Great pictures Maura!! I'm so excited I want the next 10 months to just fly by!! Do you think I should have my ceremony at 4:00pm on 12-3 at the Grand?  I want enough time to take pictures on the beach before it gets too dark. What do you suggest?

DeAngelis2Be,

I saw someplace on this site that the pool games start at 4, Im not sure about the grand, but I'm thinking about 330 on the beach will be nice. Remember, the sun will set around 5pm when we get married in December, it depends on how much time you want for pictures with the sun still shining

Thanks for the heads up Marlena! I need to talk to my WC to see if 4pm on the dot is possible. I will try to get all the pics with my bridesmaids and family out of the way before the ceremony so I can focus on the entire bridal party and of course me and my groom post ceremony. I didn't think about the the sun setting early when I set my date.

Hi DeAngelis2be,

I had mine almost the same date (12-4-10) and I scheduled mine for 4:30.  I ran late, so it was more like 4:45, but I thought the timing was good anyway.  I didn't want to be too hot or anything during the ceremony.  It really depends how long your ceremony will be and how long you need afterward for pics.  We did some family and bridal party ones afterward, and my husband and I did some outside and then did a bunch inside as well.  I liked the time since we had cocktail hour from 5:30 - 6:45 and then reception at 7:00.  If we had finished much earlier, I don't know what guests would have done in between (or I guess we could have started reception earlier...).

Enough of my rambling...hope this helps!

Thanks, eholt!

My photographer was Neville, a Sungold associate.  We really loved working with him and am very happy with how the pics turned out!

yes, we spread out the cash between carryon pieces and on ourselves.  I was very stressed travelling with that much cash but we had no problems.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
