you can hire the mariachis to play from the end of your ceremony (recessional) up to one hour if you want...I see that a lot...If i am doing a solo guitarist gig, I will play 15-20mins pre-wedding, then I do the processional and some light background music during the ceremony , AND THEN the Mariachis finish the ceremony and continue playing for the cocktail hour ...And CHECK to see whether the trio is in fact a mariachi trio ...there are only a couple of mariachi trios that i know of ...the music is much different than a regular trio...

Before the ceremony began, we had guitar music from a CD we made which was not too Mexican, but it was beautiful.

Look on iTunes for music by Andre Krylov or Michael Soloway.

We had a maricahi trio for the cocktail hour that was included in our wedding package.

We have David Flores booked for our wedding in three weeks. Since we're a small group using him for ceremony and cocktail hour I thought it would be cool to get our first dance in using his music vs. an ipod- haivng our first dance to kick off the cocktail hour. I have been begging for his music list but the only thing I got back from my wedding planner is 2 ceremony songs- not first dance material.

For those that have used him, did he play any recognizable songs? Or any you think could possibly work for a first dance?

All others, any ideas on songs that would work well for a spanish guitarist to see if he can play...I'm guessing it's too late for him to learn but I figure I might as well try, give him a big list and see if he knows them.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
