Hey girls! I can't believe that it's already November and April is only 5 short months away! It's crazy...

I feel like I have so much left to do. Here's what I've done so far:

-Booked location/date

-Booked photographer

-Sent out STD's (55 guests already booked with deposits!)

-Bought FI's suit

-Bought GM's outfits

-Bought my dress

-Bought OOT bags and most contents

Up next..

-Finishing up invitations to be mailed out hopefully in a couple of weeks

-Setting a date for our AHR

-Pick out wedding bands

My bridesmaid dresses arrived today! Because I have one of the Alfred Angelo "Dream in Colour" dresses, I was concerned the colours wouldn't match (we are paying for bridesmaid dresses, so I didn't want the real AA bridesmaid dresses). However! The colour was a perfect match, and only $50 US a dress! Yahoo!

Alright, it has been a month and a half and I feel like I haven't made any progress! Someone give me a swift kick in the pants!!!

So here's my update:

1. Made a deposit with the location

2. Sent STD's and designed Invite (the prototype looks awesome!)

3. Created wedding website

4. Hired a travel agent (TA Jennifer)

5. Narrowed down venue for AHR

6. Sent color swatches to Bridesmaids

BTW: I think I may still be the most behind April bride there is!

I got engaged in August 2, 2008 and began planning our destination wedding mid September. Here is a list of my progress since then:

- Paid mine and fiance's 7-night stay at the resort.

- Created a wedding website

- Sent our STDs

- Bought my wedding gown

- Bought my TTD dress

- booked our photographer

- booked and scheduled our engagement photos

- scheduled our marriage retreat

- scheduled our marriage orientation with our local priest.

- booked flights for both of our parents and siblings.

- bought flower girl dress.

- picked best man, matron of honor, bridesmaids, and groomsmen.

- scheduled an interview with my photographer for boudoir pics.

- got my documents required for catholic wedding: (baptismal certificate, holy communion, etc)

- got commitments from both of our parents for financial help =)

i still feel so behind! at least the big things are out of the way now. the next big thing is ordering our invitations.

I don't think you're behind at all! I wouldn't worry about it anyway. It's a destination wedding so everything you really need to do it pretty much done! All you really need is something for you and FI to wear and that's all that matters! Keep in mind though that unless you buy off the rack most wedding gowns take quite a while to come in!! Good luck and happy planning!!

I was just thinking the other day how FAST the next 5 months are going to go!

Seriously once we get through the holidays...April will be just around the corner! Even though my invites are sent, there are a few things I am feeling a bit behind on already!

Here are the BIG things we still have to do:
- order both of our wedding bands
- Get FI's wedding attire
- Get my veil and accessories
- book our "honeymoon" hotel
- find a dog sitter while we are gone!
- arrange transportation for guests from airport to hotel

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
