway, so I said screw it, if they want to mail it back they can throw a stamp on it!
-
So I put all of my invitations together this weekend, I was strumming right along, so excited I was almost done, when I realized that I had sealed 3/4 of the envelopes without ever putting stamps on the reply card envelopes! I'm so dumb!!! so now I'm sure that will be everyones excuse for not sending them back. I started to try to open the envelopes with a knife, but it wasn't going to work, so I would've had to buy more envelopes and do more labels because I had already put labels on all of them (because I don't have nice handwriting, so I did pretty labels) So I said screw it, they're going out the way they are, most of the people with no stamp I already know aren't coming anyway they're just getting the invitation as a formality. But damn, I was annoyed about the RSVP thing before I even sent these out and now I can tell its only going to get worse. But they're in the mail today, one more thing done!

Christine, you could try to send it back to the seller if they didn't tell you the zipper was broken. Or you could try and sell it on ebay as well, just some ideas

wedding dress dilemna!

That being said, the first one is also absolutely gorgeous and I'm sure that either way you will look beautiful and feel amazing on your wedding day. By the way, I wouldn't worry about your mom saying it's too fancy, I think most of us got that at one point or another from at least one person. My vote is to ignore them and get the dress that gives you a wow feeling Thank you! I do love both dresses, I guess now I just need to decide! And yes, I'm trying to ignore my mothers comments! Yes, it's a lot of money for a "one day" dress, but that can be said about almost everything brides purchse for their wedding day. For example, at any other time in your life, would you plan on spending thousands of dollars on a 4-8 hour party for a handful of your nearest and dearest? At any other time in your life, would you spend thousands of dollars on photographs? Let's face it, if weddings were a "practical" thing, we'd all be at the steps of a courthouse and eating at IHOP afterward... Very True! Quote: Originally Posted by Nini_Bride lol good point Maria! If you decide you don't want it, then sell it!! oooh courtney, I so want to go order it right now! Maybe I'll go try it on again this week, maybe I should try both this week and that would help me decide! -
I'm not sure either, I was thinking the same thing. I think I told her we wanted the reception until 10, but I think I want to extend that until at least 11 just in case. After reading Sarahs review I feel like everything is going to fly by! Susan, what was your timeline again, was dinner at 7? I remembered we discussed this before. I think I told her 630 but I think I want to change that because sunset is at 630 and I want some pics. So maybe I'll do 4 ceremony, 430 to 530 group pics at the beach, 530 to 630 cocktail hour (and our private pics) and dinner at 7.

I did some criss cross kickboxing thing this morning. It was a good workout! For anyone that has On Demand on their cable tv system, did you know in the "freezone" they have a bunch of workouts? Thats where I found this one this morning, I needed something different to do.

Susan, I never liked country either, but my sister actually made me a country CD, right at the same time when Steve & I were getting back together and I swear we must have played that CD 1000 times, we brought it everywhere with us, everyone loved listening to it and I made her make us another one. So now we listen to country all the time, funny how I used to HATE it!
