thanks! hee, my fiance says we're 'reverse moving' because I keep bringing home boxes of stuff. I figured that since we're going to need it, we might as well buy it now (and I found a great but huge chandelier on Cragislist ; ).

I didn't want a shower either...what is the point of asking people to spend money on coming to your wedding and then buying you gifts too...right??  My SIL pretty much made me have one (even though she wanted me to have 2)...so I conceded and I've basically said that I refuse to be involved in it...I just don't have the time...

But on the flipside, that means we get stuff for our house...

I'm having 2 showers... My mother and my MIL are both throwing one (My mom is in Chicago, and my MIL is here in California). I'm actually super excited to go home to Chicago next month for my shower! Because I'm only going back to Chicago once, it's a combination shower/bachelorette party on a Saturday night, and my mother had a hard time keeping the guest list to 40-50 women! I think it's going to be a blast!

My only issue with this huge Chicago shower is that my mother forced me to do a physical registry. We decided a long time ago to do a honeymoon registry, but my mother did not want that to be the only choice. I also had a hard time picking crap! Because really, I'm not picking stuff I actually want. I'm picking stuff that ranges in price between $25-$100 so people have things to buy me. Plus, there is a huge potential for people to bring this stuff I don't actually want or need to the shower instead of shipping it, and then I'm going to have to ship it all back to California... It's annoying, but I think it'll be worth it to get to have this awesome party with a bunch of women who I don't see all the time and aren't able to come to Mexico.

ahahaa, bedding - I am COMPLETLY IGNORING anywhere in the house that isn't public (i.e. not the living/dining room). and I'm a pretty ivory/beige/taupe girl, so the only color I sometimes allow is the ice/light blue. that keeps things pretty simple. ; )

I found this thread a while back and then forgot about it. Wow we're getting sooooo close! My dress isn't in yet and it's making me a little nervous, I ordered it at the end of June, Allure 8800!

Samantha88k, how cool that we have the same date and were from the same area! I'm getting super worried that we aren't going to get everything done in time. haha

Don't get me wrong. I am super grateful that people want to buy us gifts. We just didn't have a lot when we moved in together 2 years ago, so we pretty much bought everything we need. Hence the honeymoon registry! I'm really hoping people use it! :)

Only 99 more days until we leave, and 103 till the wedding!!!!  Now the pressure is on!!!!  Good things are: my fitting is booked, veil should be in anyday, BM dresses are in, OOT bags are well underway, and we have all our paperwork waiting to be translated...if only it'd get here faster...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
