ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what is the civil ceremony reading that the officiant read??????

Thanks

I just received a reminder that my wedding is 5 months away at The Royal-PDC. I am freaking out because i feel like i have so much to do. Please brides can you please let me know what should be done by now! I still need a photographer , dj, hair/makeup appt and favors. Any recommendations? How long does it take to order maracas as favors? I have no decorations either. Is everyone going through the resort for flowers, lighting and decor? What is everyone bringing down with them? Also, I would like my friend to marry us. We are having a symbolic ceremony. Does anyone know how the ceremony goes? And how about a rehearsal? Does the royal provide this? I have no idea what I am doing! Yikes! Thanks everyone!

I'm using Marvin for my flowers, not using any additional decor, although I know the resort offers it. There are also other decor vendors, but then you have to pay the vendor fee. What is everyone bringing down with them? My OOT bags, shot glasses for favors, guest book stuff, etc.

I attached the file in the post above, but we are writing our own vows. And how about a rehearsal? No rehearsal that I know of. Does the royal provide this? I have no idea what I am doing! Yikes!

Thanks everyone!

I'm using the spa. I've heard that as long as you provide detailed pictures, you will get what you want. I plan on having someone here do my bridal hair and makeup, taking pictures and bringing the makeup down with me to Mexico.

I booked Doremixx, I wanted Ivan but he's not available. I've heard the best about them. But you are right, big $$$.

Hi Marooon13,

I hope you dont mind if I chime in with my 2 cents worth! This is TA Wendy from here on the forum and Wright Travel.. I would suggest to you that the Gazebo at the Royal PDC is especially beautiful and provides a level of privacy you would not have on the beach. It is very pretty with the ocean behind you and provides plenty of room and a nice entry for the bride. It can also be decorated beautifully.

Just be sure that your photographer is well aware of how to shoot your photos while you are in/ under the Gazebo.. if not properly exposed, the water comes out over exposed or the faces in shadow. A good photographer will know how to deal with this, and in fact there are some good photos and explaination on the problem and how to correct it in this thread.

Otherwise it is a very pretty and more private venue at the Royal... I think it is a great spot!

TA Wendy

I know it's probably on here somewhere but can someone answer these two questions:

1. How do you book your room and flight and wedding?  I was wondering if I could do a travel package from a travel website and then book the wedding through the hotel.

2. How much are day passes for the guests coming to the wedding from the Gran Porto?  How about from other resorts?

Pretty much settled on The Royal in July of this year but need to know about booking and getting an exact date.  Thanks.

Hi Briannettu

I think lots brides have booked in different ways. For me I contacted the hotel direct and booked my wedding day so I had the day secured then I booked my package holiday at the royal.

Hello all other brides.... hope the planning is going well, I've read all the posts but I still can't decide on a few things. We are having our ceremony at the gazebo at 16.00. Then our reception on the beach? My fi has decided he's not to sure on the beach? Do they provide much lighting or do I need to get some more? He thinks it wont be relaxed when people are eating and sand will be evrywhere? Soo should be have it in the ball room? I think the space is too big in here when there is not many of us?

Ive asked my WC if you can have the reception on the patio near the Gazebo but not heard back yet. Does anyone have any recommendations? beach reception or ball room?

5 months to go and the only thing I have done is got my dress..... so excited tho

If you can get the area by the Gazebo DO IT!  I had the same thoughts about the beach, and we have some folks that just aren't interested in battling the evening winds and sand flying everywhere...so we are doing a cocktail hour at the ceremony site on the sand, then moving the party inside for dinner/cake/dancing.  They cut the ballrooms down to fit your group, so they won't feel ginormous...I thought about that too!  Check out some of the photos links if you can, many brides have posted reception photos in the 'smaller' ballrooms...ALSO, since it is a July wedding, the A/C might be nice after the ceremony...from what I understand it is Sticky hot 24-7 in the summer months....kinda gross if everyone is dancing...and sweating like piggies! HAHA.... good luck!!

Awww, you have officially become a member of THE Royal brides club!! welcome.gif

All I can say, is once you get past the disappointment, the wedding will go on, and no one will know what you had planned, except those that you already told...if any...maybe they will let you do wired paper laterns or tiki torches on the beach as an alternative??

You will be a gorgeous Bride, your guests will have a blast...and it IS still a third world country afterall...can we really expect the same consistency as we do in the US?

GOOD LUCK!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
