Thanks! Yeah, funny. That last pic is everyone's favorite, and that's the one my sister-in-law took with my camera!

Thank you so much for sharing your pics. I'm getting married at Beaches Negril June 26, 2010 and pictures was a key concern for me. I knew going into this destination wedding that I would have to make sacrifices when it came to this part of the wedding since we have to rely on the resort, but your pics put me at ease.
No problem! We're really happy with our pics. I think the photographer did a great job and got exactly the pictures that we wanted.

Hi ladies! Can't remember if I posted here yet or not...I think I may have a few pages back. Anyway, I am getting married 1.25.10 at Beaches Negril. Am I understanding this right?...there IS only one WC at this Beaches location? (Amber)....I have NOT gotten a hold of her yet. Basically, we keep playing phone tag...& this is weird because I stay at home all day with my baby...so it shouldn't too hard to get a hold of one another. I called her & left a message & it took her 2 days to get back to me! I was expecting her to call later in the day...guess, I have high expectations?! LOL Anyway, since I have not spoken to here ONCE yet & we've had this wedding booked since July...I am getting a little worried. I know there is still time, but I would have liked to have had my questions answered by now.

I am def. going to have to make some time to go through & read this entire thread. Thanks for having this! :)

I am geting married on jan 6. at Beaches Negril.

Amber actually is in Miami not in Jamaica. It took her a while to get back to me initially but now I have system where i send her an email asking for a specific time that would be convenient for both of us to talk, and I call her at that time. Its been working very well.

You're right - that was one of the first things I asked Amber. If she was going to be my actual WC at the resort or if I was going to be working with someone else; and that's when she told me she was in Miami and there are 2 other WC's actually at the resort and that's who I would work with for the actual wedding.

That is a good idea about scheduling a specific time to talk. I'm still a little further from my date so I'm not too worried about the details just yet, so I'm ok waiting a few days for her to respond to my emails.

When I talk with Amber I have a list of questions ready since she is so difficult to actually speak with. Last time we spoke I had over 50 questions & she answered each one. I have noticed that the closer to my wedding it gets the quicker she responds. She is the WC for all Jamaica brides so that is 4 or 5 resorts with an average of 4 weddings per day at each!

I get really frustrated sometimes, but then I try to step back & realize that there are hundred's of other brides trying to reach her as well. She is actually very nice & helpful when you reach her. Setting up a time is the easiest way to reach her. Also, if you just call the wedding department a lot of your questions can be answered by the other staff.

Hi JennaLynn544,

We are considering something similar too, we have talented family members. I have heard that as long as your friend doesn't have TOO professional of equipment and stays out of the resort photographer's way, you shouldn't have a problem. If they are trying to set up difficult shots and taking the resort photographers' time then you could be in trouble. If your friend is a paid guest at the resort, who cares if she has a nice camera and a photographer's eye!?!?!

Hope it helps. The photography is one of the main details that I am stressed about too!

Good luck!

Does anyone else have ideas. Small wedding - we're on our 2nd round with our children.
my 1st suggestion is that if you want the 4pm slot book it ASAP! that slot goes fast. then the later slot is the Sunset Collection and they charge you $3600 extra for that time.
I am getting married there 10/3/09 so i will post a review after and hopefully be able to help out.
Amber is sometimes hard to get ahold of but if you email her w your questions she answers very specifically.
Also make sure you guests know exactly what dates they are going because after they book if they want to make changes there are charges to change !!!
just remember its a good time so enjoy all of it!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
