Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married August 19th at the Excellence Playa Mujeres @ 5:00 P.M.! I opted for the complimentary wedding because Iâ€m only having like 6 guests attend and would like to know if anyone has any additional information on the cocktail hour/dinner, such as pricing and such after that. I havenâ€t got any details down with Yamina yet because I figured that everything will be dealt with when it gets closer, and Iâ€m sure she is super busy!

I just would like to know if any of you girls know some of the options, so that I can do my budget and such. Iâ€ve already booked and outside photographer, and does anyone know what the resorts daily pass fee for an outside vendor is?

Hi Trisha -

I had about 13 people attend and still went with the gold package. The reason had to do with hair/makeup/pictures, etc. When I priced everything out it was easier and more cost effective to get the gold package. The staff was also great about accommodating larger groups for dinner at the various restaurants. You are going to absolutely low your wedding. I was married a year ago and reading these posts makes me miss it so much.

Congrats Trisha!! August will be here before you know it. Sorry, I dont know. I am doing the Gold package so everything is included. If I am remembering correctly there was a post pages back about the food options. Dont remember which page since I read this entire thread one day at work lol! Sorry...I am sure Yamina would send you the docs too. She has been great with all my questions I have asked.

My date is quickly approaching!!! Friday May 20th @ 5:00 p.m. We are arriving at the resort on May 17th.

I have yet to have a phone conversation with Yamina, but I plan to give her a call in the next few weeks to confirm everything up. Our only communication thus far has been via email, but I've gotten a lot of information from her, so not speaking to her on the phone hasn't been a big issue for me.

So far, we have 18 guest booked and I think that's how it'll remain. I have 2 BM's and 1 MOH and my fiance has 2 GM and 1 BM

I go for my final dress fitting today!

2 down, 1 to go on my bridal party dress fittings! Hopefully we'll all have our dresses in hand by next week!

The guys ordered really nice linen suits from J Crew. They look amazing and are really appropriate for a destination wedding. We're still waiting on a few of their pieces to come in.

I'm going shopping together for a wedding dress garment bag. I really don't want to pack my dress into a carry on suitcase, so hopefully I won't run into an issue with just carrying it on in the garment bag. Hopefully they can hang it in the captains closet! *crossing fingers*

Bridal party Shoes-check!

Grooms party shoes-NO check. Ugh (they're thinking about wearing flip flops.

I'll be doing my own hair and make-up (I think I'm pretty good at it)

I hope to get fresh flowers for my hair and for my bridal parties hair...if not, I have some flowers that I ordered on hand.

Not sure about the menu yet. Yamina sent me the menu and told me to choose my selections, but hopefully we'll be able to have a tasting before we have to make our final decision.

We are bringing our own music for the ceremony and renting the sound system from the resort. $500 seems pretty steep to rent the equip, but we're not left with much of a choice.

DEL SOL is my photographer and I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY about our choice!!! I know our photo's will come out AMAZING!!!!! Sol is our main photographer and we'll have oen additional.

We arranged shuttle service through Cancun Transfers and got a REALLY good rate round trip for our group!!!

Most of the guest arrive on Thursday 5/19 with a few people coming in on Tuesday and Wednesday to extend their vacation.

We are having a welcoming dinner on Thursday evening! Really excited about that!

I will be arranging massages and mani/pedi appointments for the morning of the wedding for my bridal party.

My best friend is singing at the ceremony which I know will have me extremely choked up.

My Bridal shower is also coming up on May 1st!!! Yippee!!!

That's all for now folks!! The countdown is ON!!!! woot.gif

Thanks for all the information! Sounds like I do have some planning to do! I can't wait! I love this forum, so much information! I haven't asked or received anything from Yamina as of yet, but I might shoot her an email just to get the information. The only information I have is from the website. Reading all these forums gets me really excited!! I can't wait!! If you girls have any documentation that Yamina has sent you, would you mind sharing and fowarding to my email? [email protected] I know she is extremely busy & since my wedding is a few months down the road, I'm sure I'm not at the top of her list! @Kera- are you going with the beach or gazebo wedding? * sorry for the improper grammar and any misspellings on here, I'm on my iPhone and laying down.

Hi Ladies!

As I was doing some research and going through my photographer's albums, I found some that covered EPM! I thought I would share as I'm sure you all would love to see pics of weddings at the resort! There are some great pictures of the wedding sites and give some great ideas for reception/decor. Take a look! I hope this helps! :)

Sharon99,

I actually just found out from Juan that he is no longer the in house photog for EPM. Quite disappointing, I have been following his blog for over a year now, thinking that he would be our photog. I was actually just wondering if anyone knows what company they are going with now? I'd really like to check out there work and see if we should hire Juan Navarro anyway.

Trisha-  I will send you the info that I have received from Yamina.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
