I like the idea of personalized resort beach chair covers. It's always nice to have a nice big towel to lay over your your beach chair so I think this would be a great gift. I found some on this site:

they are expensive though, at least on that site so I might try looking around for cheaper options or maybe even just go with a personalized large beach towel since I think that would probably be cheaper.

We are doing OOT bags filled with stuff that will be helpful for their vacation, but not necessarily things they would use later on with the exception of a travel mug. And maybe the bag itself, we haven't decided.

For favors I think we're going to do luggage tags. I agree "useless" things are a waste of money.

We might also wait and see if we find anything local that would be good.

Beach towels are great, I think, but expensive and take up a lot of room to get down there.

Alcohol and food is good, but we're at an AI so that stuff doesn't seem as useful for our guests.

The most useful favor I have gotten is a hangover kit. hangoverkit.com has cute ones already made for $5 bucks if your buy a case of 42. It includes a large cup with lid, advil, sports drink mix with electrolytes, multivitiamin pack, and a few other things. You could make your own as well. I am thinking of getting the premade kits and putting them in a beach tote with a Jamaican flag iron on decal.

Candy is always good too--at least you know it won't get tossed out. :) For my AHR we're giving out stadium cups for everyone to use and keep. I'm still not 100% sure about this, but it is the only thing my fiance' has requested, so I'm doing it for him. He figures people will keep a cup more than a random favor. Who knows, but at least it serves a purpose that night (and on the beach).
Stadium cups will be appreciated by your guests. At the all inclusive resorts the glasses are very tiny. By the time you wait your turn, get your drink back to the table it is time to start all over. I think you will be happy you did this.

Lillian Vernon also has these a bit cheaper- around $35 and they can be monogrammed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
