I did not have my make-up done at the spa. My skin is really sensitive so I wanted to make sure that I used my own make-up. The spa seemed very competent so I wouldn't hesitate to book them. Take pictures if you have a specific look in mind. They appreciated that I had pictures so they could make sure I got exactly what I wanted for my hair.

I forgot to tell everyone about the sand flies!!!

At night they were terrible on the beach. We went for a walk the night before the wedding down the beach & my legs got destroyed! I had hundreds of bites all over my legs. I had to have a cortizone shot & took cortizone pills for the rest of our trip. The Dr. said I was having an allergic reaction to the bites because they itched & were burning & some of them even started getting pussy. Of course a trip to the nurses station cost $205 on the day of the wedding, but luckily our trip insurance will cover it & it made the itching & burning stop. During our pictures they kept biting everyone as well. We had to hold still for photo's and then everyone would dance around between shots! Another of our guests had to have a shot as well & everyone came home with bites.

We took deet wipes with us for our guests for the reception. Everyone was very appreciative of them!! Make sure you pack some!

FYI Everyone -

I just went to change my name on my driver's license and couldn't!!! Apparently in Colorado you must have a COUNTY issued marriage license in order to change your name on your DL. Of course we only have our marriage license from Jamaica (which is legal), but they wouldn't accept it. Now we have to go to our local courthouse & get a marriage license which will have a different day on it than our wedding.

So, make sure you check with your local driver's license place before you leave for your wedding! If it is the same as Colorado you can just get a marriage license before you leave and then put your correct wedding date on it, sign it, return it to the courthouse to be registered after you get back & you won't have the mess I have!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
