  1. @@kcole123 Your post made me just spit up my coffee in laughter... There was no pun intended on your part- but man that gave me a giggle!
  2. It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be... First time is not great (lol) but then so long as you keep it up, it's relatively painless.
  3. How did it go? I saw your note on the punta cana jellyfish thread and thought... Oh no!
  4. Wow Angela!!! What happened!?? Moving not only resorts but countries! Your plans seemed to be coming together at hrh!
  5. I soooo would have done the same thing! And I also laughed when you said typos on iPhone for BDW... I couldn't agree more!
  6. Hahahahahhahaa omg I can't believe you fixed it!.... But I totally get that it was driving you crazy! Haha You have to keep one of the originals though... For a good laugh in 10 years.
  7. Yes. That is what we have planned. We are hosting a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony as the bridal party goes down to the beach for photos. Our friends and family are welcome to hang on the sky deck for a few cocktails and enjoying the view and mariachi band we have hired. Then our reception is being held at plaza Zavas following that.
  8. Why would we be negative? You asked if other brides have been asked to pay up front (in my case there was a deposit and a payment due just prior to wedding).... A few of us have replied that we were comfortable with that process... No negativity necessary! Good luck planning!
  9. My photographer and florist will require payment in full prior to wedding day. My fireworks company I am considering also requires payment in full. I did extensive research on all three vendors and feel comfortable with this arrangement. I will be paying with credit card in case of any issues, but do not foresee any. All these are private vendors and are no way affiliated with our venue resort
  10. We are there at start of December and we go every year at that time... I always have so many packages delivered to the hotel from a my online shopping! Haha
  11. At Sensatori you can only use the sky deck for ceremonies and cocktail reception following the ceremony- they can not accommodate receptions at this venue. Azul Fives allows for both reception and ceremony on their sky deck.
  12. Also would depend on what you think most of your friends and family will be drinking. If they are beer drinkers primarily... You may opt for koozies since in this instance, draft wouldn't be the deterrent that make them pointless at ai resorts.
  13. I agree... Don't let your unenthusiastic inlaws slow down your excitement. Start planning decor, entertainment, photographers, makeup, flowers etc... Then once you have a better sense of numbers you can look at the reception menu and the more detailed part of the planning!
  14. Just did a quick search... The seller TheEliteBride doesn't seem to have a shop anymore... And the only vendor with hangers less than $15.00 before shipping was one from China for around $6.50. I'm gonna try and make it myself... And if I fail, order one!
  15. There is a very active now sapphire brides and official now sapphire thread if you search the forum... I'm sure there are several brides there that can help you that may not notice your new post but check into those threads on a regular basis! Good luck!
  16. Most of the templates for these items are in simple word documents... So totally good! Another option if you are starting from scratch are the free Avery templates that use their label dimensions... They are online and easy to use, and you can add different fonts and images/clip art.
  17. They are good fun at your reception if you are having a dance floor! Some DJs bring these along, but you can never have enough and they look amazing in pics when your dancing under the stars at your reception!
  18. Ahhh must have been an old post and that cranky person is long gone! It's great to see all the excitement continuing on these boards... Though it's killing my budget seeing all these awesome ideas that I keep wanting to add! Hahahhaaha.... Don't worry... I'm a Total chatterbox and 150 goes super fast! No offence was taken... Just didn't want any new members thinking we are a bunch of meanies! It's the least snarky board ever... And the brides here are awesome!
  19. I have never seen a thread that doesn't welcome active communication from new members... This is one of the most supportive and positive boards I have ever been a part of and the brides (old and new) love having the support of one another. It is frustrating to see 5 year old threads resurrected by members trying to get to 150 with just a "nice" or one word just to rack up the numbers... But seeing new members participate and actively becoming part of this community is awesome!!! Doesn't matter if you are a "noob"... We are all here to plan an awesome celebration or support others who are in the middle of their process! Congrats to ALL the brides here!
  20. You have inspired me that I can do this! Your first attempt it amazing!!!!! Good job!!!! I think you can get 12 gauge at Michaels in the jewellery section.
  21. There are a couple florist recommendations in the review section of this site... Maya Floral is considered a popular one I believe (Marvin).... Keep in mind outside vendor fees could apply- so factor that in for your budget but I agree, going through Lomas for florals of any magnitude is expensive!!
  22. Yeah just have your TA work with wj vacations to make sure they take care of you- totally not with paying extra... With 35 they will likely have you all on one transfer and head direct
  23. Canadians have this included in our packages... But resorts can work with you (as can your TA) on a local company to provide transfers. It's definitely a good way to start for your guests.
  24. If it's a genuine Brazilian blow out, I would stay clear. They were banned shortly after coming out in canada due to the toxic nature of the product and the harm it was doing... There are safe versions out which do the same thing, but are focused on keratin. Just make sure it's not a true Brazilian blow out.
