I'm down 15 pounds from just dieting, so I'm going to add some exercise to the mix...starting P90X tomorrow!  I need to drop another 30, but I want to look very toned, not just thin.  I'm a former athlete and really want that part of me back.  Wish me luck!

Yup! I promised myself I will start journaling my food this week and watch my portion sizes and calories and also going to incorporate excercise...i have a pretty bad injury that i am trying to recover from so i cant do any high paced workouts right now which sucks :( so i think i will start with yoga.

Thanks so much for your post it has really helped to inspire me to keep going!  That is a really good idea about allowing yourself 1200-1500 it is really hard sticking to 1200!!

My problem is my thighs and my bum!  I have lost 4 cm of my arms and about the same from my waist but the thighs will just not move!!  Hopefully they will start soon i only started my really strict diet exercise plan last week I am now doing gym 3 times a week zumba once a week and treadmill twice a week! I have 2 weeks left to drop a few cm form my thighs before i have to decide if i will get my dress let out a bit in that area!!

Good luck with everything!

Without it i dont think i would have done so well :)

It really keeps me in check with my food, I use an APP on my droid fone and it has a UPC Scanner which is fantastic...

I stay about 1200 - 1500 calories, i make sure to give myself that space so i dont obsess too much.

I also went the extra step and bought a BODYBUGG which I wear 24/7 and it tells me how many calories I burn at all times. (even sleeping)

I do the gym 6 days a week, usually atleast 30min of cardio and then a body part with heavy weights. My FI helps me!

At first i didnt see any changes......

But now its like all the sudden things just started to change overnite, I have been doing this since Jan 3rd.

I am down 9 pounds and inches too......, i know weight 125.5 (i use two scales, one at gym one at home, so the 125.5 is the HOME Scale - i shouldnt have done that)

We all have to just keep it up and have faith that it is working, if you eat well and keep MOVING things hafta change!!

My problem is my lower belly....urgghhh, it wont go anywhere ( i had twins 15 yrs ago)...

Thanks for your advice.  I was just talking about the previous six days that i had really started the new diet, that's why there was no 7th day! I do try and eat a lot of lean protein, I love meat so protein is not a problem for me and I always by the best quality lamb and steak from a butcher.

Thanks for your advice that really helps.  I did the boxing on the wii fit yesterday for the first time and am really feeling it today my back is killing me! I will be really happy if i drop another 8lbs but my ultimate goal is to eventually drop another 15 pounds!

If you wanna lose another 8 lbs in 5 weeks, you're gonna really have to step up your workout routine. That's the only way to bust out of a plateau...simply cutting back more calories is not gonna do it. Walking and moderate exercise is good but to drop more weight, you'll need to do more intensive cardio AND some strength training. Also, you said you stuck to your meal plan 4 out of 6 days...what about the 7th day? You shouldn't give yourself more than 1 "cheat day" and at this point, maybe not at all. And a cheat day doesn't mean we can go all crazy...it can lead to unnecessary water weight. Please don't cut anymore calories...1200 is not a lot. Up your lean protein instead. Goodluck!

Ah yes, the stubborn thighs and butt...the bain of all of our existances, lol. Do you do squats and lunges? Some form of strength training is gonna be the only thing to change them...cardio might make them smaller but if you want to change their shape at all, there needs to be some strength training. Maybe add those exercises in, start just with your own body weight and as that gets easier, add in dumbells or a small barbell to keep your muscles guessing :)

Good advice on the squats and lunges!!  Those are some of my favs.  I miss doing them right now.

kiwibride - just keep at it and don't get discouraged that the weight isn't moving.  Increase the intensity of your cardio and take your measurements instead of weighing yourself.  You should be much happier with a 1 inch decrease than 1-2 lbs down.  Since you are down to 5 wks I would get a bit stricter with what your eating since it is such a short time and really get your sweat on.  Push yourself just a little harder and a little further each workout.  Picture yourself in your dress or bathing suit while you're working out...it sure motivates me a bit more LOL!!

3 weeks, 3 lbs and one belt size down. Can't complain :) It took me 6 months but I think I finally figured out how my body works. I have genetics and medicine side effects working against me but I am determined to gain control over my body!

I am with you on lunges and squats. They kick my butt but are effective.

Don't give up ladies.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
