        This is great info!

Echraide, do you already have your date booked in 2012 with MP? I tried but they said they won't do anything until 2011. I know things book FAST and want to make sure we get the date/time we want!

          krsmith,

Although room prices are out they will not allow bookings for 12 until this year.  Happy Planning

            Just a few more:

If you want a bunch of lounge chairs together, make sure to reserve them with a towel before Breakfast.

Book any spa treatments ahead of time via email.

Arrange your trips as soon as you check in.

Last time I was there, the Japanese restaurant was the best. Especially the deep fried queso.

Mocha, I am looking forward to hearing about the resort during April, we are hoping to get married next April so i look forward to pictures and details from your wedding.  Congratulations

I will recommend the deluxe mani/pedi at the spa, it's an hour long and they do aromatherapy.  It was definitely worth it.

alison15:  How did you reserve a Hospitality/Dressing Room?  I asked my TA about one months ago, and she said that she thought I would have to book a regular room for a night to use for my WP to get ready.  Since resort check-in is not until 3pm and my wedding starts at 6pm, I would have to book a regular room for 2 nights - Friday night to have the room by noon and Saturday night so they won't kick us out at 3.

Go during the down season.  We were there in October with beautiful weather. The resort was at 12% capacity our first day (a Tuesday) and by the weekend they couldn't have been more than 40% capacity.  We never had to wait to get into restaurants and always had servers nearby to wait on us.  Getting into the spa wasn't even an issue.

If you send your gown to be steamed and you don't want your groom to see it prior to the wedding specify a different room for it to be sent to. They promised it would not go to my room but rather on Saturday morning to our hospitality/dressing room in the Nizuc section.  Instead it was dropped off to our room Friday night when my groom was headed back.

Everyone loved the Italian place by the golf course and the Caribbean restaurant in the Grand Moon. My favorite was the brick oven pizza in the Sunrise section. 11-4 everyday, Margarita, Mexican, Hawaiian and Pepperoni, all of it was delicious!

If a bartender offers you a "paralyzer" decline.

Well, my date is 4.4.2011, but I have found a few things that seem to be helpful...not necessarily top 5 but things that seem good to know (hope I'm not hijacking the thread).

Obviously, I can't take credit for any of this...I wish I could give credit to the multitude of brides that I have gathered this info from, so sorry!

If anyone else has tips and such they've found helpful, please post!

                  - Make sure you tell your wedding coordinator at your meeting that you have someone coming with the day pass, so that your guests don’t have trouble getting inside the property, essentially they put them in a list at the entrance of the resort where the security guard is protecting the gate. They ask for your name in order to enter the resort.

                  - If your guests request king size beds they will most likely be more spread out and further away because there are only so many king rooms per section.

                  • Get a list of all the confirmation numbers and emailed it out to everyone so they can keep for the records and double check that their dates are correct. (Turns out a couple of people had made some mistakes when booking and they were able to fix this in time.)
                  • Get a couple of sets of walkie talkies. It helps to keep track of key people in your party because the resort is huge.
                  • If people have blackberries, use them! A lot of us were on the AT&T network and we used our blackberry to keep track of each other.

                  • Give everyone an itinerary with all the events. If you don’t know exactly what you want to do, just set up a meeting time at the lobby bar and then decide what you want to do for dinner when you are there.

                  • If you can, plan your wedding during low season. All the restaurants are willing to accommodate larger groups then.
                  • Forget the bubble machine. It is too windy.

                  • Bring lots of change for tips
•Use a picture sharing so you can get access to everyone’s pictures. phanfare - All your photos and videos. For life. is great and allows you to download hi-res pictures.
                  • Give the photographer direction on what type of pictures you are look to get.
                  • If you are told to go to the Mercado 28 for Mexican items, don’t bother. I found the prices to be very high there as well. (Even for mini tequila bottles).
                  • Make a list of the things you are giving your WC and include very clear directions on where and how you want things placed.
                  • If you want to add a little something more to the d©cor, use DECO and rent some furniture. We created a cute “clubby” feel with the furniture.

                  • If you decide to use starfish for place cards, buy extra. I had tons and we had them everywhere at the reception.

                  • Consider renting a car. We wanted to personally pick up our parents and buy some things in Cancun, so it was very convenient to have it there. - If interested in purchasing a live band, religious ceremony, minister, tuxedo or a private dinner function please contact your wedding planner at least 70 days prior so she can confirm these services.
                  - Palace Resorts no longer allows packages to be shipped directly to the property.

                  - In the terrace area, we are able to accommodate buffet and cocktail menus. In our Ballroom areas any menu can be served included plated dinners.

                  - There is also a Taco place on the Grand side that has THE BEST food I had at the Moon. They were simple tacos, but they were really yummy!

Are we able to reserve the restaurant area for our included wedding dinner prior to our arrival?
Upon the interview with the onsite wedding planner, the couple will receive a list of all restaurants and times which are available for their wedding dinner.
