Galit - your dress is phenomenal!!! I love love love the back of it! I know you had fallen in love with a super expensive dress at Kleinfeld's, but this one is amazing. Your dress needs to make you happy, and $4000 in the bank would certainly make me happy - lol. I'm sorry that your sister wasn't as excited about it as you were, but you look beautiful in it!

Your dress is gorgeous!!!!! I wish I could pull off a sexy, flowy dress like that!

I had the same problem, only, I didn't want anyone to come with me to look for dresses but my mom & sister really wanted too. So I picked out 4 dresses that I really liked, one that I really loved, and they came and every dress was, oh, thats nice and that ones pretty. It was so frustrating!!! After that whole experience I was so mad, I said screw it, bought a beautiful dress on ebay at a bargain price, got the dress and its absolutely gorgeous, and ended up thinking about the dress I really wanted day & night, I ended up back at the store and bought it, now I'm just waiting for it to get here and I'm so excited.

So, if you love this dress (and I think you look stunning in it) just buy it and don't worry about everyone else's opinion, it will drive you crazy!!

Tammy, I tried the dress in the store with a veil, and you are absolutely right - it totally hides the back. I haven't figured out exactly what I am going to do since it is part of a jewish ceremony to wear a veil. I might just try to find a really sheer veil and then take it off ASAP. Is there such a thing as only wearing the veil that goes over the front without the back piece?

Ann, that totally helps! I think part of my worry is that I will regret not spending the money, but it helps to hear from you (as well as the other already married girls) that on the day of, the last thing you were worried about was the dress.

To everyone else - thank you SOOOO much! smile03.gifWhat would I do without all of you?!?! The back of the dress is my favorite part... getting married on a beach is the best possible excuse to be a little sexy on my wedding day and i love it bunny_4.gif

For right now, I am going to stick to my guns and stand by my dress... I just know that FI will love it as much as I do, and in the end, thats all that matters. It's def not the dress I thought I would end up with when I started looking, but I really do think its perfect for my wedding (plus the jew in me can't pass up a $500 Reem Acra dresssmile159.gif)

Galit I am not saying this to make you feel better or b/c I am a nice person. I am saying this b/c it is the ABSOLUTE truth. That dress looks amazing on you! It is so fabulous, you look stunning. If you look this good in it now, imagine how great you will look in it when you have your hair, make-up and jewelery done!

I also have a sister so I completely understand where you are coming from. However, I think your sister is probably comparing the dress to something she pictured on you if you were having your wedding at Temple or somewhere like that. It probably still hasn't fully sunk in that you are getting married at a beach destination and not going to wear a poofy cinderella dress. Not that there is anything wrong with a poofy dress but you know what I mean. You like this dress b/c it is a bargain, beautiful, and perfect for the beach weather.

Once she sees the whole thing done up she will be so happy for you that she will love the dress. Trust me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
