Jhankarlo and his team absolutely blew away our expectations for our wedding photographer. His communication was excellent, always responding to our emails and phone calls. His English was perfect as well, which was a blessing for all of the planning we had to do before making our way down to Mexico. We had 8 hours of coverage with Jhankarlo for our reception and ceremony, which was the perfect length of time for us and our guests. Jhankarlo is incredibly creative, and that certainly comes through in his photos - they are just the BEST! We also did a trash the dress shoot at a nearby cenote 2 days after the wedding - it was so much fun! Jhankarlo and his team had such great attitudes and were always there to help us find the right light and pose. The photos he took that day are absolutely incredible and we will cherish them for the rest of our lives. What an incredible gift! Before finding Jhankarlo, I had contacted over 10 photographers in the Riviera Maya. Not a single other photographer came close to the skill and value that Jhankarlo and his team offer. We could not be happier in our choice of wedding photographer. Thank you SO much, Jhankarlo, for everything you have done for us!

Starting to panic... It wouldn't be too big of a deal to me if I had planned for all wedding events to be indoors, but I didn't. In fact, I decided against having a ton of flowers (1. we can't take them home with us. 2. I won't get to enjoy them very much afterwards...I'm pretty sure that the time we spend in our room will not include enjoying flowers. 3. the scenery is so gorgeous that I didn't want people to oogle at the arrangements rather the natural beauty) and decor because of reason #3 above. BUT, if we have to move everything indoors...WHAT DO I DO??? It won't look like a wedding at all!!!!! Oh my goodness, I'm ready to cry!

Weird question for you ladies. I asked for blue orchids (dendrobium orchids) and was told they aren't available locally. I get it and I'm not surprised. But my WC told me they could paint white orchids blue!?! Has anyone tried this or seen this? I worry that it would look fake or tacky or might wear off on my dress. The WC did say that the paint is not toxic (as I had asked about flowers on the cake as well). Here an example of the bouquet that I asked about: I'm thinking it's probably a better approach to find some local blue flowers, but thought I would ask to see if anyone has run across this before. I did really want the orchids! But any suggestions for other blue flowers would be welcome (haven't asked the WC yet).

Hi dear BDW ladies! I'm very new to the forum and i found that you are all very helpful! Can someone please explain to me why does the number of guests matter in an all inclusive package? The food and drinks are included anyway right? so why does the price for the wedding change if you have 30 or 60 guests? What's the difference? Thank you!

So I am getting married August 15 at now sapphire in riviera maya and I still have not picked my centerpieces/ flowers! Everything seems so expensive and I am very simple, but I still want it to look nice. I have an idea of what I want but I don't think I can travel with what I want. The resort wants to charge about 85 plus tax for a centerpiece. I've seen some people on this site post about using outside vendors but I know I'll have to pay an outside vendor fee (300) so I feel like it will add up quickly. I would be happy with any of the below centerpieces, which one would require minimal flowers, which I could get from resort, but the biggest problem is the glass vases. I feel like I can't just use one, so with 3 per table I would need about 21 with 7 tables. Definitely can't travel with those!! Has anyone experienced traveling with all that stuff or have any other suggestions? I really like just the candles but since reception is outside, I'm afraid they will blow out if not in glass. What do you think?? My favorite really is with the flowers in the water, I don't know what to do!

Hi everyone This is my first post after lurking for a couple of weeks. My fiance and I got engaged two weeks ago and I'm starting the process of planning our wedding. I think we both share the same vision for our day: Closest friends and family, beach wedding, relaxed feeling. We are hoping to get married April - May 2016 in Cancun / Riviera Maya. Our guest list is at 65 people now. I'm thinking we could have as many as 50 - 60 guests join us. Our guests will be traveling from all over the world (Europe, South America, Canada, U.S) so we needed a place that would be easy to reach and would offer lots of options for our guests. So I've been doing some research online and I can say I'm extremely overwhelmed by the number of options and different elements that play into the decision. Like I'm getting headaches from it LOL! So I thought I would ask you to help me make this decision. The following are some of our priorities: Gorgeous beach: We want to get married on the beach and I want stunning pictures, also a lot of our guests will be visiting for the first time and don't want to take them to a meh beach Food: My fiance and I are both foodies so good quality food and options are important to us Family vs adults only: Honestly, I would prefer an adults only resort. Our guests are mostly young and single (no children) and our parents and rest of our family all have grown up children. Not a deal breaker though Location: As I mentioned before, we have several single, young guests so I feel like we should be close to the action so that they can go party if they want to. Or if the resort has a club that would work as well! Bang for our buck: Because obviously.... So far I found that the Palace resorts offer great perks while Dreams try to nickel and dime you on everything. Any other suggestions? I would also like to do a site visit but feel like I should narrow it down to 3 options before making arrangements for it. Thanks in advance!!!

Hi there I'm needing reviews of your resorts beaches. This will help me narrow my choices down I hope.

I'm new to this site so hope I'm posting in the right forum. We've booked our wedding for April 2016 at the Now Sapphire. We've recently booked a last minute trip to a nearby resort and have arranged to meet our wedding coordinator at Now Sapphire for a site visit. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for what I should ask or review while I'm there? We're already booked, so it's not a matter of choosing the resort. I was thinking covering the following topics: Ceremony & reception sites (and alternate sites in case we don't end up liking the ones we've selected or in case we need a back up due to weather) A tour of the property, including: pools, beach, restaurants, bars, kids club and a few different types of guest rooms Possible food tasting? I will also ask if there are any weddings taking place that day so I might be able to see the set up And I will take loads of photos! Any other suggestions? It seems like I have answers to a lot of my other questions and/or they can easily be covered by email or phone in the next year. Since we don't want to spend all of our vacation time doing wedding planning, I'm not planning to meet with outside vendors. I don't plan on adding a lot of extras to the wedding package - maybe additional flowers and minimal additional decor for the reception - so hopefully this is not a big deal. Appreciate any tips!
