So I am having some WC issues huh.gif I had Pilar as my Miami WC and I e-mailed her Feb 15 and never heard a reply so I re-e-mailed her March 15 thinking that she just did not get my e-mail. Well instead of getting a reply from Pilar, I got one from Geraldine Flores. She said that Pilar is no longer with their company! I guess it's not that much of an issue but I was just surprised to hear that! But anyway one of the questions I asked in the e-mail was regarding choosing locations (I had asked Pilar earlier and she said what the rest of you were told - that I would have to wait 2 - 3 months prior to my wedding to talk to the onsite coordinator). Well I wasn't comfortable with that answer because one of the main reasons I wanted to have a destination wedding was so that we could get married on the beach and I would be sooo upset if someone else came along and got that site before I did. So I asked again if there was anyway that I could at least reserve the ceremony site and Geraldine told me that she was forwarding my request to the onsite coordinator for further assistance!! So I'm crossing my fingers that this will actually happen and I will get my locations locked in! You all should try asking again! This is what I asked (her reply is in blue):

I know you said we weren't able to reserve our locations until 2 -3 months prior to our wedding with the onsite coordinator. I am just getting nervous that I won't be able to have our ceremony on the beach and that is one of our main reasons for having a destination wedding. Is there any way we could reserve at least that part now? Please be advised that I am forwarding your request to the onsite coordinator for further assistance.

Hi there,

Congratulations, the Moon Palace is a stunning property!

If you are looking to get married on Valentine's Day I would suggest trying to go through their Miami office to see if there is anything you can do to expedite that request. We have found Valentine's Day to be one of the most coveted days of the year, next to number combinations like 11/11/11.

It sounds like you've already gone through a lot of stress! A destination wedding will certainly be easier.

I always recommend to brides to let their TA do a lot of the work for them, especially when it comes to your guests. We encounter guests worried about the safety of Mexico all the time (as well as fear of flying, fear of getting sick locally, fear of the unknown, you name it!) and have pretty much mastered the process of relieving them of that worry. I'm sure your TA will be the same.

Hope that helps and good luck!

SummerDawn,

My son will be 11 however; my goddaughter will be 4 and my godson 6.  I'm not to sure if others are bringing children at this point.  We will be there from the 18th to the 23rd and then headed over to Le Blanc.

Anyone travelling with kids April 2012? We will be there from the 15-22 and my kids need some friends to play with - they will be 2.5 & almost 5

Welcome to the site. Don't worry I felt pretty behind when I first joined too. The main thing, as many of the other ladies on this site would probably agree is to "lock in" your wedding date and time. You will get a wealth of information and ideas from the other brides on this site and we're a great support system for each other. Please let me know as you further your plans when you will be there. There are so many April brides that I wish I could afford to extend my trip into the following month. It would be great to have a new friend that will be there during the same time as me. Once again, welcome!

I agree with JL, don't feel behind feel really lucky to have found this site the day you did.  It's amazing, and I honestly don't know where I'd be without these amazing ladies sharing their experiences.

I know for sure I wouldn't know the difference between a good TA and a bad one and I would NEVER have made boarding pass save the dates.  My FI is so excited by all the MP ladies that he always asks me what you guys are all talking about.  It's so cute.

Agreed! I don't know how brides plan destination weddings without this site - honestly! Once you get your date & time locked in (which I just did last week so don't feel behind) you are set - we can help you with everything else!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
