I don't have pictures of it, but I wish I did! If you happen to get any, would you mind sharing them?

Apparently the hotel has a bar, the Zky Bar which is open until 1 am. I believe they have dancing and stuff. There are also apparently a few clubs in Playa that are fun. it's 10 minutes away and I think someone said about a $12 cab ride. The hotel can probably arrange a van for you or something in advance. You may want to ask. We're planning on doing the Zky Bar.

  2. So out of curiosity, how much did everyone pay for photo/video services? Personally, I got 6 hours photo, 5 hours video and a cenote trash the dress session. I see ocatvious prices, but they dont really look all that much cheaper so I am curious what was the total package cost including outside vendor fee?

I booked Photos in Cancun (www.photosincancun.com). They are really responsive and speak great english which makes me feel better. They're $2500 for 2 photographers + an assistant. They also give me a flash drive with all of the pictures after the event which is awesome. I've heard a lot of photographers take forever to send you your pictures. They also allow free access to all pictures so anyone can print them, share them on social media, whatever. They've been really nice and they discounted their fee to $2100 so I only have to pay $400 of the outside vendor fee. They added 3 hours of photography for the rehearsal dinner as well which is awesome. I'm just getting a day pass for that and he just happens to have a camera handy. Haha. Their package is usually 8 hours of photography day of wedding, but he also upped it to 10 hours for me at no additional cost. I highly recommend him. I read a lot of reviews online about him and they were all awesome. I literally couldn't find one bad review.

I think that's really rude of her! It puts you in a very awkward position. If you're like me, normally you wouldn't care, but since she didn't ask you BEFORE she invited them, that's really inconsiderate. Then it's just tricky because you don't want to be the mean bride who won't allow them to the wedding events because you don't want to have to pay for additional people you don't know, but then it looks bad. Just a bad situation to be put in. I'd definitely be upset with my friend if they did that. I hope it works out!

I haven't gotten the pics of the garden/pool area yet, but I really want to see some because I don't know what it looks like!!

I remember reading about a girl who had her flowers delivered and her fiancée met them at the gate. The flowers from Lomas are ridiculously expensive, but I'm just doing flowers on half of the tables instead of all of them. I just don't want to have to worry about getting flowers that day b/c I know I'm going to be so stressed out. Eek!

  5. Hi! Would you mind sending me pictures of the photos you have of the garden/pool area? I'm thinking about doing our reception there, but I haven't been able to see any pictures. Thank you!!! My email is khmciver@@gmail.com. Thanks again!

@lilgabri03  Would you mind emailing me the chain of emails between you and the GM? I'd really appreciate it. The email is khmciver@@gmail.com. Thanks so much!!

@@KScheer - I didn't put your name. My bad. Do you mind emailing me your pics of the garden/pool area for the reception? I'm thinking I'm going to do that space too, but I haven't seen many pictures. Thanks!

@@Lilgabri03 - Never mind about emailing the GM email. I'm an idiot and just saw you posted it already. I totally missed it.

I think we're doing half of our tables with flower centerpieces surrounded by some votives, then the other tables with hurricanes surrounded by rose petals. I'm also bringing my own sheers for the gazebo, my own table runners and my own chair sashes. The resort charges you an arm and a leg for so much of it!

As for our room block, we did the biggest chunk of rooms as the deluxe room and, of course, most people are booking suites! Typical. :)

How many people are you all expecting for your weddings?

Lastly, if anyone has seen any recent reviews with pictures, can you let me know? I haven't seen any lately.
