Does anyone know the dimensions of the round tables at "Tony's", I am looking into table runner to make them a bit more colourful but I'm unsure of the size.

Also do any of the 'Iberostar Beach' girls know if there is poolside dancing available as offered at the Suites?

Hello Everyone! I am new to this forum, and I am very intested in iberostar rose hall beach. Does anyone know if they have a private area on the beach where you can get married? I really am concerned about sunbathers in the vicinity of my wedding. i would rather not get married on a balcony.

I'd love to know if there is the option for a poolside reception as well. I think that the suites poolside reception is more for a cocktail reception only, but I'm not certain. The suites have that 'island' that the 'lazy river' flows around that they've used in the past for a ceremony, is that where the reception could be held? I know the beach has a little seating area close to the resort that could maybe be used...

 

Terutor - They do section off the area of the beach where the ceremony will be held, but its definetly not private and you will have sunbathers nearby. I've also heard that you have to 'recruit' someone to ask people to not walk along the water's edge, between the alter and the water, possibly causing strangers to be in your photos. I am either going to tip the staff to do this (if possible) or recruit a few of my big cousins to play bodyguard

I don't think they've ever done a dinner reception at the poolside, but as breeze said, you could have a cocktail reception there.

Great idea to get someone else to do this! I've seen beach weddings where people actually stop and gawk at what's going on, and they don't seem to realize they're ruining all your pictures. But as the bride I wouldn't want to be the one yelling at people to get out the way...

When I ask Latoya about a poolside reception she only said "it has never been done before" so I'm not sure if that is a for sure no. Maybe someone can 'pilot' it for us??

 

I don't mind having dinner at 'Tony's' but the reception is technically over by 1030pm. I asked about an extention on the time frame but there is some noise bylaws so they said they couldn't.

 

If there was another option (other than the disco) I would love to know!

Ya I saw that Sparkles had a second shooter with her photographer and he was doing crowd control. So I'm def gonna find SOMEONE to yell at them. lol.

 

Noise by-laws hmm? I would guess that means no parties outside at all after 10:30 pm? that sucks.

Hey Everyone u must be wondering where i went, I am still here just busy with my planning and my job. I hope all is going well for everyone all is great with me Jamaica is still number one i was at the hotel recently met with Nicole she is great! My florist Grande Garden is exceptional my main contact is Natalie she is fabulous could not have made a getter choice. If u r contemplating a florist u need to consider them Natalie's contact is [email protected]. My location is the lazy river i am going to be using roman coloumns with flowers at the top i am so excited, the bridge is gonna have vines running down the rails WoW!! can't tell u everything not to mention the reception at the steakhouse. Another thing she also does jamaican gifts. I have got to run but life is GOOD!

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN MARRIED AT IRHS I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS....

 

Okay, my wedding is next week and I have a few minor unanswered questions (probably silly questions)

 

1.) Does any of the restaurants require men to wear CLOSED TOE SHOES or will nice sandals sufice?

 

2.) Has anyone used the videographer for a DVD ofthe ceremony? Was it worth the $350 or should I just bring my own video camera and stand it on a tripod? (My concern with this is that I have no one to hold it so it would stay in one spot the whole time.

 

3.) Did anyone pay cash for the wedding or is it typical to put it on a debit or credit card? (I'm a little concerned about using my credit card/debit in Jamaica b/c of all the horror stories I have heard)

Hi Taylorbride, your date is coming up soon! I will be leaving for Jamaica on your wedding date and I can't wait

 

The only dress code requirement for the a la carte restaurants I have seen is that men must wear long pants. I just checked something I got from Nicole and it says "Please be reminder that long pants are mandatory in all the specialty restaurants for gentlemen and children over 12 years old as well as appropriate footwear 9sandals are allowed"...so I am taking that to mean you can't wear the type of flip flops you would wear by the pool, but you can wear sandals. Hope that helps...

 

I wouldn't be able to help you on the other questions but hopefully one of the previous brides will visit the board soon.
