  1. I don't want to be a beast...but this thread is from 4/07. This bride got married in 5/07. Please check out dates before replying to poll threads like this.
  2. My mom did Jenny Craig when I was younger and Weight Watchers about 5 years ago. She liked WW way more because you can eat whatever. With JC she kept the weight off for a year, but with WW she has kept it off for 5.
  3. We just gave them to the wedding coordinator who was doing the translation of the ceremony.
  4. I get mine done every month. It really doesn't bother me much anymore - like any kind of waxing. I actually prefer the kind where they don't use the paper/cloth strips to rip the wax off. I think the one where they just let the wax cool and rip off the wax with their hand hurts way less.
  5. My husband danced to "mama tried" by the Grateful Dead. So funny! Everyone loved it. Here are the lyrics: The first thing I remember knowing, Was a lonesome whistle blowing, And a young un's dream of growing up to ride; On a freight train leaving town, Not knowing where I'm bound, No-one could change my mind but Mama tried. One and only rebel child, From a family, meek and mild: My Mama seemed to know what lay in store. Despite all my Sunday learning, Towards the bad, I kept on turning. 'Til Mama couldn't hold me anymore. And I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole. No-one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried. Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied. That leaves only me to blame 'cos Mama tried. Instrumental break. Dear old Daddy, rest his soul, Left my Mom a heavy load; She tried so very hard to fill his shoes. Working hours without rest, Wanted me to have the best. She tried to raise me right but I refused. And I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole. No-one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried. Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied. That leaves only me to blame 'cos Mama tried.
  6. We put a unicorn and narwhale toy on our wedding pie as a topper so we would totally have been down for sock monkeys.
  7. Just give them bouquets/corsages - something to make them stand out but it doesn't require them to do anything.
  8. Our dogs eat California Natural. To help dogs eat slower, take a can of veggies/soup/whatever and peel off the label. Put the can in their food bowl on top of their food. We do that with both dogs and it slows them down as best it can.
  9. I want one!! He is too cute. He looks like a little lion cub.
  10. Mine was mermaid/fit to flare. It was pretty heavy and I was hot by the end of the night...but I would totally pick the same dress if I did it all over again. It was the dress that looked the best on me and made me feel like a bride.
  11. I wore flat sandals for the ceremony - the sand was too hot for me. I changed into heels for the ceremony. My short BM wore wedges which worked.
  12. I feel lame for never welcoming this Connie. I went to law school with her. She's bliss!
  13. I'm only a Chicago visitor - but I love Bucktown. Lincoln Park is also really fun and young.
  14. I started getting waxed every three weeks in preparation for this day way down the road. My BFF is due in a week and she was like "dude - start waxing now because I am a hairy beast and can only shave by feel." We are equally as hairy. She also said she can't start now bc it would be too painful bc of all the extra blood in her body.
  15. We got hosed last year because we got married. Totally sucked ass.
  16. Thanks for the tips. Good idea to look for one with a short barrel - I never thought of that. Lucky for my wallet I've been too lazy to get a replacement. I've just been praying my hair air dries in time for court every morning.
  17. This is the weirdest thing I've ever heard of someone doing. I'm all for the wine spilling/emailing combo. Or, if you have access to her house can you sneak in and cut a big hole in the butt? Maybe she won't wear it then.
  18. Mine was halter too and I had no trouble. It wasn't a tie though - it had hooks. I don't know if that makes a difference.
  19. This one is on amazon for $124. There is NO way I'd pay $300 for it...but I still want to know if it's worth over $100.
  20. I'm hoping it does laundry for me too. The one I have is a vidal sasoon travel dryer I've used for 7 years. It was only $20, so I've for sure gotten my $$ worth. I just use it every day and I've noticed my hair getting crappier as I get older.
  21. My sad old hair dryer died this morning and now I'm on the hunt for a new one. I'm willing to drop some $ on a good one since I've never had a nice hair dryer in my life. I've heard good things about Sephora: T3 Bespoke Labs Evolution Dryer: Blow Dryers & Irons (probably from the forum!). Any faves??
  22. I just got word that one of my MOH's close friends from high school was killed in a car accident. He and I became friends through her since we all went to the same college - nicest guy ever, super adorable, doctor. He was on his way to MI from OH to visit his 2 year old son. It was a white out and he ran into a semi and was killed on impact. So sad. Anyway - sad news always has a good side. Remember how lucky we all are to have all those we care about safe and sound this time of year!!!!! And drive safe!!
  23. We used to doggie daycare with our oldest dog before we got our second dog. It was $25 a day and we would take him 2-3 days a week. Being there made him so tired that we didn't need to take him every day. It is pretty popular out here.
