  5. hi Patti...Yes I'm from cabo...I play a lot with violetta (above post) guitar/piano and violin when I'm not playing solo...as for other guitarists I can name a couple of good classical players...Alonso (mentioned above) is one, Fransisco a la Torre, David Flores , and there are others but I don't know I'm not sure how much wedding work they do...as for singing guitarists, there is Mijares...he is good and well rounded (musically speaking of course) sorry Adan...:-) and myself ...don't know of any others Id like to mention really...
  6. there are a couple , maybe 3 guitarists around that do wedding work...and some that sing als for an added touch...good luck!

  17. you can hire the mariachis to play from the end of your ceremony (recessional) up to one hour if you want...I see that a lot...If i am doing a solo guitarist gig, I will play 15-20mins pre-wedding, then I do the processional and some light background music during the ceremony , AND THEN the Mariachis finish the ceremony and continue playing for the cocktail hour ...And CHECK to see whether the trio is in fact a mariachi trio ...there are only a couple of mariachi trios that i know of ...the music is much different than a regular trio...
  18. Hi all my songlist is much too big too begin in this space , but let me give you some examples of what you might expect for the processional....... Airioso, Bach “Bridal Chorus: Here Comes the Bride”-Wagner “Horizons” - Genesis Pachabel`s Canon” Por Ti Volare...Bocelli “Trumpet Tune in D”- Purcell “Trumpet Voluntary”- Clarke ( during ceremony…) Air on the G string-Bach “Ave Maria”- Bach/Gounod “Ave Maria”-Schubert Eres Tu - Mocedades “Elizabethan Serenade ” “ Plaisir D `Amour ” Theme from Romeo & Juliet "Panis Angelicus"-Frank “Sheep May Safely Graze”-Bach Recessional ..... “Wedding March”- Mendelssohn Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”-Bach “Ode to Joy ” - Beethoven thanx!! Daryl

  20. being a musician I see Raul a lot on wedding gigs. I can say that first of all he is a great guy . secondly he is on top of everything, always very well prepared with top notch equipment . a Pro all the way. A-1.
  21. a real string quartet in Cabos is non exsistent...but, you can have a violin, acoustic bass, guitar and .....a choice of another violin or guitar... but a real quartet, violin, viola, cello etc, i've never seen here in cabos -d
  22. hi guys its apples and oranges really. your trio could be a trio of mariachis or a trio of trad Mex music , and they are VERY different sounding. Then there is the guitarist...he could sound like Segovia (real classical music) or like this "new flamenco" sound which is not reallly flamenco but a very watery imitation which a lot of people seem to like ...ottmar leibert, or jesse cook for instance....you will have to hear a sample of how the trio or guitarist sounds in order to make a good judgement really . - good luck!
  23. hi guys i'm a musician who just joined up today...if I can offer some advice about what to expect from a trio it would be that (depending on what sort of trio you have..Mexican traditional, jazz, classical , mariachi, etc.) if you know exactly what kind of music they are going to play, then you can request songs that you like from that same style...but don't mix up the sounds TOO much...it will sound a bit weird for example to hear a Mex trio all of a sudden break out with the Police's Doo doo doo, Dah da da, ....chances are they are'nt going to do a good job and secondly , its going to be an uncomfortable few minutes of " music" ...my advice is just let the trio play what they play best and if they are open to requests then maybe try a few...
