Hello Ladies and Greetings from freezing Finland!

We are getting married in Now Jade on the 1st of March. I was wondering when do we make the choices about the menus, flowers, cakes and other decorations. Do we pick it in the meeting with Deisy or do we have to make the choices in advance?

Thank you very much!! :)

Hey ladies,

I am looking at photographers right now, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I am really working within a tight budget but to me, the most important part of the wedding is the photography and I'm not sure I'm satisfied with Adventure Photos. I did contact Del Sol which was WAYYYY out of our price range. I also contacted Derek with Photos in Cancun and Gonzalo Nunez who were a bit more affordable.Does anyone have any recommendations? I just contacted Sascha Gluck as well.

I would like to do about six to seven hours of photography on the day of to cover getting ready all the way through most of the reception. I was also thinking of doing a TTD the next day. My budget for this is probably about $3500.

I also have the Divine package which includes photography, but I'm not sure what that covers. The only info it provides is that you get 24 photos. Does this just cover photography for the actual wedding ceremony? I was confused about that as well. Anyone have prior experience with using both an outside photographer and the resort photographer since it comes with the package??

Does anyone know what NOW Jade charges to bring an outside photographer? Is that the same as the wedding day pass ($55 I think)??

Also, has anyone had an experience with Adventure Photos (the resort photogs)?? I can't find any links to weddings they've done, and if I can't find anyone within my budget, I may just end up using them!!

Thanks girls

I don't have much advice on any outside photographers. Unfortunately, it's just not in our budget to hire anyone. But I've seen the work from all those mentioned and they look wonderful! If your budget is $3500 for photography, I'm pretty sure you can find one! I did find this link for adventure photos on a google search. http://nowjade.adventurephotos.com.mx/

We're going with Derek Campbell, I fell in love with his work while looking at Jade photos online. I too am confused about the pics included w the Divine pkg, we emailed Pilar to clarify but I'm not sure if the language barrier caused an issue. She did say that if we opted out of the resort photog, she would give us back only $150USD. So we decided to use them for whatever Derek doesn't cover, at the dance part....FI thinks he can convince them to come w us to the disco after, but we'll see! Also, the videographer that's included covers only the ceremony. When we sent back the planning form, we included quite a few questions, it seems like she was selective in what she answered, because we still have a lot to clarify...

Oh-also, she said $65 per person for an outside vendor. We have invited Derek and Lorena for dinner, so not sure if we'd still have to pay for them if they're "guests"

I talked to Federico from Adventure and quoted him for both, full day coverage photo and video and he said he could do it for $1925. So I asked what he could do for $1200 because I don't know how to sell another 2k to FH ;). He said full day coverage photo and getting ready until a little of the cocktail hour for video. So IF I asked Pilar to use my Divine Package videography time for the first hour of the reception - do you think that would be possible? I feel like I am cheating. Should I ask Federico about that or just go directly through Pilar? What do you ladies think?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
