Really?! We didn't see any topless women the entire week that we were there. Although I was concerned about the non-privacy issue of the beach, I had my heart set on getting married ON the beach in Mexico. We did stress to Toni that we wanted people kept at a distance and they just stacked chairs along the side to create a kind of barrier. Of course there were people that watched, but I didn't notice one single person.

I would honestly say that if you and your FI were gung ho about getting married on the beach, DO IT! I am so glad that we did even though I was a nervous wreck about the spectators.

Thanks Ryan's Girl! We are getting married on the beach as that is our dream...and while I am nervous, we are still doing it. :) Speedos and tatas and all! :) That was too funny! I had to forward to FI for a laugh. Hopefully we will get lucky and not get flashed on our big day! :)

Ok so now I feel a little bit better even though I shouldn't. It does seem that all the details get done while were there but an email back would be nice. So your on the 13th and were on the 15th!!! We arrive on the 12th to the Lindo!! I have alot to tell Reyna, like food choices for our 90 guests, hair appts for my bridesmaids...I'm getting really nervous!!!

Reyna emailed me a 3 page document that asked about flowers, number of guests, restaurant choice etc. Since I emailed it back to her, I have been trying to get in touch with her. I have emailed her 2 or 3 times with no reply. I have also been asking if we are going to be getting married at the Del Mar/Beach or Lindo. We leave June 28th. I hope she emails before then!

Hi All- we are still not decided on a location, but are considering Iberostar Paraiso- maybe some of you could help with a few questions I have.

Do you have to stay at the resort you are having the ceremony at? I would like to stay at the Grand, but because there will most likely be little ones, we could not have the ceremony there, so I like the gazebo (at the Beach resort)for a location, would it be possible?

Also, does everyone need to stay at the same resort (if the ceremony is at the Beach resort, could people stay at the Lindo or Maya) or would we need to get day passes for those not at the resort that the ceremony is at?

Thanks,

Tracy

Short answer is yes, you do have to stay at the resort you are staying at and hold the ceremony at that specific resort. The reason they do this is because they allow one wedding per day at each Iberostar resort on the property. The Del Mar/Beach are one resort so they allow only one wedding per day and the brides staying there get to use the venues on that property. Same goes for the Lindo/Maya resort and they are not permitted to use venues on the Del Mar/Beach side as there may already be another wedding that day using said venues. The Grand has a gorgeous wedding gazebo for its guests if you like gazebos, but you can only use the gazebo on the Grand property.

Thanks,

This is going to be long-winded lol. Any guest staying at the Grand or the Lindo/Maya resort have complete free access to the Del Mar/Beach facilities (Del Mar/Beach is considered a "downgrade" and since you pay more to stay at the Lindo/Maya and Grand, I guess that's why they give guests free access to the Del Mar/Beach side), however, any guests staying at the Del Mar/Beach resort do not have transferrable access to the Lindo/Maya & Grand as they are considered fancier resorts (which would be an upgrade) Also, I believe that guests staying at any resort other than the Grand (were your wedding to be held at the Grand), would require a day pass to attend. The Grand does not under any circumstance allow children on the property as it is strictly an adults-only resort (not even for weddings). If you held your wedding at the Lindo/Maya and some of your guests were staying at the Del Mar/Beach, they would be required to purchase a day-pass to attend. The Del Mar/Beach and the Lindo/Maya resorts are all considered family resorts, so children would be allowed to attend weddings at either of these, just not the Grand.

I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if I can further explain any of this.
