I didn't know what it was until recently myself. Here is a link to a video. It can show you better than I can tell you:

I've had mine done. I thought it was more painful, but not bad. Waxing doesn't bother me at all. I actually had tears from the threading, but I thought they looked really good.

I was on vacation and haven't found anyone who can do it locally, but I haven't really looked! LOL

I say go for it. If you don't like it, you don't have to go back.

I used to get my eyebrows threaded all the time since there was a place close by where I used to work. I haven't gone in a long time, but I do get my eyebrows waxed. I don't think the threading is more or less painful than waxing, but I do think that my eyebrows look better threaded than waxed. My skin also gets really red after waxing for about 2 days, but the redness goes away after maybe an hour when threaded.

It seems to be popular in New Jersey, or getting more popular... and it is totally affordable and precise.

Wow! I hadn't heard of this! Thanks for the info. Can you get other places "threaded" like your upper lip, or only eyebrows??

yep, they can do the whole face...lip, chin, eyebrows, sideburns, etc.

I get my eyebrows threaded too- when I tried waxing I got a reaction to the wax, so the thread is a much better option for me.

I've been doing threading for a few years now and each time it gets less painful. I tried waxing once but they took off too much and my skin is so sensitive my eyes almost swelled shut.
