lsmith, your in the exact same situation as me!!

I leave in 10 weeks, lost about 20 pounds in the past 8 months just changing some small things like cutting out soda, and cutting back on sweets.  Now I just need to loose another 20 and I'll be good to go! We can do this!!!

Yes we can!!!  I just have to get it in my head that the small changes aren't gonna cut it anymore - I have to try really hard over the next 11 weeks to get the rest of my weight off...  But if wearing a wedding dress and spending 10 days in a bathingsuit in front of friends and family doesn't motivate me, nothing will!

i have to agree small changes arent going to cut it.....

i want to lose 20 pounds before may 5.

So many people give me crap cuz I am 5'6 and weight 138 pounds and am 39 yrs old and tell me i dont need to lose any weight.

Well shit, I am very uncomfortable with myself, my belly roll and back fat.

i weighed 118 3 years ago, so why cant i do it again, but apparently this is Super Super hard.

I get so many contradicting opinions of how many calories to  intake..... i am between 1200 and 1500 calories a day.....but in 2 weeks have lost 1/2 pound.........forgive me, but we could all probably go to the bathroom and lose that.........LOL

Yes, I do exercise 4-5 days per week at gym.....maybe the hard facts are I Am Getting OLD???thatswck.gif

Oh, I am medicine sensitive, so i cant take any of those diet pills, but do give myself B12 injections shots every week to help boost my metabolism and enegry leve.

UUrrr.... What else to do????????? I am not too old, I am not too old, I am not too old bootyshake.gif

This is so, so true. Doing weights from the get-go when trying to lose weight is critical! I've started back at the gym this week and am doing Body Pump classes twice a week...my quads are still burning!

I'm going to try RPM classes this week, too (spinning class)...a good cardio workout that really gets your heartrate going also helps continue to burn calories, even after you're done!

Keep up the good work ladies! Day 3 and I already feel better!

I switch off every other day from Insanity (Cardio) to Jackie Warner (Circuit Training). I hate Insanity because it's so Intense, but I always feel great once i'm done and I know I burn tons of calories. Jackie Warner is great because she involves weights. My Quads scream for days. I love Jackie Warner workouts because I get a total body workout.

Yes, I have incorporated weight training as well......

I know that your body burns more fat the more muscle stimulation you have :)

My FI is huge into the gym, always has been for 10 years, so now he is teaching me......i never had to before.....i could get whatever I wanted and always stayed real thin..........but then age 40 started approaching and low and behold the FAT is coming........I never thougth that day would come where my metabolism would slow down...........I guess I was lucky the first 40 years to be a PIG....LOL

Hard thing to change....thatswck.gif

Hey Ladies!  My wedding date is 5/15/11 and my goal is to lose 20 pounds!  I started BODY FOR LIFE (great program, read the book!) January 3, 2011 and I have lost 5 pounds so far.  I did BFL last year and lost 16 pounds (it's a 12 week program).  It's gradual, but healthy.  All of our efforts will pay off on our wedding day when we look AMAZING!  :)

Have you ever read the book "The Eat Clean Diet" by Tosca Reno?  It is built around increasing metabolism as you get older.  The strategies really work, and a lot of figure competitors use this as a guide.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
